Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

You could read it yourself, its actually written to where a layman could almost understand all of it. The only part I would highlight is they listed Ron Toye as an Employee or Agent of Funimation. Nick is saying BHBH is going with Agent due to Marchi/Rial saying Toye worked at Funi and Toye/Funimation never tried to clear up such claim (Granted Toye did AFTER he read the lawsuit). Also the fact that Toye had access to a " Confidential " investigation from Funimation that would also add to the fact he could be considered an Agent of Funi.
Huh...that's interesting...
?
As much as I would love to watch the stream now, I'm tied up at work and unable to do so until many hours form now.

Loving the fact that people can't get over the "suing over tweets" thing.

Beth is chuckling softly because she thinks there won't be a round 2 and she isn't in danger of being targeted.

The OP was a fun read but good God society... PLEASE STOP adding "gate" to random words to make something a scandal.

The Democratic HQ break-in of 1972 really shouldn't have happened anyway. George McGovern had no chance to beat Nixon.

-gate is one of the dumbest things chiefly because the whole Nixon snafu was just a more successful 'omg russia' con designed to oust a president they had no chance of beating fairly. It's just dumb to give it validity constantly reusing it, and it's never actually a big enough scandal to compare anyway. It'd be more apt to call it -loo.

He's been a fan of Monica's voice work. He's been critical of Vic's voice work. His old Twitter post implies he had a hateboner for him before #KickVic.

I doubt this has anything to do with him being a "sexual predator."

EDIT

Saw one of his videos. Oh God, his voice.

Lol.

KickVic at Ass News Network is giving us a field day.

It's gonna be like shooting fish in a barrel.
Boy that was fast. "Journalists" work real quick when they have to push a narrative and do damage control because they were exposed for the fuckery they've been pulling.

Intersting that even though she KNOWS that suits have been filed, she still can't shut her whore mouth. These people are amazing. And Beth Elderkin too is another one who can't shut up. For God's sake, what the hell is the matter with them, do they think there is going to be some divine intercession (probably not, because belief in God is so passe, I guess). But still, what are they thinking? I literally can't wrap my head around people who seem to think that they have nothing at all to lose.

Oh totally, Marchi. You have no idea.

Also probably nothing, but I find this interesting nonetheless.

What a moment to come back, huh? or maybe somebody didn't have a choice but to come back now.
Also a dig at christianity. Hope this doesn't mean they'll try to use the forgiving christian nature of Vic as a ticket out because no way that's gonna work with Ty around (but if they wanna do a retarded call whining about it go ahead, it'd be hilarious).
People here seem to think it's unbiased but I find the wording and nipticking to stand in the KickVic side personally which is no surprise. I'm surprised they reported it at all but, like Machi, they have to do something. Let's see how that works out for you, sweeties.
Sooooo... a thought I had at the very beggining of Nick's stream tonight:

"Oh, God. They're gonna start going after Haberkorn hardcore now!"
Hope not, Todd doesn't deserve their bullshit (:_(

They both think real life is twitter (so they can gang up on somebody and get them 'banned' out of everything without need to provide proof) and that using something from twitter as evidence is silly because it's just tweets guys!!!1 The mental gymnastics, I swear.

The coast of California needs to be quarantined off from the rest of the nation.

Give it time, and it might literally break off from the rest of the landmass.

"You're not entitled to the findings of the investigation!"

Then why the hell can Rial and company talk about the investigation or the findings of the investigation? Why does Mr./Ms. Boy Toye have insider info about this confidential investigation? And why can Funimation talk about the investigation?

Also, way to shoot your friend Elderkin in the back, MarzGurl-- even she said that the "first" (read: only) investigation in 2018.

Boy that was fast. "Journalists" work real quick when they have to push a narrative and do damage control because they were exposed for the fuckery they've been pulling.

Problem is, they're neither fast, powerful, consolidated, nor discrete enough to effectively gaslight.

I was thinking of cluing Nick into your CA background (if he didn't already know), but I recalled you said you had no opinion on all this when I first asked, and so I assumed you wanted to be left out.

As much as i'd like to be on Nick's show (or anyones, really) to pimp my own stuff, I really just don't have much to add to the conversation. I legit have no additional information about the topic at hand.

Hey all, I wasn't able to catch Nick's stream last night in it's entirety because I needed to sleep for work.
Can anyone give me like a quick summary or run down about the lawsuit papers filed?

Quick Summary:

731330

Longer Summary:

Funimation, Marchi, Rial, Soye are being sued. Co-defendants, not sure if each will need their own lawyer or if they can double up on Funimation's. I believe the former.

Lawsuit is for at least 1 million dollars. Likely significantly more.

Soye didn't remove the tweets upon request, so the damages are tripled.

