Obscure Laughingstocks - Lolcows without substantial online presence.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I don't know if this is the right place for this sort of thing, but I believe I have stumbled upon a sizeable group of what you might consider obscure laughingstocks. If anyone remembers GoAnimate, that program in which you get to make shitty animations with Family Guy-esque characters, then you'll be shocked to hear that people have stopped trying to be, in any way, creative with the program.

Instead, GoAnimate has gained somewhat of a cult following with autistic children/teenagers (I'm not lying; most GoAnimate users actually have autism (and yes, like all good lolcows, they have their own dedicated wiki)) what you have are videos like these:

[youtube]bvpPc-v8I1k[/youtube]
[youtube]pbpgBO_fyDE[/youtube]

being made all the time with all sorts of variations of the form "[hated character] [action] and Gets Grounded." As we all know:
Obsessions, repetitive behaviour and routines can be a source of enjoyment for people with autism and a way of coping with everyday life.
And, as with most fountains of autism, these people have rather unique ways of responding to any sort of negative attention and other "triggers." One of those triggers is a guy named Warren Cook who the entirety of the GoAnimate community seems to hate for making "fake VHS openings", which makes him a "bad user". If you search for "Warren Cook" on Youtube, you will see a very long list of videos hating on him, such as:
Yes, seriously, that last video is over 100 minutes long. That's how dedicated these people (who call themselves the "good users", by the way) are to making cookie cutter videos about the same person for doing something as menial as making "fake VHS openings", whatever that is.

And it's not just Warren Cook who these people do it to. If you make a GoAnimate video called "[actual user] [action] gets Grounded", then they will respond... by making a GoAnimate video called "[your troll name] gets Grounded" or "Severely angry message to [your troll name]" or even a video of themselves swearing at you. Case in point:
This guy is 16 years old, and he believes that by swearing and saying "you are grounded" at the camera, you can ward off the trolls. He is also considered a "good user" within the community. This is the case for essentially 100% of the GoAnimate community. I suppose they've never heard of the phrase "don't feed the trolls."

It doesn't just stop there, though. Many people also make "rants" about things that they don't like. How do they do that? You guessed it. GoAnimate. And the things they don't like are baby shows such as Dora the Explorer and Caillou (who seem to be the main characters featured in all GoAnimate videos). However, these rants are mediocre at best and awful at worst, and they are dreadfully boring compared to the rest of the things GoAnimate users do. They're what you'd expect from rants. Except they *still* manage to follow some sort of pattern, just like all things.

Oh yeah, and the worst part? These people have to pay $18 per 3 months minimum to use GoAnimate, and there are even $39/month, $79/month and $250/month plans which people actually buy. They pay to make the same videos all over again. Actual, real money.

So yeah. The GoAnimate community. It reeks of autism and repetitiveness. But mostly autism.

Don't know if anybody's posted about this guy yet, but I found a mine of videos from this guy who believes that he can "hypnotize" you into changing into animals and such. He also has a website where you can find all of his hypnosis stuff here. His artwork is pretty bad too, in fact it kinda reminds me of Deeker's art style (minus the diaper and scat fetishes amongst other things).

And here's one of his hypnosis videos in question:

Every once in a while I'll go on politics forum and lurk. A while back, maybe 2011, I discovered the user cherry who is something of a joke among the members of the board, as he tries to connect Japan to every conceivable tragic event in human history and posits that numerous individuals that did terrible things are members of the Japanese Imperial Clan. Yes, even Hitler was secretly Japanese, so was Saddam Hussein, Osama Bin-Laden, etc.

Here's an example of his posting style.

Japan has been secretly obsessed with Christmas since ancient times.

Japan's historic decisive battle, the Battle of Sekigahara, has turned out to be a mere parody on the Battle of Hastings in England.

The revelation is yet the tip of the iceberg.

A thread where he hypothesizes that John Lennon is descended from Alfred Nobel.
http://www.politicsforum.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=145106

His webpage: http://park.geocities.jp/jpcdebate/0103/p037.html#page261

He very, very rarely responds to anybody. When he does it's usually very short and explains nothing. Perhaps most bizarre - he's actually Japanese himself.

