He was on probation, not parole.
Virginia's Department of Corrections website lumps the two together every time they get mentioned, so it's hard to tell if they treat them the same or differently.

For some reason, I just imagine it like the final moments of a Twilight Zone episode. Chris is sitting miserably in his cell, he looks out the window and sees Clyde Cash, who's laughing smugly as he walks arm and arm with PandaHalo, with their kid beside them. Chris just looks at this in silence, then begins to scream out "Damn you Clyde Cash! Damn yoooooooooooou!"

"NOOOOOO", he gasped, as the brave Christian collapsed on the floor (heart level at 1%).

A harsh jerk-op intones in a Charlie Brown voice "your bail has been paid."

Before his highly functioning mind can process, he hears a sweet voice... "I came all the way from Kentucky for you, CWC", said the gal wearing an apology sign and blue sailor outfit.

If, because of Chris's stupidity, Barb loses even a small part of her precious hoard, there will be hell to pay I'm sure.

Came here just to see if anyone had said it.

Chris just got himself arrested and is possibly going to be held over the final few days that their rental house is paid for. His mother has no money, no friends, and no family besides Chris. All of that new hoard? All the filth they've accumulated in the rental house? Without Chris, it has to be hauled out and loaded onto a truck, and then delivered and unloaded into an active construction zone by a 73 year old parasite riddled woman with no assistance.

I'm not a psychic, I have no way of knowing how these events are going to unfold. And I don't say what I'm about to with glee or excitement. It's more of a sobering realization. But Chris may have just literally killed his mother. Seniors have heart attacks shoveling snow off their walk every year. Having to move mouse-riddled furniture and heavy boxes of clutter could actually finish her off for good. That is, if she doesn't try to abandon the bulk of her hoard (and then have to deal with a furious landlord billing her for hiring movers to scrap the rest).

Now this next thing, I DO say with a small measure of shameful spiteful glee. If she does decide she just lacks the strength to get her entire hoard out, what's gonna be first on her list of shit she doesn't care about?

Farewell Lego CWCville. We hardly knew ye.

I doubt she would put in the effort to move the hoard herself, and I doubt she'd abandon or junk any significant portion of it. She'd sooner squat in her cave of Barbage until Crisshun is home to help move it.

I'm a lawyer, I haven't read the whole thread, but I know that it's going to be a bunch of blind speculation. Here's the real shit:

-Chris can't get bailed out until after his arraignment.
-His bond will likely be between $1-5,000 but could be higher if the judge is a hard ass.
-The fact that he's getting video arraigned means he's probably up on state charges and not municipal charges. This means it's probably a more serious charge and could be a felony but is likely a high grade misdemeanor.
-Chris is likely on the track for a public defender, depending on the charges.
-Unless he fucks up real bad or just refuses to get a lawyer he will get probation and/or a fine.
-Jail time is not likely, but not out of the question. If he gets it it will almost certainly be 120 days or less.
-If Chris goes into jail it will be unlikely he ever gets out because he will keep doing shit to get more time. If he's lucky they'll put them in segregation or similar so he can stop getting new charges.

Nice post. I have a few questions you might be able to answer.

1: What's the purpose of video arraignment, exactly? Why wouldn't he be arraigned in person?

2: What kind of facility would Chris end up in if his sentence is as short as you suggest (<120 days)? That would just be county jail, right? If he somehow really get fucked and goes to an actual prison, what level of security would that probably be? I'm guessing since his offense involves physical violence, it wouldn't just be a minimum security correctional facility?

Oh Lord...
Chris, given his Prior's, is going to see at worst a few years in the Thug Jug (assuming he's found guilty of everything we suspect he'll be charged with AND that he had his Probation extended so this would count as violating that) and at best get moved into a "facility" for a similar length of time.

No matter how you slice it, he will not be going back to 14 Branchland any time soon.

And not to A-Log, but if Chris does get Jail time, i don't think it's out of the question for Barb to actually commit Suicide over it. She already has a fear of Chris being taken away from her (just like back in Elementary when Borb thought Chris getting help with is 'tisum meant him being locked away in a Asylum for the rest of his life), and she could see this as the same thing. The Government taking her Baby away forever (or 1-3 years, but it doesn't matter).

