Despite our grossly exaggerated reputation of chauvinism, there's actually seven women (not wahman) that I've been really impressed with in all this.

This chick.
Nick's wife.
Ty's eldest daughter.
The Amazons (x3) (I'll just go ahead and presume the third one is fine).
@emspex

Maybe add Supergirl. I dunno.

The human race might not yet be doomed. Maybe.

Absolutely we cannot forget our Doxemon champion @emspex. She helped tard wrangle this thread from beginning.

Someone should point her to Ya Boi Zack

I dunno if Zack would like the manga style. Only anime-related thing I ever heard him mention was the fact he was amused by One Punch Man. I know EvS said he's mostly disinterested in manga. That's why he's been mainly quiet on all this since Pensacon.

So my friend who kinda knows what's been going on with the Vic drama was watching fairy tale on the FUNi website for free, but they sent me this saying this never happened before while watching for free and they said they have watched multiple seasons of shows on their site for free. But now they are suddenly only allowing you to watch it with premium now
717784

Is this normal or did they just randomly remove free access? I don't use the site so I don't know personally
Edit: They also said they only made you watch ads, and now instead they are asking for premium

I've had premium for a few years now, but even for me sometimes the site wigs out and tells me to log in, even when I'm already logged in. Seems to happen with older(ish) shows.

The industry absolutely existed since the late 80s. I was around to see it. US Renditions was founded in '87 (and subbed Gunbuster in '90). Streamline Pictures was formed in '88, and dubbed Akira the same year. Animeigo was also founded in '88 and released Maddox-01 (where the infamous cuck himself takes his name from) in '89. Central Park Media came in '90.

A-Kon, where the chair abuser was fired from, was formed in 1990, and is presumed to be the oldest US anime convention.

I could go on...

No, the industry wasn't exactly like today (VHS and Laserdisc, instead of BD and streaming), and many of the OG companies don't even exist anymore, but it did very much exist.

AFAIK, there's one list, and that's what I linked. I'm confused why you think there's two.
Remember when all that US MANGA CORPS stuff started hitting the shelves, and like the first time you watched MD Geist and nibbas was getting stabbed in the forehead while flying a helicopter? Man, those releases were such a revelation to someone raised on the rounded edges of saturday morning cartoons.

Idk what possessed me to go on to PULL today. Instantly regret it. You know, initially i thought it was just a joke saying people on KickVic were complete idiots. Now... jesus... I cant even :stress:

"We should forgive Pridemore because it was a long time ago and she said shes's truly sorry"

Nick did his 'Blackface' a long time ago too. He brought Drexel on to show who he was impersonating and asked if he felt offend over it as Nick was impersonating him. just for context.

What do our actions have to do with Vic's innocence exactly? We aren't representing him in the case.

Shane is losing it. I don't think I've seen him this unhinged. It's like half of his brain knows April 15th is coming, and the other half is trying to convince the first half it isn't.

Bold of you to assume that Shane even has half a brain.

Gonna have to press X to doubt on this one. 5 kids are expensive and if after that there is money to be spent and it's being given to some stripper rather than lady rackets nick would not be long for this world.

Of course this is what all of us "incels" who have normal relationships and kids understand. The only people who have money to spend on strippers are sad lonely men or people with more money than they know what to do with. Since I doubt raisedbywolves is the latter I am going to assume he is the former.

The RBW account was only created on 29 March.

This is just weird. wtf is there to "debate"?

View attachment 716729

Even more weird. Wants to imply that he might be a lawyer but still wants to "debate" someone he knows to be represented by counsel.

Think i've seen him donate money to nick's super chat to get some spergish message out. Think they did it multiple times too. Always entertaining to watch people give the person they're fighting against, real money for like a second of attention before they fade back into obscurity :story:

As for the lawyer part, he isn't. All he's said is that passing the bar isn't as hard as it used to be. If he were a real lawyer, he wouldn't be trying to have a go at Nick from behind an anonymous account. On the off chance that he is, exactly what is he going to dispute with Nick now that Nick has shown exactly what the Texas code says about sexual assualt ?

No. Men can't be raped.

Sorry not sorry for assuming your chromosomes.

Ain't that the truth according to recent narratives. What's really hurtful is that in some countries/states, the male who was raped is also required to pay child support to his rapist should they fall pregnant, have the kid, and file for child support.

"THIRTY WOMEN!"

You know, when this all started, I thought Ron was just an idiot at law. Now I realise he's just an idiot in general, possibly at shane's level. I mean the guy has a respectable job and dresses up quite proffessionally in his photos. Typically you would expect someone like that to at least be slightly more intelligible than your average Joe. How wrong I have been...