The mention of John Lennon reminded me of an Obscure Lolcow/Laughingstock I remember on the Internet from years ago.

I, for the life of me, can't remember the dude's name, but his big thing was that John Lennon was killed by Stephen King, the author, and he apparently stalked King for years in an attempt to get definitive proof of this or to get King to confess.

He used to have a website up where he showed his "proof" that King killed Lennon, but I think it's long gone now.

So there are a subsection of Catholic who claim that St. John XXIII was never really people and therefore all popes since Pius XII were never really popes
see:

and
a smalller number elect Popes

Pope Micheal was elected (and I not making this up) by 6 people (inculded himself mom and dad) in the backroom of a thrift store

There are also the Episcopi vagantes (wandering bishops) -- bishops who can trace their consecrations to "legitimate" sources (Roman Catholic, Orthodox, or Anglican prelates), but who then set up their own designer-Catholic churches with themselves as Pope or Patriarch.
See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Episcopi_vagantes
The singer Sinead O'Connor was mixed up with one of these characters a few years ago.

That is just the tip of the iceberg with Oren Otter! He also has multiple personalities, including his own wife (who is an anteater) and their children. At least two of the comics are set in the magical world inside his head.

He is a furry and also a fundamentalist Christian who feels personally offended by the existence of homosexuality, which as you might imagine has led to some drama within the furry community.

His life is a combo platter of lolcow sadness: he has diabetes, he's on SSI or SSDI and never has any money, he had terrible bedbugs recently, he only has online friends, he really wants a spouse (I say "spouse" because the person would have to be female but also have male personalities for his female personalities to marry), nobody likes his comics, he's always getting into conflicts on message boards...

This looks like it could be fun. I always love creator's of hilariously bad artwork. A whole community of them sounds like it could be funner than a barrel of autistic monkys.
Also, what's with the "getting grounded" stuff? Is it because they all have the "extreme devotion to rules" part of autism? Are they just all really immature? Both?

Any links to this? Sounds like a very unique individual. If you could get more material, I'd personally say that these two could carry their own thread. We've seen it happen with FungusNails. Just my opinion though.

ok, so on the slowly dying guru gossip page, there is a user there named "organizedlisa" who hangs out in the organizedlikejen section, I brought Jen up a few pages back. Anyway, this lady goes ape SHIT if someone disagrees with her, she's constantly reading things wrong on the forum, and thinking they're all personal attacks on her. She also does these really stalkerish long ass recaps on all of Jen's old youtube videos, with TONS of screencaps. She gets butthurt if someone uses one of her screengrabs without her premission:

(someone made an imgur album of the best of jen, with some of HER screencaps used as memes)
Ugh, the last time I mentioned something similar I received a lot of FLACK/FLAK,
but I think it's worth mentioning -

LittleLoftice, thumbs up on the arduous task you took, in saving and compiling all these images,
but it pains me to see that none of the content creators were given credit -
especially for the memes and animated gifs, which can take more time.
A lot of the images are also compilations or altered, making them unique from regular screen captures.

Since you painstakingly pored through every thread, I only wish you had made note of the original posters to include on the imgur albums. That, would have truly been praiseworthy!

But now, the only person linked to these images is you, and you're the one getting praised for compiling works of uncredited others.

I know some people will think this sounds pissy, but I guess I'm just a stickler for giving credit where it is due.
post 2 after everybody pretty much told her to get a life:

FYI I didn't create any memes. I don't even think any of my pictures are on the album, although I only looked through 2 or 3, they all appeared to be very old pics.

I never said the pics were not funny, or that I did not like them, I simply want to know who created them.
Why is that so hard to comprehend?

Please stop acting like this is elementary school with all the digs and sarcasm directed towards me.
I'm being referred to as "you," as "some people" and mocked for things I never said (making demands),
and then there are all the WTF and FFS, remarks.
I have every right to express my opinion, and I should not face a scornful wrath if my opinion differs from others.
Or SHOULD I? Do I deserve to be treated this way?

