I am extremely ignorant as to how the legal system treats people with autism … if convicted would they seriously lock him up in jail or would they put him somewhere else? And also, how is he not on the news yet?
People assault people every day for stranger reasons. I would imagine especially in a shitty redneckville like Ruckersville. Besides, he's made it into some pretty big online blogs, and web news. I would imagine he's just not done enough yet to warrant a television broadcast. As someone mentioned before, it'd have to be a really slow news day.

Well maybe not game cases, but something in that department. Not everything is behind closed glass, and he very well could have assaulted an employee in the area It's also possible he put up the covers for the cases or something on the glass walls.

If this is confirmed, I don't understand why he was in the hardware department.
Perhaps getting something to break the glass wall or cover it? He would probably get a hammer for the wall or a tarp to cover it.

And to be honest Autisim is probably a misdiagnosis when it comes to Chris I am reading some of my mums old books on the subject (she was a special needs teacher for adults) from around the time Chris was given the diagnosis an it was really misunderstood at the time, anything an everything was considered autistic this wasn't just in British books on the subject but American ones an the rush for diagnosis is a factor in the American texts from that era.

Yes and no, imo. He does have autism, but it seems to be co morbid with at least moderate MR and probably a personality disorder. Either way, if his parents had bothered to get him actual help growing up he wouldn't be in the place he is today; he might be a bit messed up, but he wouldn't have nearly as huge an ego issue.

That would actually make a lot of sense. But could chris have been this agressively crazy? To actively and knowingly walk to the hardware department for something to destroy the glass would surely bring employees, and he'd be arrested very soon after. Even HE can't be this stupid.

To Chris anything he can't process mentally or activity avoid is a threat of serious proportions.

He is incapable of understanding normal social interaction, he see's a idealised version of real life on TV and wonders why it doesn't work for him that way. Other than giving him a convenient excuse he is unaware that his Autisim effects how he views the world and how he reacts to it.

While I am not a expert on the subject, and I can't put a name on what Chris is afflicted with he has aspects of Autisim but they are over shadowed by other more serious issues, that have only really become apparent since he became a teen.but looking back at Christory I am guessing that the School new that when they wanted to send him to "special" school.

I am wandering into the realms of off topic here, I am going to put a thread together with my speculations on the subject at some point.
Im inclined to disagree immensely. Bad parenting and neglect explain everything that autism doesn't.

I don't know what Walmarts are like in Virginia, but, where I am (Canada), yeah, the hardware department is close to the electronics department. Like, they have the electronics department, then the photo lab (for stores that still have them), then the paint section, and then automotive and hardware.

If he gets convicted, he will be sentenced according to the same standards as a person without autism. In other words, he would go to prison, or receive community service, or get probation just like anyone else. If he is sentenced to a period of incarceration, he will likely receive the mental health treatment he has been avoiding/denied in the past.

If Chris had serious autism, to the point of being nonverbal, etc. he might be adjudged incapable of standing trial, in which case he would likely be committed to an asylum either until he was fit to stand trial or until he was no longer a danger to others.

If he were to get aggressive, it would probably be towards a worker who would of questioned him as to why he'd be opening bag of tarp or brandishing a hammer in a manner to break something. Either way, if employees were brought in, Chris would have to of been acting suspicions or something along those lines.

Well damn,

I thought I was doing Barb a big favor by hearing about her son's recent adventure. I really should have had one of my staffers read one of these threads. It would have saved us both a ton of time.

Kids these days. They're incorrigible.

Seriously, don't roleplay. It's against the rules after some people made unfunny gimmick accounts.

Sorry I'm late to this discussion. One of the mods had me.....go on vacation for a bit.

At least it gave me some time to work on this:

Giving the award to Chris is like giving Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzkey or Payton Manning an MVP award. There's no real point, he's already a masterclass LOLcow. Perhaps the greatest LOLcow of all time. I do not think in all of history there has been a bigger LOLcow than Chris.
Only a few weeks ago I may have been posting that chris is dried up and stupid. Fuck the best chris might have yet happened. It boggles the mind.
Yes I forgot, chris is the greatest lolcow of all time.

Despite what we think of how Chris acts, all his documented paperwork says that Chris' autism is not that bad. If he was so autistic that he literally could not function (i.e. he was a "Window to Hell") then he would probably warrant special consideration in his case, but everything the court has on file, like the mandatory eval from the last trial, says that he should be able to function normally in society. So he will probably be mainstreamed just like Borb always wanted.

