The one that comes to mind immediately for me is Casposaurus

Near the beginning of the thread, I linked to Casp's announcement that he would be making a retrospective about Final Fantasy, but it was formatted like Jared's divorce statement and was loaded with potshots. So you aren't the only one who thinks that.

I think the only reason Jared even got remotely popular in the first place was purely based on the fact he joined youtube around the rise of AVGN when people just ate that shit up. If he'd started making content a little later I doubt he'd have as much of a cult following as he does now. (or did)

I recall watching Jared's commentary on his Hydlide video, which he did to celebrate some milestone (I think it was a subscriber special?) and he claimed that he wanted to do Hydlide in particular because he felt AVGN's review of the game was incomplete at best. Which is true, I don't think AVGN ever beat the game and he never really explained what you had to do. And I think that was a factor as to why he got popular, because he offered a more complete look at a game the AVGN already reviewed. Plus Jared also looked at the rest of the series well before the AVGN ever did.

Funny thing is, while Jared's Hydlide videos are undoubtedly more informative than AVGN's, AVGN's are more entertaining. Jared's videos are okay but they are on the dry side.

Jirard is a wholesome good boy (as far as i know) but I remember the fallout between him and Greg, it was huge. Personally Greg was preventing me from getting into his content as soon as he left. Jirard has been one of my favorite youtubers

Jirard has always been my favorite of the NormalBoots and Co. Through things he’s said in his videos, he’s always felt like an extremely kind and genuine person. But especially in the past few years it seems like he’s matured a lot, and I admire him for that. I’ve watched his content for many years and I’m proud of how far his content has come, and how far he’s come as a person. Unlike a lot of these gaming channels that have died off over time, Jirard has been smart enough to constantly adapt to the changing times and keep his content relevant, instead of sticking to the same stale formula. I think he’s stuck around the best out of the whole crew, except maybe Jontron depending on how you look at it.

Sorry if this got a bit too off topic, but I think it’s nice to take a break from a shitshow to look at the Youtubers who have done things right. Now back to your regularly scheduled infidelity and pedophilia!

I feel like you have to be exclusively British to truly understand caddicarus. Caught some of Ross' stream here and there. He was hovering around 1000 viewers pretty consistently. He mentioned that seemed very high and was urging new viewers to come back in the future. I'm guessing he normally gets nowhere near around that many viewers. Mentioned wanting to stream more and he just got a new camera for that purpose. He made some dick pic jokes like putting dick pics on his pateron at a ridiculously high tier. Never crossed into addressing anything outright. He streamed for around 5 hours and seemed like he was wrestling with the thought of leaving to get food. Like he knew he might never have these numbers again and wanted to keep streaming. He drew for maybe half the time and then played with his cat and talked to chat about anime shit and whatever else. Ross seems like a good friend and a genuinely nice dude. Personal conspiracy theory, he's dating one of his twitch mods.
