Game of Thrones Thread

That adds a great element of chance to things, which also fits with Bronn simply being a commoner riding waves and taking advantage of opportunities as they come. God, maybe I should reread the first three books sometime, sounds like I've forgotten a lot of details.

It's my second favourite Bronn moment in the books, my first being naming Lolys' rape bastard Tyrion to annoy Cersei then when she sends Ser Balman to kill him because of this, instead of aiming for him with a lance as the knight expects, Bronn skewers the man's horse then drives a knife into his eye as he's trapped under it.

There's also a couple of more suspicious things about Bronn, but they're mostly conjecture.

That's what I like about his characterization. He's a sellsword who works his way up from complete rando to minor lord, and he never minces words about it.
That's why they should have let his character be after he denied Tyrion's plea to fight the mountain on his behalf. His part in the drama bookended so nicely there.

But the Golden Company serves the Blackfyres.

From vids on the tube, golden company broke their contract once before joining Aegon Targaryen. It may still happen.

I predict that Dany's forces will be completely annihilated and just when all is lost, Arya will jump from nowhere and kills Cersei. Then everybody will be like, eh, ok, let's serve Dany instead.

This season has made me feel like I am reliving the ending to Dexter.

So yes, it is definitely going down as one of the worst endings to a TV show ever.

Or its like the ending to How I Met Your Mother. The Night King was the Mother and Cersei is Aunt Robin.

edit: the parallels are INSANE!

I think he's referring to Danaerys going funny in the head after hearing bells ring. I seriously doubt they'll do that or at least that bells ringing literally trigger her.

Was the ending to Dexter that bad? I checked out halfway through season 5, when it was obvious they had no idea where to go after the Trinity Killer storyline.

OH. Dude. The ending to Dexter is a trainwreck of historic proportions.

The show had faltered in its later seasons big time, no question ... But I wasn't prepared for just how bad the final season would be.

Just to give you a taste, here's the final scene of the entire show:

Well that was artsy and nonsensical. Does it mean anything in context?

Spill it, por favor.

At this point, I'm past the initial "horror" and "anger" phases. I'm at the "let me enjoy this dumpster fire" phase.
If he's read the same spoilers I have, here are some highlights:
-The ultimate trigger that makes Dany go all Mad Queen are the bells that King's Landing rings to surrender to her.
-Grey Worm starts a riot after they've already won b/c he's now triggered by Lannister soldiers
-The Cleganebowl is a draw
-Tyrion frees Jaime after failing to convince Dany to show mercy, and Jaime dies trying once again to save Cersei. They might die together
-Dany starts lopping off heads and tries to execute Tyrion for freeing his brother, it's Tyrion's appeal to Jon that gets him to kill her

You can find more here, I didn't want to cover everything
Sunday night's going to be FUN!! I, like D&D intend to enjoy it with a bottle of bourbon, but I will absolutely be on the internet.

Oh good god! It's so bad. I love it. The meltdowns are going to be so beautiful to watch.

Just imagine the SJW side of this fandom, REEEEEing all over the place about how "the non-white armies end up raping and pillaging Kings Landing." Woke Twitter will be glorious to read through, and I cannot wait for it.

The ending to this series is seriously going to piss off everyone. Absolutely nobody will be happy with this.

I mentioned this in the Lindsay Ellis thread, but it's worth discussing over here. I find it really interesting that, unlike The Last Jedi, Ghostbusters, and take your pick of woke entertainment products, D&D seem to have aggressively destroyed any chance of hiding behind politics. "Oh, only incels and misogynists and racists hate the direction the story took!" No chance of that here; the SJW crowd is possibly going to be even more spitting mad than book fans about this. It really does look more like sheer incompetence or just lack of concern for the story and characters than any kind of agenda. (Unless the agenda was "collect our paychecks and get out of this stupid show about dragons and ice zombies.")
