Community Munchausen's by Internet (Malingerers, Munchies, Spoonies, etc) - Feigning Illnesses for Attention

If they actually have chronic pain or chronic fatigue then grip up your fucking ovaries and start exercising

Damn right. For mild hypermomobility, the absolute best thing you can do is to strengthen the core musculature and muscles generally. That’s often enough to stabilise and reduce any discomfort or pain. Pilates is brilliant for this. De conditioning yourself sitting in a wheelchair results in muscle loss - fast, as anyone who has been active and picked up a nasty injury that immobilised you for a bit knows. When you’re young, you can bounce back pretty fast, but when these women hit their late thirties onwards they’re in for a shock.

The moderator is u/chronicallyhonest. I don't know anything else about her.

Oh right, that's where I found out that anonymously submitting mean things about yourself on the internet is "digitally self harming." And they trigger warning'd and censored a transcription of Jan's speech.

If you're that fragile, get off the internet.

I think it could burn a little brighter. I mean now that they got rid of kittenbread, it's not like their mods are munchies or something.

So, party_wurmple, just out of curiosity, how many times have you had sepsis so far?

Jeepers Christmas, that seems like a lot! Twelve? Four times in just the last six months? Or 12 total but only eight were bordering on septic shock but only two of those times were close to getting bad? I'm so confused. Then again, I wouldn't really know much about it because, you know, I've never had it. Kind of avoid installing new gateways for infection into my body. You must be really sick, definitely sicker than any of your "subjects" with their EDS/GP/MCAS/POTS combo. What is it that you have again?

Oh gosh oh geez this is so awkward. Well I mean, I guess I don't have much more to add. Any sage advice for us?

So did they pull your port after your twelfth bout of sepsis? Jw.

Sorry this is so short, can't really devote my whole attention to figuring out who you are yet, conference season and whatnot. But like I always say, internet is forever and I already saved all your post history for future scrutiny. Where was that school shooting you were involved in? Arizona, right? Don't worry, there can't be too many ASL interpreters with severe disabling conditions held hostage in a tard classroom by an armed madman. Oh and by the way.

lol get fucked.

Aubrey's 3 or 4 "sepsis attacks" looks downright quaint compared to this.

Waiting patiently for you to go scorched Earth on this mod. This fire definitely isn't as good as when they went ape shit over MUH RACISMMMM with a mod and created a new, even more PC snowflake sub.

Well PW is responding to commenters in the thread where she slightly annoyed me enough to look into her post history so possible chimp out to tide people over, I guess.

There's a case report floating around out there where a woman with hEDS exercised under the guidance of a PT and had a complete cessation of pain. Like 6-9/10 chronic pain scores to 0.

You'd think that would be passed around hEDS groups like crazy but nope, they love their Sick Little Princess Syndrome and they're not going to do anything that could actually ameliorate it.

Support groups hate when you mention that exercise will help chronic pain, same when a Doc suggests it. I know two people for example who got their RA completely under control with no need for meds with exercise and good eating habits. Both had trouble even walking while they experienced flares because it affected knees mostly in one person and feet in the other. (We're talking full on swelling where the skin starts to crack) I mean if you're already experiencing 'the worst pain ever 11/10' why not just give it a try?

I think what's hard for people isn't the hard work (faking is hard work too, I'd imagine) but the fact that it's uncertain. Not everyone is going to get that kind of results even if they give it their all, and that can be really hard to cope with, psychologically. Obviously there needs to be better psychological support out there but that's not there for anyone in this current system.

In some places the only psychological support you get for chronic illness is that you get recommended to join support groups. It's a shame because from what I've seen they are filled with complainers rather than actual support and I believe there is a psychological impact to finding out that you have an illness and there's no way to cure it especially if there are life changing aspects like chronic pain or losing independence.

Except it’s not from kiwi farms it’s just from you. Your trolling is fucking annoying

Apparently they've already been doxxed.

(Sorry for the bad quality, laptop is acting up)

Ha remember seeing that that’s when they went on a deleting spree over the space of a couple of days. The girl in the post was called Sydney and kept coming on IF because of some shit with analeise

MBI is actually a doctor as far as I can tell. I know these things are not mutually exclusive but I’m not going after her because unlike munchies I respect doctors.

nah pw was quoting another user who had her uncensored social media handle broadcast on IF and her real name published by Tina.

@Kate Farms Shill can I have your munchie exposing babies?

We've discussed girls with eating disorders being munchies on here before, but I thought it was solely because of their need for attention. But I saw an interesting post on r/TrueChronicIllness by someone who says she could've been a munchie, and:

I was anorexic from ages 15 - 20. As a result, I developed medical issues. To this day (even though I’m beyond weight restored... tbh fuck EDs for forever ruining your metabolism) I still faint if I’m not properly hydrated, experience nausea, or any kind of extreme pain. Now that I’m 25, when I pass out I’m like okay that was spooky...let’s move on (I do NOT have POTS).
Is there anyone who can speak to permanent physical problems caused by anorexia/other eating disorders and how it maps to the described physical symptoms of munchies?

You know what I noticed about this annoying flap of scrotal skin that fancies itself le hilarious troll?

It only comes out when mods at IF need a diversion.

Well I was wondering because there’s a user that frequents IF called ismellbutt. The posts are quite normal on there but they mostly only comment on Jaquie/jan stuff. Could be a coincidence but people tend to use similar names across sites. But I guess they only troll on here cause they hate the farms?

I'm pretty torn because internet munchies are clearly mentally ill and the healthcare system has sort of failed them. I'm not sure what you can do when the patient wants to remain sick, however.

Was it a case report or the woman who was on Ninja Warrior? Because that woman is known for using every kind of marijuana known to man.

I remember seeing that before I got into following all the EDS munchies online. I remember thinking WTF when she claimed that chiropractor cured her. Now that I see that perfectly healthy people claiming EDS are a dime a dozen on Instagram, it makes so much sense.

I realized that after I posted it so I took down the post, oops.
