Can someone explain something for me, maybe I've missed it.

Why exactly would Funimation not want to settle / deal with this before it got this far. Nick has said that the beard had to have got in touch with them and tried to negotiate something. Why in gods name would Funimation not offer a full retraction of tweets, public statement about his innocence, firing of everyone even tangentially involved, distancing from the VA's, reinstatement of previous contracts and adding in a whole stack of new ones (with something better than the usual At Will employment contract) and a huge pile of money. Why would they want to keep going down this route?

Settle too soon, and get an angry mob turning on them and suddenly all the higher ups at Funi get accused of sexual assault too. Make it look like you put up some fight before settling and it's probably less costly in the long haul than dealing with professional shitflingers.

So this is their retarded plan after all.

It's a gamble, they might as well try anti SLAPP motions first because if they win, it doesn't cost them anything and if they lose then what is the extra ~10k to a multi million dollar company.

It may also be a the case of just waiting to see how fucked they are when the actual evidence starts being presented to them.

Josh and Shane make my head hurt when reading their tweets. Funny to see Ron and Monica like the we don't fear the beard post. Sure they don't as they are trying to run away. They like the post in the background but are afraid to publicly post they are not scared.

Funimation's general counsel was probably sitting down to decide on legal strategy, and figured that they might be able to get Monica and Jaime out of it (being that they're voice actors employed by the company) at least in part, but Ron would be on his own since Funimation has nothing to do with him. But now MoRon's lawyer has done this, so there's a good chance they're waiting to see how this plays out. If the judge sides with MoRon and doesn't issue a protective order, then they let MoRon's lawyer do all the heavy lifting while sitting back. Then they have access to the hearings, they likely would also file a motion for discovery protections when MoRon's lawyer does (and they'd likely argue that since one defendant has a motion covering anti-SLAPP pending, then the entire process should be halted until the judge makes his determination). As far as I've been able to determine from reading, the defendants only get one joint anti-SLAPP filing, so it's not like after this one is run out Funimation can file their own, then Jaime can file her own and drag it out nine months that way. If the judge sides with Primarch Percival Ty Beardicus on this, we may see Funimation start to talk to Ty and Vic about settling, as the damage simply from the bad press would likely be more than a million bucks.

Short answer is, they're not doing much of anything, they're playing the 'wait and see' game, letting MoRon take the reins to get the preliminary stuff out of the way. If they get too out of control I'm sure Funimation's lawyers will step in to tell them to knock their shit off, as it would hurt Funimation as well.

Poe's Law, can't tell if it's a shitposter or not, this is fucking insane. I'm assuming they're trolling though, like 60% sure.

edit: Wait, wait, doesn't that mean she's raping Vic? Since her mind is the thing that caused the dream sex to happen and Vic didn't consent to having sex with her in the dream. Her mind forced a dream version of him to have sex with her and her mind is her, therefore she's forcing Vic to have sex with her.

I absolutely cannot believe this is real.
There has to be a limit to their fragility.

Edit: it's a little early, but I think I need a drink or five.

So, she's basically claiming that Vic is capable of psychically assaulting women? Is this literal gay psyops?
