Could you stop pushing incorrect information as if you're an authority? You've been told multiple times it has nothing to do with the tone or jokes of DBZA, it's because they're using actual footage from the show. This is why Funimation has the authority to overrule them, because they're the sublicenser for America. If this were a matter of Toei being offended by this - thus, finding the series actually harmful to the IP - they would overrule Funimation and just have TFS yanked no matter what. Toei doesn't care what the subject of your fanwork is, they only care if you're using what they made (audio/video/pictures). It doesn't even matter if you're monetizing it. If it's not your art/sound entirely, they'll come for you. If it is entirely your creation (even though you're using their IP) then they're probably only going to come for you if you're mass producing it or representing yourself as official.

Honestly, while it's great that everything that helps the case is being archived, I doubt I would want to be paid to go through and explain all this shit to a judge. That's a lot of time interpreting the screams of retards into a palatable statement.

Toei does literally nothing about artists that sell doujins that look like they were made by manga artists in Toei at cons in japan for money without permission of Toei or anyone in Toei and no contact with Toei. the only distinction between them and TFS is that the doujin artists actually make money, hand-draw their things, and their storylines most times are original.

It's definitely Ren. Her everything points to Ren. Shane types and behaves differently. RbW gets involved in CG stuff and thinks it's normal to 'collect scalps' by reporting and 'deplatforming' people. Ren and RbW are clearly identical.

There's also a difference between a limited release, like making a thousand doujin copies you sell at a con, and making an unlimited release, like putting a patch up on a website indefinitely. Even in American companies this is considered different. Indie devs like Toby Fox usually make a point to say that mass produced things are no-nos but handmade/limited stuff are fine to sell.

People who aren't involved with or aware of any of this drama and just care about the Dragonball release. They don't have any ill-will toward Funi, many probably don't know that the bd release is bad, and plenty probably don't even know about Funi's track record with it. They just know it's a cool limited edition Dragonball Z release that's going to have cool stuff on it and thus they're funding it.

He does not seem to grasp that generic apologies are not admissions of guilt. Unless he's explicitly admitting to forcing Monica to do something, it's really not going to apply. And whatever he did say, the Beard already knows and has built his lawsuit knowing whatever it is. This is a stupid argument you make before the person announces they've retained legal counsel. I'm worried about FUNi going down, maybe the current Sony ccreated structure can go down, and FUNi be rebuilt. I get they're hoping to get the $$$ from the uninformed....but if that were the case, I still think it would've been sold out within a day or two.

5 VAs have cancelled and 3 ( ? ) of them have another signing 30 minutes away

Several panels have cancelled (due to an inflated sense of ego and again, being part of those group of fuckwits I mentioned)

Sean schemmel the current voice of Goku is not attending

A bunch of lawyers are going to be present

Kamehacon is fucked. I hope KickVic are happy. They started a movement that in the process not only destroyed a man's career, but destroyed a niche con centered around giving back something of value to the fans and, from the looks of things, are now going to get the biggest dubbing company in America burned to the ground.

Reasonably good Dubbed anime is now going to be a thing of the past. Funimation is going to have to deal with Toei and Sony now having to explain exactly why this whole situation was not handled better and if they can't give a satisfactory answer or atleast reign all their voice actors in, this is going to be one hell of a shit show even if no lawsuits come on Monday.

If Toei has taken notice, and it looks like they have as they rebranded and then cancelled the Prince of all saiyans tour and pulled Horikawa out, they're most likely going to pull all of their IP from Funimation and Bamco and either not distribute them in English or give them to another dubbing company.

Sony is not going to care enough to defend Funimation either. Imagine them buying what they thought was going to be a cool car that a certain group of people (weebs) liked and then that car turned out to be held together by duct tape not long after. My guess is that if Funi can't somehow convince Toei to still give them the rights to their IPs, they're fucked, as both Sony and Toei will drop them.

I already see VAs such as Monica, Sabat and Marchi being fired if they can't prove in a court of law that Vic was guilty of sexual assault/rape and of sexually assaulting them (in the case of Marchi and Rial).

I know Nick has said that this case might not be very significant in the bigger scope but might be in the anime community, but if things go the way we've all predicted, it just might be. This is huge, involving 3 big/well known companies, false rape allegations and a social media witch hunt.

Also, If Vic is proven to be innocent without a shadow of a doubt, this will probably be spammed non stop to be made as public as possible to both discourage fake rape claims (as it defames men almost irreparably and makes it more difficult for survivors to come out with actual stories of rape and to be taken seriously) and to emphasise why reporting rape is necessary.

I've said it before, IF Toei can get rights back, IF VIC is proven innocent in court, (Let's be honest the court system is a 50/50 shot, and it's gammed in the favor of women), what better way to show the American Market still matters, what better way to show they care about the DUB, then to fund and/or help run a DB only con. With the installed KC base, TOEI can swoop in, and help damage control the community. That's assuming this all is over by next year.

I believe Funimation is capable of authorizing things like the Bulma patch, which is why TFS still exists and hasn't been sued into oblivion by Toei despite their numerous YT takedowns. Toei could maybe overrule them, but it'd need to be a big enough deal to veto them instead of just letting Funimation handle it.

There's 'istandwithvic' or 'istandwithbroly' t shirts out there. They're just smart enough to use a silhouette of Broly instead of the actual image. If you look at TFS images you'll see that they use stuff that you can clearly infer is 'x copyrighted character' or a reference to said person without actually being them. The Bulma patch is just Bulma and has her name on it.



TFS main cast are all heavily left leaning. Their twitters tend to be focused on their politics often. You'll also see it come up in their long-running gaming streams like their Nuzlocke or drunk streams. They're just smart enough to know that political jokes age badly and are rarely funny to start with, so they keep that stuff out of their works. They do censor some of their jokes according to their stance, though. Originally in HUA there was going to be a violent rape joke about that crazy woman Alucard impales on a boat, but they decided it was too gross and inappropriate, so they cut it short.



If they were smart it won't ever be public like this again. None of them are.



You assume goodwill with the defense attorney. It can be just as bad if your defendant is friends with the prosecutor. As much as the prosecutor might agree to a plea deal instead of throwing the book at you, the defense can just decide you should plea instead of vigorously defending you. Or, even worse, they'll be trading around 'wins' for their records. You don't want that.

In some case like those you mentioned, then yeah, people should be removed, mainly because there is actual proof of misconduct or tarnishing of the company.
