Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

That's because there was no second investigation. Funi and the conspiring VA's only phrased things to make you fill in the blank that there was a Jan/Feb investigation in your own mind. Remember Sony came in to do the December 2018 one, because Funi's HR was so dysfunctional that nothing they did could pass legal muster. Funi did not have the capability to do a legit internal investigation. (The fact that we hear reports of Samatha Inoue Harte involved should be the huge corroboration of that.) They were playing word games to somehow give you the impression that the Investigation and Vic's firing were related, and that there was a subsequent second investigation. It would appear to be pure un mitigated bullshit. And this in particular seems to be what winds both Nick and Ty up into the white hot fury that we saw last night.

December 2018? I thought that investigation was in the summer of 2018?

Is it too much to hope for that ProZD gets the fat slapped out of him? Preferably along with others publicly KickVic? Not asking he be sued, but it would be nice if he was humbled in some fashion.
Oh my god, is ProZD also KickVic!?!? I grew never having a Facebook/Twitter/MySpace/insert social media platform here, so I was basically unaware of any scandals growing up. I keep to this mindset, seeing what a cesspool it is, but seriously!? How many Youtubers are gonna turn out to be scumbags by the time this is over!?

A lot more, my guy. You can tell who the stupid ones are because they are the loudest.
The smart ones are keeping their mouths shut and their noses clean.

I mean, who would think that any company would be able to conduct an investigation worth anything in at most a week without every employee having simultaneously walked in on him in the act with the fabled 15 25 60 million 27 at at the same time-- which would of course nullify the need for an investigation in the first place?

Are...

...are you suggesting that we're dealing with an actual -gate, and that #kickvic is the watershed?
Oh just wait until people realize that you have multiple companies and the whole 'broken staircase" list/plot. I have been saying "RICO" for a long time now. But then I also said "This all only ends in a courtroom" and "Get lawyers" back when Comicsgate began and people scoffed at that as well.

But here we are, three court cases and counting...and everyone is gung ho today.

You are right. KC proved that you would be stupid to throw out Vic in favor of Rial over petty grievances.

And I think Gen knew that all these years. Whoever they put in to replace him is enough of a cuck that they caved to empty threats by Monica et al. to walk.

Which honestly, would suck for Vic regardless, but Funimation wouldn't have gotten in legal trouble if they didn't make those stupid Tweets.

That's the amazing thing. They could have legally fucked Vic out of work with Funimation. Some idiot with the Twitter account had to go virtue signal though. This has never been about getting bad people (or perceived bad people) out of the industry. This is about virtue signaling and receive ass pats. They don't believe in the maxim of "doing the right thing, even when nobody is looking." Hell, they don't even believe in doing the right thing. This is all PR bullshit.

I can't remember when the Sony investigation was, but my point about them "making their move" has to do with the sale to Sony AND Gen leaving. Which happened over a period of time. Those two things allowed them to do what they did. They fired Vic AFTER the Gen left on February 1st.

Emosh is one of the youtubers who's been covering the Vic case and he is #istandwithvic.
He also attended KamehaCon and was actually one of the volunteer staff there actually. He took a picture with Vic during his signing.

The missing piece is that it wasn't just Rial alone that made enough of a stink. Nick on his stream last night implied that several employees at Funimation threatened to quit unless they got rid of Vic because they tried to get Sony to terminate him by launching an investigation against him but when the investigation done by Sony came up inconclusive, they resorted to plan B to get rid of him in the form of crying and throwing temper tantrums and threatening to walk unless Funi got rid of him themselves. Then after the deed was done, they got whoever manages Funi's twitter account to make an announcement that "following their own investigation" Vic was fired in order to cover up the fact that they sabotaged him behind the scenes to get him terminated because of reasons i.e exceptional exceptionalism.

So we know how they did it, the real missing piece is WHY.
Didn't Monica come out with the whole 'increase the females in VA's' during the con she got habercorn kicked out of?
This gives us an idea or why already.
There is also points that indicate she's apart of a group that want to reduce male in VA to 'increase' the females in VA. We can all doubt that Vic would openly join such a thing and considering he's liked by all his fans and no other VA is as well known or like as he is, it would make sense to target him first.

Isn't he another aspiring voice actor who gets little nobody jobs? Probably wants a good piece of the Anti-Vic pie because he wants some jobs by kissing FUNi's ass and hopes maybe he'll slide up the latter. Might be in on it too since he's butt buddys with FUNi VAs
It's also pretty funny to see him cry on twitter about Vic supporters harassing him when all they seemingly did was mock him. He seems like the guy who if you poke him even the slightest bit he will screech about harassment. I think I also read some embarrassing tweets crying about dislike mobs on his videos (like the act of disliking someone's video in large quantities is harassment, lmao)

Funi BTFO themselves with that fucking retarded bit they added on where they fucking preach about not tolerating harassment and all that dumb gay bullshit. Streisand effect kicked in hard and of course people were gonna dig into it. Like come the fuck on Funi...did you really think you'd get away with making that public statement while letting your employees run amok and engage in the exact behaviors you're decrying without people raising an eyebrow or two? My fucking GOD. That tweet alone SCREAMED "we're being biased pieces of shit".

Once again, I would like to re-introduce
Godswill Ugwa, Jr., the Social Media Coordinator of Funimation.

Based on his posts, the guy seems like a typical anime fan who landed a "dream job." Besides drinking soup in a questionable method,
https://archive.fo/MoRAa , he quoted AOC and responded to a tweet about #BrieLarsonForPresident (https://archive.fo/vx18l). He also seems fine with Sonic's design for the movie (https://archive.fo/CY80P). After weighing his opinion on the bathroom question (https://archive.fo/QMWh0), he thanks AOC for being a "light on what goes on" ( https://archive.fo/fpm9L) to show how woke he is.
As for Mignogna, the only thing about him that he posted on his social media was about how much he enjoyed Vic's rendition of One Piece's "We Are" (https://archive.fo/6o5Zj). He said this just days before Weeb Wars officially started.

Putting Ugwa's lolcow potential aside, there are some serious questions that need to be addressed. Since we know Ugwa's role as Social Media Coordinator, that means he is in charge of whatever message Funimation needs to be put on all of their social media accounts. This leads me to two questions about Funimation's tweets regarding Vic:
  1. Did Ugwa receive a copy from his superiors to tweet word-for-word the update that stated Funimation was not working with Vic and Ugwa simply followed the script?
  2. Did the second tweet come from Ugwa or possibly someone underneath him going "off-script" and he added his own opinions on the matter?
If its the first scenario, Ugwa looks like a patsy or a fall guy just following orders. If its the second scenario, well then....

So was the whole staircase thing ever found to be false?

Situation 2 would have been quelled by now. Companies have higher up management vet anything posted to a social media. And the very few times where anyone in SM has gone off the rails. It gets killed fast due to the known damage that can cause a company. As this has been allowed to persist without any retraction this long, Funimation management has no problem with it being there.

What if... what if this is a long con by Gen himself. What if he set up for Funimation to burn itself to the ground... only to found Mignognamation with Gen himself as the new CEO?

The pieces are all there guys. Gen leaves Funimation so he won't be caught in the crossfire and has plausible deniability. Vic, seemingly at random, moves back to Texas. These stories, buried for years, come out all at once.

Gen was an inside job

Been holding off editing the OP because the lawsuit keeps getting teased.

Fair enough, but eventually the OP will need to be updated to include the Kameha Con fiasco with VAs (and panelists) withdrawing, Monica's signing at Docs Comics and Games, Vic's success at Kameha Con (with The Beard actually being there), and, of course, Dominique Skye's failed gay op.
