I think you're view is a little off. Anita had her 15 minutes (if even that much) but now her YouTube channel is about as dry and barren as her womb and no one gives a shit about her. A lot of the turbo-speds on either side have fallen into similar levels of irrelevancy.

You also make it sound like anyone had (or should have had) a notion of what they hell they were doing, which simply isn't the case. A majority of the people involved in GG were young and politically inexperienced. Anyone over the age of 40 was probably emotionally stunted and developmentally arrested to the point that they weren't much different in terms of political acumen.

It was never going to be a contest between skilled opponents. It was always doomed to be a t-ball match by uncoordinated buffoons that mistook paint chips for wall candy.

I wouldn't get too invested or you'll make exactly the same mistakes that Null was pointing out. All of this is far, far bigger than any of us. If it seems like there's a tide that's turning or that "our side is winning" it's taking a very narrow view of humanity. We're idiots, but we learn. We're slowly learning that appeasing the perpetually victimized isn't viable, which is why people are lawyering up instead of rolling over.

We might like to think we're somehow fighting back against moral idiocy, but thinking anything done here will amount to much in the grand scheme of things is giving yourself too much credit, and I think you'll only be disappointed in the end.

Take a step back and just enjoy the madness for what it is. I don't want to sound nihilistic, but there's a middle ground to exist in that's not so wholly involved or completely unattached. Even if the world seems like it's burning, remember that the new growth can't begin until the old growth and the deadwood are cleared out.

Don't think of these idiots as a force to be opposed to, but rather behavior to avoid. Cows exist independent of political philosophy, religious beliefs, or behavior tenants. Regardless of who you are or what you believe, as long as you're not a cow about it, you're likely to make the world a better place in some way. Just don't get so invested in fighting against what you despise that you become it.

Oh my god. I finally sat down and tried to watch shane v nic- not even gonna finish, you know how that ended.

but I thought I could handle 11 minutes of shanes dumbassery.

I barely survived 5.

edit: I would drink but I'm suffered from a migraine caused by a hangover as is. I don't wanna put up with another day of this.

Sci-fi is already fucked, just go check Tor and the Hugo Awards nowadays. But for every moron like NK Jemisin you have someone like Vox Day (who IIRC tried to organize his own stupid shit). However, like with a lot of media nowadays it's easier than ever to do your own stuff and be successful without a major publisher and it just so happens the woke market is inherently a bit limited.

This, the "war" isn't going to be won or lost on some small periphery of nerd culture like dubbed anime or whatever. Something like the Kavanaugh hearings did infinitely more damage to modern social justice culture than the Weeb Wars ever could. Same thing with the Covington kids, assuming they win even some of their lawsuits.

Just read back to see it firsthand. tl;dr, it was much like his appearance on Rackets' stream - repeating himself over and over to our disgust about stuff we didn't want to know while not answering direct questions. I'm sure the others will enjoy talking all about what they found horrifying about it and his marriage.

I have a theory on how @Shane_Yes_That_One met his current father-in-law.

Shane's been in jail before, and we know he likes 'em young so I would not be surprised if his father-in-law was his cellmate and Shane was his bitch during that time. Sex offenders are usually the ones most likely to get raped in the joint, so it's not only possible but also very likely.

Man, Shane's asshole must have been very tight if the guy let his former prison bitch marry his own daughter.
