To be fair, this time he's only referring to movie female characters, so not all of those count.Ripley, Sarah Connor, Buffy Summers, Wonder Woman, Scarlett O'Hara, The Bride, Furiosa, Katniss Everdeen, Marge Gunderson, Carrie White, Yu Shu Lien, X-23, Lara Croft, Mulan, Dorothy Gale, Laurie Strode, Clarice Starling, Belle, Chihiro/Sen, Mrs. Brisby, Rose Bukater, Elle Woods, Xena, Samus, literally every female character from Game of Thrones.
And that's only the few I can name off the top of my head, Dobbo.
I'LL wait. Bitch.

I'm genuinely curious to see how Dobbo refutes Ripley, a character that not only set the standard for excellent female characters in film, but is still consistently beloved by the masses after all these years.
Resurrection didn't happen in my mind.Well. Resurrection...
But generally the refutation is to go "What is that ALL?!", moving the goalposts from 'there aren't any' to 'there aren't enough no matter how many you cite'.

Just like Prometheus, Covenant, The Predator and both AVPs.
Yeah, he did the same thing a while back with female video game characters.Well. Resurrection...

I really could name a lot more, not just from movies but from books and comics too. You'd be surprised how many female characters are out there. But Dobson won't listen. For as much as he slobbers all over lesbians and muh stronk wahmen, he refuses to believe they exist when you present them to him.
A character is defined by more than their gender. Personally, I don't like seeing my gender be represented by lame, sue-esque wastes of space that have everything handed to them. I'd rather see a female character that's vulnerable but is able to overcome the odds through hard work and courage in the face of fear. That's way more empowering to watch than Rey piloting the Falcon better than Han or Bitchface Mcgee saying something smug before effortlessly punching someone. It's so false and insincere and the audience can sense it no matter how many twitter seals bark and clap their hands over it.
hell, pick almost any female character from kill billRipley, Sarah Connor, Buffy Summers, Wonder Woman, Scarlett O'Hara, The Bride, Furiosa, Katniss Everdeen, Marge Gunderson, Carrie White, Yu Shu Lien, X-23, Lara Croft, Mulan, Dorothy Gale, Laurie Strode, Clarice Starling, Belle, Chihiro/Sen, Mrs. Brisby, Rose Bukater, Elle Woods, Xena, Samus, literally every female character from Game of Thrones.