EVERYONE else thinks the pics don't need a credit...I GET it.
I RESPECT that your opinion differs from mine, why can't you do the same?

Good grief! Now back to Jen, please!

You have probably heard of Jack T. Chick at least once. You may have also heard about "Dr." Alberto Rivera, the man responsible for feeding the old cartoonist all those anti-Catholic conspiracy theories. Still, there is one figure in Chick Publications that seems to fall under the radar for most people. Fortunately for us, he runs the Chick Publications Youtube channel.

David W. Daniels
dwdaniels.jpg
Youtube Channel

He spends a good number of his videos shilling the Chick Tracts, but the more interesting videos are those on the King James Version of the Bible. To those who aren't well-versed on the Bible versions, the King James Version of the Bible is the most popular English translation, one of the most enduring versions of the Bible, and one of the best-selling books, period. After being completed in 1611, it was the Bible used by just about every Protestant until the 19th century, when translations in Modern English began to increase in popularity. In response to these versions, a group of Fundamentalist Christians came into being that declared as a matter of faith that the KJV was the direct, inspired Word, and that no other translation can compare.

David W. Daniels is a member of this group. He truly believes, without much theological or historical justification, that the KJV was intended by God to be the eternal word of God in English. He has several pet-peeves that he tends to complain about, and I have listed the most notable below:

  • Versions of the Bible other than the KJV, especially the NIV
  • "Doubting footnotes" in study KJV-Bibles (they provide alternate translations based on different Greek and Hebrew manuscripts, thus they defy God's Word)
  • Bible publishers, whom he believes are "afraid" of one of the best-selling books of all time; he actually believes that there is a conspiracy going on
  • Scholars, for shedding doubt on his idea that the KJV is a perfect translation

Even the slightest difference between one version and the KJV will cause him to give a speech on how there's a conscious effort given by the translator's to mislead the people. It's quite amusing to watch him try to hold back his agitation and anger towards the footnotes and other translations.

Here's just one of his videos:

As an afterthought: I do wonder what on Earth is wrong with his right eye.

Probably no one will ever see this in here but ehh.

I've been struggling to remember the name of an Obscure LOLCow that I remember seeing, if any of you could possibly help

All I remember was that he was this older (probably mid 50's) dude who was married and had grown kids....but he would constantly talk about how he was meant to be with Selena Gomez. How Selena had come to him in dreams and told him when she turned 18, she would come to him and they'd get married.

He had a Youtube channel, and most of his videos were basically him talking about how much he loved Selena, and the various dreams he had where Selena was all "Yep, I'm totally going to be with you as soon as I turn 18....". From what I remember, his family and youtube commenters on his videos basically tried very nicely (as nice as one can anyway) to tell him that he might not have all of his crayons in a box and should seek counseling, but his response was always "You're just trying to deny the true love me and Selena have!"

Unsure if this would count as a 'laughingstock' so much as a 'look how horrible this person is' but really she needs to be shared cause damn.

I present to you, Groovie.

Also known as Earthgirl (mostly on dragcave.net, where she is a spriter), Groovie joined Flight Rising as well, last known username AsylumInmate. She had a tumblr, but deleted it as far as anyone knows. Here's a screencap of her (suspended) FR account:

14l83k9.png
You can see where this is gonna be going.

According to a few forum-goers, Groovie had been insulting non-white people on the forums in backhanded "complements" (I can't find screencaps of any of these, sadly.), which lead to some people being not very happy about that. Then Groovie herself found out about the people who were unhappy with her...

It started with the following post on her tumblr;

(text version if it's too small)

Oh God. The SJW Corp. on dramarising strikes again.

I’m going to sound very racist here and I’m not sorry. AT ALL.

First off, I take great offense when I hear that gypsies are called ‘Romani’. No. They are NOT ‘Romani’ or ‘Rroma’ or whatever their stinky asses want to be called. Because of their newly-claimed name as the ‘Romani people’, Romanians are often mistaken for gypsies and suffer greatly from that.

Thankfully, eversince they went loose all over Europe (and even America, I hope) and caused problems, people started to wake up and notice the difference and realize that the oh-so-discriminated gypos are really a plague.

