That would be because 40K won't back down without enormous blastback from the userbase. The price barrier to entry on WH40K is huge and why it's always been a /tg/ stronghold.
As for the rest of tabletop gaming? /tg/ is content to let it rot. This may seem strange, but you need to understand: This is a time-honored tactic decades old. D&D and other P&P RPGs have had moral panics, censorship, and self-important asshats who don't really care about the hobby before - many,
many times. They're basically going to wait the virus out, much as they did during the Lorraine Williams era, and when the moral panic passes, they'll emerge to reclaim the hobby once more, and there isn't a fucking
thing that WOTC and their gaggle of useless SocJus tagalongs can do about it.
Veterans of the old moral panics know that eventually, these always burn themselves out, and there isn't shit the self-appointed fun police can do to stop the actual fans from gaming how they want. There's a reason that official groups like the RPGA were mercilessly trolled by the likes of /tg/ - nobody can dictate to a DM how the fuck they game, and no one is going to stop a DM from gaming with their friends the way they so choose. The SJWs can gut all the fluff and game mechanics they want and mandate that you have to have four minority trannies per party at official events. DMs will houserule that shit and pay zero mind, assuming they aren't just outright using something like
OSRIC.
