This female archetype is starting to make me pretty salty, online and off. There are a lot of them in coastal cities and the smug is real. The entitlement is realer and the aversion to the hard grind of perfecting a craft? Why, that's the realest.
Successfully calling these types on their bullshit tends to incite a very harsh response, so I urge everyone to take care when dealing with these creatures in the IRL sphere. Full escalation right off the bat is not unheard of, so proceed with care.

I don't know how many here are musicians but musical instrument sales like guitar/drums/bass have taken a massive hit in recent years because in part, many of those that should be their traditional customers flatly refuse to put in the effort. There is a massive rise in DAW cut and paste 'music' these days because all one has to do is buy some premade midi files, some loops and BLAMMO! they made music. It's usually awful music, but it is what it is.

The practice of live electronic music (especially performing original material on machines) is becoming a Lost Art. The ethos of ingenuity that drove people to work with what they had is gone, as is the notion that things shouldn't be 100% assembled in post-production.
As a result, pretty much every company stopped making live machines.

Everybody is saying Ron's lawyer is competent, and there's an argument to be made (made by Ty, in fact) that it's that's a gigantic waste of money for Ron and Monica to try for a TCPA dismissal. I think he'd at least try to talk them out of it.

But you're correct that if they go for one, Ron is being inconsistent with his stated desire for everything to come out in discovery. Competent lawyer or no, the client is ultimately in the driver's seat of his own defense.

I'm still iffy on when and why the burden of proof shifts from the plaintiff to the defendants in this particular case. Is it a Texas thing and/or does it have to do with the specific charges being brought against them? Or is it something else entirely? I feel like I get the general idea as to why the defendants have to prove their accusations are true, but I couldn't explain it to someone in legal terms if I had to.

It's a legal concept called affirmative defence. It means that once the plaintiff has established the key elements of their claim, you must actively put something before the court a specific type of defence to defeat them.

Truth is an affirmative defence to defamation in many jurisdictions. In a difference context, most people are aware that collection of debts is generally statute barred after a certain period of time - a debt being statute barred is an affirmative defence against a lawsuit to collect it.

It's always possible that Ronnie will try settling but I honestly don't see it. He and Monica are showing themselves to be so reality disconnected and entitled that I doubt there is anyone that will get through to either of them. It's why I post about reopening mental institutions and cult deprogrammers.

Thats the bill that was funding a lot of the bullshit media groups. It isn't just the pocket universe of Anime thats noticing the loss in number of attack pieces across the board.
