Yup. American surgeons, instead of removing the nipple with the "stem" under it and transplanting that, just cut out the skin of the NAC and staple it on somewhere else and hope they take. One or more nipples falling off is very common.

What does 'treating it like a gland' entail exactly?
A gland is a group of cells in an animal's body that synthesizes substances (such as hormones) for release into the bloodstream (endocrine gland) or into cavities inside the body or its outer surface (exocrine gland).
The prostate is internal as well so I'm not getting how you can treat a part of the penis like a gland.
The word is glans. Either clitorial Glans or the glans of a penis. For a group obsessed with anatomy for validation they sure as hell don't know anything about it.