It aint official till the fat lady makes a Facebook post about how HE was the victim. But there are several factors that would make people suspect it's Chris, and who can blame them?

-- Trespassing at a business that we know Chris has acted up at before
-- Orange cap (PaRappa hat) and white sweatshirt (Manchester High, REPRESENT!)
-- Boasting that he has pepper spray on his person (BIG tipoff!)

I'm still holding out for a full confirmation, but for now, I'm 85% certain it's Chris.

If Chris is convicted, he may well show up on the news ... a prison term over Sonic's arms should make the odd crimes news.

On the facts as we know them, the state could have him sentenced to a year in prison at least. Someone has pointed out that in prison the only way out of the general population is solitary confinement.

It is conceivable that Chris (and his attorney), facing the possibility of a prison term, would gamble and argue for a finding of insanity. If a jury made this finding, or if such a bargain were made, Chris would be confined in a mental institution indefinitely until he is found to be able to tell right from wrong.

But I think there is a practical concern involved in prosecuting an obviously mentally disabled person for such a childish crime. A jury won't want to put him in prison. His autism itself means nothing legally; its not like being a juvenile. In many places the state cannot execute a retarded person, but that's it. So it would be different if he had done something truly violent. And juries send mentally disabled violent people to prison all the time. But with Chris, a jury will see this manchild being given no consideration for his obvious disability.

I imagine the prosecutor will have the leverage to force him into psychiatric treatment though, while he remains free and on probation, in exchange for withdrawing the charges.

I know someone who had a restraining order who was a nut job and violated it. She was hauled into court by the cops and ordered to stop. As soon as she was released, she went back yet again. Cops hauled her back to the same judge. Six weeks in jail. If you jerk around with the court, you are going to jail.

Does anyone else think we're coming to some sort of 'End of Days' with Chris? It's like everything is building towards some massive final explosion of Autism that'll put him in prison (or get him shot by a cop) and finally bring the entire thing crashing down. I mean, if Chris goes into long term custody that's pretty much that for content unless some brave soul wants to go and do visitation with him. If he ends up with some sort of state supervision or something that'll change the game somewhat as they'll likely view Chris' online antics as the source of his IRL problems. I mean he must be in custody at the moment and at the very least he'll end up with a heaping pile of restraining orders out of this (which he'll promptly breach). Things are starting to look really dark for OPL.

EDIT: (because I had a thought for once)

ONE MORE THING! I believe Chris is currently trapped in an increasing cycle that goes like this. Chris views the blue arms as a personal attack for whatever irrational reason his mind constructs. He makes a protest on the internet and gets a little bit of negative attention. He rationalises this as 'haters' getting angry about his success. Chris ups his game and performs the Gamestop attack which gets him unjustly (in his mind) arrested. Because Chris can't really understand that a low level Gamestop employee has little to no relevance in the VG industry, Chris rationalises this as 'the industry' attacking him back. This validates his protest, it's pissed off 'the industry' and therefore is having the desired effect. Chris is probably naive as to the ramifications of his actions, he doesn't really believe he'll go to prison because he still retains that childish world view that really bad things only happen to other people.

With all this in mind, Chris resolves to continue his protest because he see's it as a success because it's upsetting the people he at least believes have some sway over the whole blue arms thing. If he is in custody, and assuming he gets out again, next week it;ll be Target or somewhere, until eventually he doesn't come back and is forced to learn a very hard lesson for the first time in his life.

So, if Chris ends up - by some veritable miracle - walking away from all of this with no jail time, will the next 'trolling plan' be to convince him to keep his hands to himself and keep his mouth shut?

Something like The Avoiding Jail Saga: Whiteknight Boogaloo?

Please don't be stupid enough to take any of that seriously.

Chris thinks of himself as the Teflon Tard. He doesn't think he is going anywhere, and therefore, he will launch attacks on Game Stop, Wal-Mart, Target, McDonalds, Burger King, the Fashion Square Mall, anywhere that he feels like, without rhyme or reason. Its enough to want to live in Ruckersville-Charlottesville yourself, just to watch the insanity unfold. It's blue arms on a video game character. It makes no sense even if you consider Chris as a batshit manbaby. I would have never noticed the arms, how he did I have no idea. Autism's one hell of a drug.