Soye has made specific claims of fact -- "100+ women," "6 friends of mine, " etc etc. He has to provide details and evidence of every single one of these supposed incidents, including their full dox. If he can't, it's defamation and they lose. (They've already admitted they can't.)

Soye, his fiancee, and Marchi were all saying that the insider info that Soye was repeating was confidential. All 3 of them gave the impression Soye was a Funimation employee. Because Funimation never publicly corrected this, Soye counts as a Funimation employee, and Funimation is liable for every single thing Soye said.

Due to some oddity in law, since they're all co-defendants they all owe all of the money and each owe all the money. What this means is Vic will get his judgement from whomever can immediately pay (Funimation / Sony), and then Funimation / Sony will have to sue the other three idiots for their share. That is to say, Ty just gave Funimation a significant incentive to settle and turn on the other three. Thus, the idea that Funimation or Sony will be helping the Three Stooges with representation is laughable.

Nick has a mole in their little clique. It's implied someone's been feeding Nick information, and when they find out they will feel almost as betrayed as Vic has felt.

There were hints that they were intentionally doing this because they felt that Vic might be suicidal and this would cause him to kill himself.

Apparently there's evidence that one of them was openly praying for an underage rape victim to appear. In writing.

Apparently there's evidence that one of them admitted in private that they didn't actually have any evidence that Vic did anything wrong.

Sony performed the investigation on Vic. They cited 3 incidents. One was him eating a Jellybean. Another was a hoax about how they totally heard he slept with fans at a con once. Another was a consensual kiss between him and a coworker. All three were stupid HR Bullshit but Sony still fired him for it -- I called this 100~ pages back. Basically, HR is likely staffed by Dangerhairs who will support other Dangerhairs, and HR is going to take the stance that it's easier to fire Vic and risk him suing them for wrongful termination (unlikely) than not fire Vic and have Dangerhairs sue for hostile work environment. (Near guarantee.)

Someone was telling cons about the investigation before the investigation happened.

Someone was telling cons about the investigation during the investigation.

Someone was implying that Vic would be arrested for raping a child to the cons during the investigation.

Someone was telling cons about the investigation right after it happened.

It was implied heavily that KC and other con owners came forward with evidence that the clique was trying to blackmail them over Vic. KC apparently immediately after the con ended.

The HR lady from Sony fired Vic and then 2 weeks later Funimation did a public virtue signal post, or as the Texas Narrator says it, "It was at this point that our good ol' boys at Funimation dun fucked up."

Ty has ANOTHER SJW vs geeky hobby company in Texas set up, this one heavily implied to be GRUPS et all being targeted by some Dangerhair Troon with a Nazi Haircut. It is also mentioning the broken staircase terminology that was being used to organize the industry blacklist / SJW "hit list" for anime -- i.e., we might be seeing a new form of SJW organization wherein they publicly organize enemies lists to destroy. Because there's never been any pushback about this sort of thing before.

If I've said it once I've said it a hundred times: talking shit on Ty Beard earns them no good boy points. Ty Beard is an extremely high octane attorney, which is the reason he was picked. He's had several high profile clients and is well known for going to insane extremes to dumpster is opponents. That's literally how they went from 2 recent law school grads to an 11 person, multi-discipline operation. It's both impressive to the observer and should be fucking terrifying to anyone staring down the barrel of this thing. Even if Ty doesn't win, he will take you down kicking and screaming with him. That is the specific reputation he has built. I simply cannot understand their smug attitudes. Even if I was 100% innocent, if I was being taken to court by Ty Beard, I would at least consider my settlement options.

I've actually stayed there, it backs right up to the Potomac. OT but Nixon didn't burn down because of the break in, he was sufficiently insulated. It was his loyalty to those that did it and his subsequent cover up to try and protect them.

I actually had a modicum of respect for him until a FOIA petition revealed his complicity in a number of awful official secrets and subterfuge that made Watergate look like a candy bar taken from Kroger.

Sorry, I'll return to trying to keep up with the thread at hand.

Let them run their stupid mouths. Marzgurl just admitted to knowledge of 2 "confidential" Funimation investigations and the contents therein. Way to provide more evidence of conspiracy and to a lesser degree being an agent. Going to be fun for her, ANN and Io9 when it eventually goes to round 2. Pain trains a-comin.

Wow, thanks for all that juicy info. looks like my theory about Sony was all wrong then. I was under the impression that Sony weren't the ones who fired Vic and that it was in fact Funimation HR that did and that the Soy Squad was using Sony as a cover up.

Feels good to get the truth. :story:

Using google to look up law because you're not a lawyer and know nothing about law = instantly an expert
:story::story::story:

Edit: Wait..do they actually think that Sony is going to defend them? That's hilarious.
