Probably because Phil has yet to get hit with the Karma Bomb, and people might be losing patience waiting for it to happen or are starting to believe that it'll never happen and Phil will succeed in e-begging 100k a year from people for the rest of his life. I can understand people's frustration when Phil not only doesn't get punished for his toxic bullshit, but will actively gloat about how he gets away with it on Twitter, all the while maintaining his disguise of being the innocent guy who gets picked on by jealous haters.
I personally see it differently - Karma has hit him like a meteor and Phil knows it. Sure, he's still raking in cash, all drama seems to simply eventually melt away and he's still standing making stupid amounts of money from morons...but at the end of the day, the single greatest accomplishment that Phil can claim in his entire life? 4th place at EVO when the majority of the best players made a point of not even showing up to complete. And that was when he was in his prime.
Now he's middle aged, looking even older than that, and spends most of his days playing video games he honestly couldn't give less of a shit about beyond claiming he's "so good" at them even though he needs handholding by his own chat and sometimes
the game itself (the fact he got to the point the first boss from
Shadows Die Twice or whatever outright was saying "don't kick my armor"). He finally got married, but there's little if any romance visible in that relationship he seemed pretty eager to solidify if simply to acomplish a general aspect of human living most of his peers had achieved long ago. He lives in a big house in a gated community AND even owns property on the other side of the country, but he never actually makes good use of his real estate holdings and seems so paranoid to the point he never leaves the house unless absolutely necessary.
And he's ultimately a washed up ex-competitive fighting game player whose sole source of income is begging people online for money to pay for shit because he somehow thinks the image of a man perpetually in debt is good for him to entice new people to give him their money, putting in as little effort as necessary to keep himself afloat. He genuinely only sticks with streaming, obviously, because he is just so adverse to finding a
real job he has to put effort into - and this isn't to say game streaming can't be a real job, but the best streamers actually put in time and effort into both their skills as gamers as well as post-production.
He lives a hollow life in a gilded cage of his own making - sure, he makes money and lives beyond his actual means, but he has to prostrate himself virtually every day, playing games he hates, just to sustain a life he clearly isn't that eager about - all he does off camera is drink beer and watch wrestling.
Karma has hit because it hasn't taken away Phil's means of living, it's giving him
exactly what he wants - and he hates it.
Diarrhea, an excruciating sore throat, chest congestion, a fever, barely able to stay conscious, all from a simple cold that he's had 100 times in his life (how are you so sickly, dsp?) and got over in a single day.
Phil's immune system is barely supported, if at all, by his unhealthy eating habits, and he spends most of his time inside a sheltered space with minimal contact with other humans. He doesn't allow his own immune system to function because he doesn't function like a normal human being, hence why he gets so sick.
So much for that air being good for his health.
