So, Chambers of My Heart (YouTube user who some of you may have seen in chat for TUG, Yellow Flash, or Nick's Streams) did some investigation on Spitfire's claims.

Gay Ops confirmed.
Spitfire responded that her trust in her friend has been "slaughtered" in light of everything.

This was my second guess, too. Her friend either did not tell her the whole story or flat out lied to her.
Also, Chambers linked this statement regarding the extra law enforcement at Penscacon:
PENSACOLA, FLORIDA – Lawrence Keefe, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida, recognized the brave women and men in Northwest Florida’s law enforcement community today for working diligently through the weekend to keep the Pensacon event safe for all participants. This...

I know we've had some people going "Oh they wanted to make this a gay ops" etc etc.
This is just the latest boring drek stage of them trying to regain the narrative, get dumb stories like this, signal boost, throw them out there as conspiracy theories or outright lies, and thus smear everything else by association.
But once again, the usual support network of masses of shitty "news" sites boosting all of this with smug commentary... ain't there.
It's gone. This is just the vanguard of "the future" in which journalist barrel scrapers no longer have government funding to play culture warrior with.
It's not going to make it to HuffPo, or Buzzfeed, or Salon, or anywhere "with lots of clicks."
All these guys have is their own twitter screaming into the void.
This is probably the first "controversy" (like many of this stripe, entirely manufactured) which hasn't had that support network in place, and has had someone ready to lawyer up and fight back almost immediately.
It's kind of fun watching their side fall apart and continue to shriekingly believe their own farts even as they begin to choke on the gasses.

If Toei knows, then it's waiting on the result of the lawsuit. Two things do not play out well at all for Japanese companies.
1) Being associated with a sex pest who got caught. Bonus points for one hiding behind their piety.
2) Being associated with unscrupulous liars with no moral backbone whatsoever, who dragged an innocent man's name through the mud that they themselves hand picked for the most successful movie of their IP stable released to the American Market.
If it's number 1, they drop Vic, congratulate Funimation for a job well done, everything carries on.
If it's number 2, everyone gets fired, Sabat and his mouldy studio is thrown in a dumpster, and Toei talks to Sony about either clearing Funimation out top to bottom, or founding a new company to handle the contracts.

You know, that LaChoy and Rial will use the Pokemon TCG as "fans" in any shot. Like I said, that Docs place starts looking pretty fucking cramped when there's just 20 or so people inside, so if only 10 people turn up for the whole fucking day it's going to be hailed a huge
huge success.
As funny as the greentext was, I can't see any autist being bullied into parting with $20 for non-Pokemon TCG shit, especially from VAs who weren't in any Pokemon shows whatsoever.
Ron will just sneer at anyone who just goes "No thanks, hear for the tournament" and walk straight past them.
Assuming they're not being stuffed at the fucking back of the store, out of the way of the tournie.
