Chris-Chan Arrested and in Jail, awaiting Hearing on Monday (28-Dec-2014)

I wonder if he can even be bailed before his arraignment. Particularly given he's likely facing a felony charge.

WHAT bail? The inheritance money is gone and Barb is drowning in debt so badly that she's taking out loans on one car after the other just to pay for a month's rent. Christard just stuck a knife in her back at the worst possible time imaginable.

I wonder if it's possible to clear it up a little bit, I can hardly understand anything that's being said.

Yeah, this. :)
I'll give the gist, because the actual transcription does not matter.

Caller (thick accent): Can I ask about an inmate you have?
Jail: Lemme guess, Chandler?
Caller (surprised): I'm the first person to call about this inmate!
Jail: No, you're like the third.
Caller: So you have him in jail?
Jail: Yes. He has video court in the morning.
Caller: Oh, okay. Can I ask for more information?
Jail: Like what?
Caller: Are charges being pressed?
Jail: Oh yeah. He like pepper sprayed someone. If you call back sometime tomorrow there might be more information.

Call ends roughly there.

"Oh, Life on the outside ain't what it used to be.
Y'know, the world's gone crazy,
and it ain't safe on the streets.
Well, it's a drag, I know,
there's only one place to go.
Baby, back where I come from,
I'm comin' home..."

He'll hate the gamestop employee for the rest of his life. He'll never stop believing that the gamestop employee is a bad person for defending himself. But maybe, just maybe, he'll understand that assaulting people gets him in trouble, and maybe he'll learn to keep his seething hatred to himself forever.
I think that is the point. Noone expects Chris to come out of this saying "What I did was wrong, and I am not the victim".

The hope is that he is able to say to himself "If I decide to take the perfectly reasonable action of vandalising stores and antagonizing and attacking people around me, I will be victimized. That is outrageous but there is nothing I can do about it. I better not do it anymore."

Whatever happens, I hope he is actually forced to see a therapist. I believe it was strongly recommended that he go to therapy after the Snyder thing, but that would cut into lego bucks.

He really needs help if he thinks its ok to act this way though. He's gone completely off the rails.
He's gonna see the rapist
You know, I absolutely want to see Chris go to jail. For the same reason I would want anyone who commits violent crimes and can't be reasoned with to go to jail. It's the only possible way he'll learn not to assault people.

I've been on the fence about it for a long time but Chris is probably a risk to the general public if he's going around macing people. Its also bizarre how he treats women too. Chris will probably be in a special tard unit with other protected weirdos some chomos and some snitches

No one's bailing him out this time, I trust? He's very obviously out of resources and friends to call, which means he's stuck again.

I'm not really sure how things work in the states but where I'm from if you're locked up over a weekend you stay in lock-up till monday where you go to court and they decide if they're pursuing the charges or not and how much your bail will be set at

is it possible that Chris may be sentenced to prison for a long length of time or possibly a life sentence depending on what crime he's committed? I'm asking this because as of right now I don't know what crime Chris has committed

Chris won't do life in prison for this, try to use your brain. Murderers and Jack The Ripper style rapists rarely get life.

Possible crimes Chris may be charged wit*h:

*note: it's common in these kinds of things to charge people with everything, no matter how stupid, and let most of them be discharged/pled away, leaving the "meat" behind. Chris is unlikely to be found guilty of all of the following, even by plea arrangement.

- Misdemenour trespassing, one count or multiple, depending on if he was banned from the mall (one count) and/or the individual shops within. He could face one count, or up to three that we know about.
- Felony trespassing, for carrying a weapon into private property without permission (the mall will likely have a no-weapons policy).
- Felony assault (use of pepper spray). Surprisingly this is the least likely to be charged with; the victim has to press charges and he might have washed the shirt, destroying the best evidence, and the witnesses may not have seen the event or may not be able to be located. Store security footage may be useless given how far away from the back (the most likely covered area) he was.
- Misdemenour vandalism.
- Misdemenour causing a public disturbance/disturbing the peace.
- Misdemenour weapons charges. Pepper spray is sometimes restricted in strange ways and discharging it indoors is almost always a crime (typically dangerous act).
- Assault with intent to flee. Remember that the cops may not have access to the video we do.
- Misdemenour evading justice. Note that turns into a very serious felony if combined with...
- Resisting arrest/assaulting an officer. Pure speculation but I would not be surprised.

My "Drunken Ukrainian Not Lawyer" prediction is Chris gets three misdemeanors and a felony and does 5 days to 3 weeks inside.

53 pages in (combining the old thread) and nobody's asked the important question; why is there still a Sonic Boom display in Gamestop? The game came out 2 months ago and flopped. It's almost as if they left the display up to troll Chris...

GameStop is inherently lazy. I worked there 10 years ago, and we kept 50 Cent Bulletproof displays up for close to six months. When I went to dispose of it finally it broke the trash compactor.

Because what should've been the last resort of last resorts might be the first serious attempt to help Chris -- and even if he does end up turning out for the better, incarceration is still going to extract its psychological pound of flesh from him. Even if you know that someone is something of a dumbass, you kind of have to feel for someone who has fallen through almost every non-punitive safety net (friends, school, family, church, a previous brush with the law, etc.) and is only just now learning lessons he ideally would've learned two decades ago. You kind of get attached to the guy who wrote your favorite kitsch webcomic, you know?
I think I comprehend your statement.

It's odd. It was obviously likely to happen but for some reason I still can't believe this dumbass got arrested again. A big part of me expected his dumb luck to save him again.

I wonder how Barb's role in this will change considering she isn't also arrested this time?

I was under the impression that Chris having to see a therapist was part of the plea-bargain that Bell cut for the Chandlers two years ago. Either the therapy didn't achieve anything, or the court just never bothered making sure Chris actually attended the sessions.
The therapy sessions were to determine if Chris was an immediate threat to anyone. Not to work out Chris problems.

I disagree. Criminals are not born with bad behaviour by default, they are made by their environment and culture. The reality is that prisons exist because society doesn't know what to do with them. Therefore, what easier way than to imprison them? I baffle at the ridiculousness of 'correctional institutes' because the people working at such institutions don't know how to correct people or help them with their problems, they're not trained in that area.
I'm not talking about the hope of prison providing correction to him. I'm talking about the hope that he learns assaulting people gets him in trouble, like a dog getting swatted with a newspaper.
