It's my understanding that it was actually more about how he started behaving when being a woman. Something that's been noticed many times across the Farms is how troons' facsimile of what women are is a caricature, and I remember him acting very teenager-y, sort of ditzy and shallow and a lot of talk about crushes.

So it wasn't even about his clothing, or name, though both had room for improvement. It was about his performance of femininity, so not 'you look wrong for a woman' but 'you're being wrong for a woman', which I imagine is much more tough love - and the most of these precious troons, more offensive to their True and Honest Womanhood.

If it were to happen today, three women sitting down a transwoman to talk about being female, a troon would automatically assume they were giving advice to those poor unfortunate cisscum about how they're not being proper feminists.
