Victor Mignogna v. Funimation Productions, LLC, et al. (2019) - Vic's lawsuit against Funimation, VAs, and others, for over a million dollars.

Ty's really good at painting other people as being shit heads while coming across as the kindly soul just trying to protect his clients interests. I guess it doesn't help that the other side has a pretty shit lawyer.

It emains to be seen how shit erick is. This was a clever bit of legal maneuvering. He just failed to drop it when his clever plan went to shit. Although one worrying sign is the lack of any citation or applying things he does cite to the matter at hand. So far the basis of the arguments in his filings is "just because!" You might think Ron wrote but for the lack of smiley emotes.

Erick might be a great and crafty lawyer, but from a personal standpoint, if he was my lawyer and not citing case law to back his claims up I would seriously consider a new attorney. I don't want to risk being represented by someone that isn't going to justify his argument with facts.

He's no LanDUI levels of sped, but I wouldn't want my defense to hinge on that behavior.

Can someone explain what exhibit f is about ? And the exhibit G with dates after Vic's deposition is pissing me off. I hope Ty doesn't give a flying fuck about the dates now and just goes ahead with taking them to court to explain why Vic should be deposed first etc.

Exhibit F was just notice of a filing error as explained in note 1 on page 2. Exhibit G seems to be Casey finally complying with some dates for deposition after seeing how pissed Ty is. Too late and Ty is going to push for the confidentiality agreement and protection order so they can't go defaming on twitter with Vic's deposition.

goddammit @Null is killing the site. I can't access weeb wars or articles

Also, let there be no orders or anything. let them dig themselves further. why?

the bigger the judgement the more unhireable they are. depending on how bad, not even sewage companies will touch them with a 10 ft. pole (to be fair, it takes a metric fuckton to get to this point). Doubt it'll be that bad but they'll never go about unskilled labour and shitty camsites again.

Now Ty can say "fine, we'll take Rial and Toye July 5. BTW, Vic is available July 6-30, pick a day from them."

I can feel the fire that Ty is spitting out, holy shit,

Ty's getting fed up with this. I think he knows Casey doesn't have a case and the kicking and screaming routine is just trying to wear down Vic emotionally and financially

Reading through this just shows a complete difference between attorneys (as if this wasn't obvious already). Even for a short, 4 page request, Ty is citing procedure and law, a stark contrast to that pile of shit which Casey filed in response.

In spite off all their shit talking about how ready they are to take this to court, it's pretty clear that their lawyer knows they are in trouble (and I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that he is not Landau-esq) and is doing everything to contest deposition, because he knows how fucked they are if it gets out.

contumacious
[ kon-too-mey-shuhs, -tyoo- ]

adjective
stubbornly perverse or rebellious; willfully and obstinately disobedient.

This is a good adjective. I think it applies to a bunch of people we follow on the farms. I have never seen it written, or spoken to me in my life.
Step aside Mensa brain coming through.

Adding that to the list of words that I've learned from anime lawsuit: Tortious, turpitude, and contumacious.

Considering the filing error per exhibit F can we assume that Ty must have provided Nick with a copy directly during his stream yesterday. Could that have any negative implications?

The filing error would've come after the initial filing, Nick could've received the previously unrevised copy and would most likely make corrections on his next stream. Looking at exhibit G, it seems that Cucksy is finally playing ball by giving dates, but still only after the 30th.

tl;dr pure conjecture

I think its completely possible that funimation is funding Casey, or at a minimum telling the Soye's to delay as long as possible for the "company that helped them stand up against the predator" etc. If Funimation is funding Casey it makes sense they would tell him to stall until they get their house in order to respond to this suit. It would make even more sense they would tell casey to use up as much of vic's warchest as possible as the more money he has, the greater his ability to nail their ass to the wall going after them.

Its also possible that upper management sees the writing on the wall like Nick did in his initial video where he said "Sony might see this shit, fire everyone, and settle!" If that is the case, and they aren't as stupid as we think they are, 90 days is a good amount of time to suck as much value out of Funimation as they possibly can for themselves. At the very least 3 months notice to getting shit canned is nice.

Also the "my clients are full retard and its easier to make as much money out of litigation as possible" technique by Casey is not without its merits. If you where a lawyer, straight up told your clients "Not allowing deposition to be private is a death knell for your case, you need to stop sperging on the internet, we're in trouble for reals!" and they responded like we all know they have, what would you do? You know when these guys get disposed they're potentially going to realize how fucked they are.

Drive that bill up, replying in a non obnoxious manner is rookie numbers.

The whole issue I see with dreaming up this little conspiracy is that these people don't strike me as that smart. If they were that smart, they never would have found themselves in this position. These kinds of people are so full of their own shit and have had their own way ruling their little fiefdoms for so long that they're secure in their own hubris. When it all goes downhill they shit themselves and do nothing.

What kind of fraud and conspiracy charges would they be looking at if they went down this road? I mean they are stupid, so maybe the implication that they'd be committing a litany of crimes is actually a point in the pro conspiracy column. It's easy to assign some grand conspiracy that involves everyone when you look at the whole insoc jus influence throughout the MSM, politics, and pop culture, and I personally believe there is to an extent, but that kind of thing happens at a level far above the losers at Funimation et all. Their conspiracy against Vic has been leaking like a fucking sieve. I have little doubt that if there was another conspiracy among these retards to fuck over the court and Funimation that it would be discovered in short order via leaks or their own idiotic actions.

Casey padding hours seems completely plausible to me and has been speculated by others with far more judicial knowledge and experience than myself.