Romanians = white people, mostly civilized. Looking for work, studies, sightseeing. Educated for the most part. They have a culture and a country.

Gypsies(or ‘romani’ if you want) = not white(Indian), roam in large groups, impossible to civilize, stinky(allergic to soap), they mostly steal and destroy everything. Uneducated. They don’t really have a…culture.(tho, they probably did 100 years ago) They can’t fucking adapt anywhere!

'Gypsy' is not a racial slur. Gypsy is what gypsies have been called since the dawn of history. They came from India, just saying, incase some ignorants who see this don't already know it.

As for me being racist?

White people = I am one of them. Not judging.

Black people = totally okay with them. Exotic. They proved to be capable of adapting and being civilized.

Asians = kawaii little yellow people. *pats them*

Gypsies = KILL THEM WITH FIRE!

As you can probably imagine, this did not go over well.

After a while, another tumblr user makes a post about a dragon they own that they, as someone descended from Roma people, were using to represent their pride in their own heritage. Groovie proceeded to buy one of this dragon's offspring and create a very stereotypical Roma thief/fortune teller type character with it. That's not that bad, but then there's what she decided to do with the other babies of that same user's dragons....

Oh yeah.

She finally got permabanned from Flight Rising for actually being stupid enough to take her shit on-site, with this lovely little edit of one of the site's dragons

jgjzvm.png

She also managed to single-handedly kill a skype chat for her old flight (shadow), as chronicled by my wife, who happened to be in the chat at the time:

[4:42:31 PM] [wife]: Well it was pretty short. We were all just talking about normal shit when she came out of nowhere and started rambling about how she "cured her depression" and "medication is poisoning yourself". Everyone told her to shut the fuck up but she just kept going for like 15 minutes
[4:42:43 PM] [me]: ew
[4:43:26 PM] [wife]: then she threw a hissy and flounced and nobody felt like talking after that. they had to make a new skype chat to keep her out until she switched to plague

And now, on dragcave:
She started pretty tame, which just a total inability to take crit when people didn't like her holiday sprite, putting her fingers in her ears and screaming "LA LA CAN'T HEAR YOU" in her own words... (link to thread)

groovie said:
To be honest with everyone, I don't really want to deal with critiques on my first Holiday release. v.v
I'm just going to plug my ears and go 'lalala' for the time being. okay? Problem solved. Thank you very much for killing my enjoyment for my first ever Holiday release. v.v

It also came to light that TJ09 (owner of dragcave) was aware of all the neo-nazi shit one of his spriters (aka she is on staff there) was up to, and pretty much defended her and refused to take action. And ofc the circlejerk that is the dc forums ate that up and told him he's "so brave", but that's another story. Thread.

There's a bit more mentioned about Groovie/earthgirl on the dragcave ED page

ETA: Wifey linked me to her webcomic, so there's that too! http://www.hermajestynomore.com/index.html

Groovie's pretty terrible, but the Tumblr side of Flight Rising's community could apply as lolcows for the exact opposite reasons. Screaming CULTURAL APPROPRIATION at the staff for using nagas (but it's okay to use things from Japanese mythology!), and crying on their blogs about how the mean ol' admins are oppressing them by *gasp* encouraging them to actually play the game instead of just handing everything to them. "Oh noes I played the coliseum for two weeks straight and now my wrist hurts! DAMN YOU FR STAFF ;n;"

This is what happens when you advertise your pet site on Tumblr: You get one of the whiniest, most entitled, most hostile fanbases for a website that I've ever seen. There's way too many examples to concisely list, but I have never seen another petsite fanbase that treats the staff like absolute garbage over things that are relatively minor. The admins aren't perfect, but every time they make even a tiny mistake the fanbase screams and cries like they personally came to their house and murdered their dog. It's hilarious to watch the spergfests that constantly erupt in the Flight Rising tag on Tumblr.

Okay, I'll give one example. It happened quite a while ago so all links are lost, but the site's lead programmer got into a car accident and almost died. The Tumblr tag's reaction? "Oh great, now the site issues will never get fixed!" Nice priorities there, guys.