Then Chris would find himself a Ex-Con alone in the world....He might "follow" after her.

Video arraignment just saves them on transporting prisoners.

If he went to a Jail or prison is largely a local practice. He'd be in the state pen here because our county jail is full as fuck, but they might have room for short timers in his area.

I would bet that if he gets a judge with even a little bit on the ball, at the arraignment, the judge is going to call for a 72 hour psych evaluation. Chris has a pattern of aggressive behavior with the Michael Snyder incident. And he has been caught shoplifting and vandalizing store displays before.

I don't know if it has been mentioned before, but the security guy in yellow appears to be wearing plastic gloves. He wasn't planning to search Chris for shoplifted goodies was he? That would put Chris in orbit REALLY fast.

Now I feel even worse for the owner of the rental, because I'm sure you're right. As for Barb committing suicide, narcissists almost never commit suicide.

You might be able to get an idea of what's likely to happen with Chris from lawyers' websites. While the government here keeps statistics on sentences imposed for all types of crimes, the quickest way to find that information is going to a law firm's website - it will have information on both the type of sentence and the period for which it's normally imposed for each type of crime in addition to the minimums, maximums and aggravating factors. Straight reading of legislation often doesn't consider options available to judges, such as diversionary programmes and imposing minimum sentences but suspending them.

It's tempting to say that Chris didn't learn anything from his past experience, but it could also be argued that being on probation did restrain his behaviour in the past and could do so in the future, especially if conditions like anger management programmes and regular counselling are imposed. Whether the particular system in which he's coming before the court would bother with pre-sentence reports for a relatively minor offence against the person is another question - it's probably warranted in the case of Chris but it might not be usual in his jurisdiction.

This isn't the kind of case which typically drags out over days with large amounts of evidence presented to the court and expert opinions considered. It's a pretty mundane crime and neither the prosecution nor the defence is going to be spending huge amounts of time on it.

And yeah, it's kind of interesting that we get so many "what will Chris do when Barb's no longer around" threads but the question of how Barb will manage if Chris isn't around for some reason is rarely considered.

I feel like after Barb is gone this is going to be a weekly thing for Chris. And I can't say I'm not excited.
He'd be homeless and hang around McIntire Park all day, drawing Sonichu on the community chalkboards and scaring kids with his Donald Duck impression. Unless somebody sees the next Rack 'Em Rack Willie in him, police constantly having to arrest him is a far better use of local/regional tax dollars than his federally funded tugboat.

Will Chris be tried in the same court as last time, or is he in a different jurisdiction? Drawing the judge from the last case would probably change the proceedings significantly.
Well, The GAMe PLACe's former location is within the city limits of Charlottesville, which has its own police who likely handled everything. The trial Cyan and Indigo spectated took place at the downtown Charlottesville Circuit Court.

Charlottesville Fashion Square is outside the city limits, so he was likely arrested by the Albemarle County Police Department and then taken to the county jail (which is coincidentally a stone's throw away from PVCC). When Chris gets out of the stony lonesome, the trial will probably be at the Albemarle County Courthouse, also located downtown. He already went to both places when Baggett arrested him at Target in 2005. Considering the tenure of judges, it's almost certain there are people still on the bench from ten years ago.

Interestingly enough, the county courthouse is managed by the Albemarle County Sheriff's Office, a completely separate entity. So many police forces... Maybe it is the reason why Chris hates cops, LOL.

So Chris-watching might be over?

*single tear rolls down face* g... god damn it Chris.

This ride won't end until he's dead, and I don't mean that in an A-Loggy way. What I mean is that as long as Christian Weston Chandler is alive and breathing, somebody somewhere will find a way to open some sort of line of communication with someone close to him. Watch, if Chris is unlucky enough to get jail time, once its announced where he will be serving his time everyone will start looking for for someone who has a brother or a cousin or an old high school friend who's going to be locked up with him and if the weens try hard enough for long enough then eventually they will find a prisoner who is willing to give info on him in exchange for money on his commissary.
