She never said she had a lawyer. She asked the question, “what makes you think my lawyer hasn’t already seen these?” In light of her current attitude, it was just a one-off joke that everyone took to mean she had a lawyer.

My theory is a variant of the first one: she has a lawyer who swore to her that the lawsuit would be dismissed before she had to do anything. So she's flippant because she's "sure" nothing will ever come of it.

Civil conspiracy theory: maybe Marchi's lawyer talked to MoRonica's lawyer Casey, who had that big-brained scheme to depose Vic first, leak embarassing answers out of context, and get the whole thing dropped. Based on that 54-D level chess maneuver, he told Marchi everything will be handled and is waiting to collect the easy money for doing no work.

Or maybe since she's not the actual mother of either of those kids as her uterus dried up long ago, they probably only live with their dad some of the time. She gets to play mommy with her fiance's kids since nobody wants to breed a ginger whale.
