Sounds like it's a common thing. At least with the other people in this case when they scream into the void someone is listening. With this guy no one cares and no one is responding.

No, no, no. WRONG. That's EXACTLY what you need to prove. If you accuse someone of SEXUAL ASSAULT and it's a fucking lie, you have DEFAMED them. So you damn well better prove they are actually guilty of it or that you had a damn good excuse for believing that.

We started getting hints about this back around March 20.
My wild ass guess is pending criminal charges.
Ty mentioned criminal charges non-specifically the next night which was close enough to confirmation for me. Now we know not only did these absolute brainlets communicate false information about a criminal proceeding, but they did it in a discoverable medium.
(19) Denbow’s telling Vic that her investigation was “a confidential matter” did not stop Jamie, Monica, Ronald or other Funimation employees or business partners from urging anime conventions and other studios to terminate their contracts with Vic—telling some that Funimation was conducting an “investigation” into allegations that Vic was a “sexual predator” or that charges were being filed against Vic and he would soon be arrested—or tweeting details about the “investigation”; for example, Ronald would Tweet on February 2, 2019 that Vic “is a predator” based on his (Ronald’s) “nsider knowledge” about Sony’s investigation

Sooooo... a thought I had at the very beggining of Nick's stream tonight:

"Oh, God. They're gonna start going after Haberkorn hardcore now!"
Let them. Let them make the same mistakes they made in going after Vic twice in a row in a short time span. Because God knows these people aren't gonna learn, even with life altering legal consequences about to ruin them. They can get fucked like a two dollar whore by another VA that has a righteous and ironclad case against them. It'll be hilarious to watch.

I wonder how long until ANN starts deleting comments that are ProVic

I don't even care. I guess, in a relative sense, they're less ridiculous than PULL or ResetERA, but they're still gonna run a dumb hugbox that cultivates nothing but dumb.

I'm hoping @emspex sees how lopsided the poll is, calls it before 4:50 PM. and we get that spinoff salt thread soon.

Call me a pussy, but these people are so incredibly disgusting it just makes my head and heart hurt. There's exceptional people on this site you can actually laugh at (Chris, Tommy, DSP, etc.), and then there's people so dumb... so vicious... so amoral... I momentarily lose faith in humanity.

I'm surprised they even reported this at all. They only reported Vic appearing at KamehaCon when Rial pulled out, and focused their article on all the actors dropping because Evil Vic was going.

I imagine they'll start deleting them when the thread starts leaning way too pro-Vic. Gotta keep the narrative that 'everyone clearly is against the guy and nobody wants him back in the industry' which gets undermined when even the ANN forums are siding with him.

No need to wait the 'No lawsuit salt mine' thread is being changed into the 'Lawsuit salt mine' thread

Plus, we've already seen the Beard, with a deathly straight face daring them go after Todd one more time. I suspect Todd won't ask Ty to be as gentle as Vic has or, better yet, tell Ty to do whatever he thinks necessary to defend his firm's honor in the course of his case.

Maybe they can see which way the wind is blowing and hope to be the least painful thorn in Vic's/Ty's side when their gaze falls upon them.
The :optimistic: theory would be they're attempting to show good faith while preparing to preemptively settle?

So Nick covers something called Joint and Several liability.

Apparently if Vic wins $10,000,000, that means ALL of the defendants are on the hook for 10 million, and EACH are on the hook for 10 million.

What that means whomever can pay it first has to pay it -- and then has to sue the other defendants to get their share.

... Isn't it nice that Sony now owns Funimation and is on the hook if Funimation loses in a lawsuit? Sony, who has been dead silent publicly about this? Sony, who quietly fired Vic after a HR Kangaroo court (like I suggested many pages back, because Corporations suck dick).

If Soye, Marchi, and Rial are still hoping for Sony to get them a lawyer, they had better think again. If Funimation loses, they're going to sue Soye / Marchi / Rial to pay Funimation back.

I'm pretty sure ANN only published that article to get the highlighted sentence out publicly.

They're hoping people are too dumb to realize that 'informing ANN' isn't the same thing as 'ANN reported'.

Sad thing is, they're right. People are already saying it's an inconsistency and VIC IS FINISHED

Nah, they've basically repeated some of the defamatory stuff in that article - there's no good faith on display.

We have a winner! Plus, Funi/Sony has been handed a loaded magazine to use against Soye. Ronnie can look forward to a second suit almost immediately, then they leave it on HIM to sue the wahmens. Edit: Hmmm, that doesn't sound right, they probably would go after all three and just be most successful against Soye.

Note that the complaint does not say that Anime News Network reported that Mignogna's employment had been terminated. It says exactly what they quote, that Funimation informed Anime News Network that his employment had been terminated.

In fact, the complaint does not indicate that Anime News Network did anything at all other than be the recipient of such a communication.

Sad thing is, they're right. People are already saying it's an inconsistency and VIC IS FINISHED

What morons say on Twitter because they're too stupid to read or understand what they read is going to be meaningless.

It's also splitting hairs. He was recast because he was canned. I mean, come the fuck on. If you can show there was some sort of suspension period, prior to the firing, I might believe there's a distinction.

But, you're right, Ty said informed. He's probably got proof of it too.