Is this some sort of reverse auction? I swear, it's just embarrassing how they can't stick to a set number of women they claim Vic assaulted. "100, 50, 30, 25, 15, 30"

"he encouraged fans to go after detractors at any cost"
wow just a straight up lie

Ron: "WhErE hAvE wE lIeD???"

Well, It's right on that piece of paper now Ron.

ON FUNIMATION PROPERTY. I HOPE WE'RE ALLOWED TO SEE THE SECURITY CAMERAS/RECORDS OF ATTENDANCE THERE.

Rumor has it it's going to be released as part of the bonus scenes on the DBZ box sets coming out. Order now and you can also get a bulma figurine that screams sexual assault everytime you so much as breathe on it.

Sexual assault is hair pulling now, despite sexual assault usually needing penetration
:story:

Well, if he pulled their hair and then inserted it into his urethra....:story::story::story:

BONUS ? MEME: ?

ok so Nick just posted this about an hour ago on Twitter

Now alot of people think he's referencing Renfamous or another orca. However, I found a little nugget that was posted an hour before Nick's that is definitely what he is referring to

Why is he dragging Sean into this now? I mean besides calling him a beta, there hasn't been many jabs Nick has taken at Sean

Well, for some anime history, NBC used air Astro Boy, Speed Racer and other Tatsunoko productions, mainly Gatchaman/Battle of the Planets during the 1960s. Gigantor was aired on an older channel around New York City/New England. Those were actually some big hits back then before a cooldown into the 1970s.
Late 1960's? I remember both running alongside Captain Kangaroo in the NYC area.

Funny you mention that. I grew up about halfway between NYC and Philly. I could watch Battle of the Planets on local network TV, but had to watch a New York station for Starblazers (screw school, that was the one and only reason to get out of bed on weekdays!) and could only see Speed Racer on a Philly channel on UHF when the reception was good. This was in the mid 70's.

Think Nick is trying to lure Ren into admitting she is a very large sea mammal but that is just my opinion.

Wasn't there an anime movie adaptation of Journey to the West released in the United States during the 60's?

Yes although I think it was very late 60's-early 70's. I'm not sure on theatrical release, but it aired TV on Christmas Day once or twice somewhere around 1972 or so. I think it was WOR NYC's channel 9? (I'm going by fuzzy memory here)

I believe the oldest anime brought over and translated/dubbed was Kimba the White Lion. With Astro Boy (Mighty Atom) and Gigantor (Tetsujin 28) not long after. Speed Racer came a little later as it was able to capitalize on color broadcasting. The 70's had far fewer brought over. But what did land, landed rather big in the after school timeslots. Battle of the Planets and Ty's beloved Starblazers. In the 70's US animation was largely dominated by Hanna Barbera. They owned Saturday morning, and afterschool was older Flintstones and Jetsons reruns. The only Japanese stuff we got semi regularly was Godzilla and Gamera and such. (Ah the old 4:30 movie) Anime didn't go big again until everyone was looking for cheap shit to ride the Star Wars craze.

Yeah, Starblazers was on Channel 9 out of NY (later Newark) I think WOR. Speed Racer was airing in the early 70's early morning, alongside Captain Kangaroo. I always remember it was Speed Racer, Thunderbird and Captain Kangaroo for awhile. I want to say CBS Channel 2 off the Empire State Building.

Yikes. Wikipedia has a ton of shit on this topic.... (yada yada I use Google but what can you do)

I think that might be Alakazam the Great.

Wa--wait. If they haven't had an HR department... how did they conduct the investigation?
I'm pretty sure that wasn't saying that they didn't have an HR department as much as saying its full of SJW's and might as well not even be an HR department.
Bold of you to assume that Shane even has half a brain.
Oh come on Shane has a brain... half of it is one cell that rubs against the other cell that's slowly dying.

That's mainly remembered because Disney stole it and turned it into The Lion King.

There may be a bit more to it than that. BY all accounts Walt Disney and Ossamu Tezuka were quite friendly and openly admired each others work, and had years long correspondence with each other. So at least at those early stages they may have been being developed as two different projects stemming from casual conversations amongst colleagues. So Disney's desire to make the Lion King goes back to old notes and treatments from Walt. But the modern animators did it no favors by copying much of Tezuka's art style from Kimba when it finally got made in the Eisener era.

That's the one. The movie left a lasting impression on me back in the day. But it would be years before I would discover it was a Journey to the West adaption.

Tbf men get raped too. By males and females. Tho doesn't seem like any have been in this context.

Anyway I almost thought when you said Journey to the West you were referring to Warriors of the Wind aka butchered Naussica. Sad story that one of the main Streamline dub actresses was killed in a horrific car accident.

Sean reactivated his Twitter? Ew.
