Kinda off topic, but let’s send our prayers to Lionsgate when RJ fucks them the same way he did Luke.

I'm calling bullshit. Lucas has been visibly butthurt in interviews that Disney ignored all his ideas for the sequel trilogy and more or less told him to gtfo once he cashed their check.![]()
ST - The Development Of The ****** Trilogy
This thread is intended to clear up some major misconceptions regarding the development of TFA. Anything that adds to the overall picture goes in this...boards.theforce.net
This thread is claiming (supported by tweets that are long gone) that TFA was mostly the brainchild of George Lucas and not Jew Jew Abrams. I also feel like this might have come up in this thread before but I wasn't sure so I'm posting it anyway.
Lucas has said a lot of shit since the 1980s, that there were always meant to be only two trilogies yet there are notes and interviews saying otherwise floating around, that the Special Editions were the "final draft" of what he really envisioned for the Original Trilogy, that the entire story is "the Tragedy of Darth Vader" when the original movie (and later its sequels) was called "The Adventures of Luke Skywalker", etcI'm calling bullshit. the old Nine Movies plan was so well known back in the day Mad even made up "lol Star Wars prequels and sequels fucking crazy amirite" synopses back in the 80sLucas has said a lot of shit since the 1980s, that there were always meant to be only two trilogies yet there are notes and interviews saying otherwise floating around, that the Special Editions were the "final draft" of what he really envisioned for the Original Trilogy, that the entire story is "the Tragedy of Darth Vader" when the original movie (and later its sequels) was called "The Adventures of Luke Skywalker", etc
He's not really a reliable source of info considering he says one thing and revises it and won't ever release the original statement to the Library of Congress as requested, trying to BS them with an edited statement instead
Even Lucas' statements on the development of Star Wars have Special Editions. I mean if he really always meant Luke and Leia to be siblings he could have digitally moved Leia to make out with Chewie or 3PO in the Special Edition of Empire like he did with Han in the Greedo scene.Lucas has said a lot of shit since the 1980s, that there were always meant to be only two trilogies yet there are notes and interviews saying otherwise floating around, that the Special Editions were the "final draft" of what he really envisioned for the Original Trilogy, that the entire story is "the Tragedy of Darth Vader" when the original movie (and later its sequels) was called "The Adventures of Luke Skywalker", etc

To be fair though, Mark's description pretty much sums up all of the Disney SW movies.Mark Hamill is pressing X to doubt.

Well, I guess Disney really either hates Star Wars or have fired their finance experts.Much to my surprise, RJ's trilogy may not be the figment of his imagination I thought it was. We shall see. I'm also not sure why LucasFilm didn't ask him to keep his mouth shut until Star Wars Celebration. Or maybe they did and he figured he'd ignore them for cheap publicity for this movie. Dunno.

There's a lot of concept art floating around from pre-Disney Lucasfilm that shows they at least got a few building blocks from Lucas' version. The character of Rey (Kira) on a junk planet (which is much more interesting looking in the Lucas concepts) seeking out a hermit Luke was pretty much from Lucas. His version also involved an Imperial remnant, but that was pretty inevitable no matter who wrote the story. There was also a "Jedi killer" involved which sounds like it is resurfacing in some form in Episode IX.![]()

I posted more info on this with more concept art many pages back if you're interested in knowing more about the original VII by Lucas. It wasn't perfect (far from it) but it was far more original than what Jar Jar Abrams gave us and it actually took a few cues from the old lore (including a rejected concept from the 80s) while still being original and unique. Sadly I can't remember on which page I posted it all... Does anyone else remember? The chad Kira vs. the virgin Rey.
I'm curious where they would have gone had Lucas been constructing everything. The PT isn't great by any means but it's spawned a deep fondness from fans over the years and has managed to continuously produce fun memes. Which is way more than I can say for anything JJ's ever made. Seriously, are ANY of his works fondly remembered? Lost was only great during its first season before it fell apart on its ass. Into Darkness made me want to maim small children it was that awful. The guy's a hack.
How long ago did you post it? I really can't remember too well, but I think it was a little bit after @JohnDoe's last post in this thread where he was arguing with that ticket guy. I'll have to try a thorough search later. How long ago did you post it? Search function only goes back to January and page 300 was reached in December
Abrams was barely involved with Lost after the pilot episode. He wandered off to do a Mission Impossible movie shortly after the pilot wrapped and cut entirely loose after the first season even though he kept getting a producer credit.Lost was only great during its first season before it fell apart on its ass.
A -white, cis, neonazi, incel, Russian hacker- man can dream. It'sas hell but maybe 9 will flop hard enough that they will put a stop to this and go for a hard reset of everything they have done or just pretend it never happened and do something not terrible.
oes this mean time travel bullshit is finally confirmed? I hope the Knights of Ren turn out to be alternate versions of Emo Ren from different timelines which implies some ridiculous "crossover" multiverse/timeline war for the finale of IX. That would just make everything so perfect in terms of clusterfuckery.
The one where Kylo Ren-224 forgot to close the door of the spacetime anus on his way in which allowed a flood of cosmic shit to flood us in a sea of chaos apparently. What is this timeline?
