They likely have isolated themselves so much in an echo chamber that they've begun to think that all the garbage they've said is true. They also often seem to forget they have to defeat not -only- the defamation (by proving all 100+ women exist and also that these women have alleged that Vic harassed/assaulted them) but also the TI which there is hard evidence they committed.
I honestly don't see any way they can get out of the suit, and maybe they don't either so instead of trying to fight the case, or going down quietly to save face, they decided they're going to chimp out as hard as possible to try to bring Vic, and anyone else down with them.

Unfortunately wage garnishment isn't something that happens in Texas unless it's for child support or other things similar. What they can do, however, is completely seize all of the funds in your bank, as well as probe into any other accounts you may have been transferring money to (or if you made a large cash withdrawl they could likely find out where that money went).
