When Barb goes to the great hoard in the sky, this is just the smallest taste of what Chris would do if he were left to take care of himself alone. A lot of us agreed a long time ago that Chris would very likely spend his life in and out of jail once he was alone. Right now, I'm not so sure about the out of jail part. I think he'll be in protective care in some form or another for most of the rest of his natural.

Well as a repeat offender he might have some charges laid, vandalism and assaault ( possibly aggravated if spraying someone with pepper spray is aggravated )
"Aggravated" assault, by definition, means assault that is provoked by the assaultee somehow. It's basically a way of saying there were mitigating factors that don't get the accused off, but they do explain the situation a bit.

Chris's assault was not aggravated. He picked a fight with no provocation.

Hard to say. Barb is just delusional as Chris on some things and she does have a history of running to her son's defense even when he's obviously in the wrong. On the other hand, Chris and Barb are probably not on very good terms. This is just speculation on my part but if you take into account Chris' tomgirlism, the house fire and October 28...these are all things that Chris has done that no doubt caused Barb a lot of undue stress.

If, because of Chris's stupidity, Barb loses even a small part of her precious hoard, there will be hell to pay I'm sure.

I'm really curious about how Barb will react to this if/when Chris returns home. Could this be the last straw for her? Is she going to punish him in some way? Is there another "surprise" haircut in Chris's future? Will we see a return of the high watermark jeans and clown shirts.
I strongly suspect a lot of Chris tomgirl outfits will be 'lost during the move'

See, I thought he wouldn't wind up in jail, because even Chris would learn to be careful. But no, he has learnt literally nothing at all from his previous arrest, not even "if you break the law you will be arrested."

Up till now, he regarded being arrested as a mere inconvenience. During his last stint in jail, he raised a ruckus, did a "genie with the light brown hair" thing (still don't know just WTF that's supposed to mean) and even went on a mini hunger strike by refusing to eat the jail food until he got his way. Even during his sentencing he just HAD to bitch about Snyder. Chris is a very, very arrogant and belligerent manbaby. Chris shouldn't get the guillotine, but he does need some traumatically bad stuff to happen to him in order to unfuck that massive ego complex of his.

I have the feeling that she will defend Chris regardless if she has all the facts or not. I am actually surprised she has not been arrested too.
Why? She didn't actually do anything this time.

Ironically, Chris is the reason most of the hoard got destroyed in the house fire and I doubt she even remotely considered he was at fault. Granted, she was also partially to blame because it was a disaster years in the making through eroding that cord via a door all 14BC residents used on a daily basis, but it was he who made the coffee of doom.

I think Chris sang the song "Jeannie (With the Light Brown Hair)" as a morale-booster and/or to annoy the jailers.

The question of whether Chris actually knows the words or tune of that 1850s Stephen Foster hit is certainly open. I have a really good memory for lyrics, but that song is so boring and highfalutin that it's hard to keep in your head.

Ten bucks says he knows it from Bugs Bunny.

All those discussions where people said "naw, don't be crazy, Chris knows how to keep himself leashed now, he won't be going to jail again"...

Anyway, I can't really make it out, but is he going to be sitting in jail til his court hearing? Or is he going to get bailed out by a naive church counselor?

1) Yeah, pretty much.
2) Not after he disowned her and his church, she's not.

I think Barb was responsible for the house fire. I think that was her coffee. (Unless they did something like make ramen in the coffee maker.) And she doesn't consider Oct 28 Chris' fault. (And in fact, Oct 28 is just as much, if not more, her fault. But of course, the facts don't really matter that much to Barb.)

I always wondered about that. Chris doesn't seem like the coffee type.
