Wait, what happened to Captain Manning?
The studios couldn't give a single shit what contractors do at a convention. It was a slow feature creep. Basically people started charging fees to appear at the conventions either to dissuade too many cons from inviting them, or simply as a test to see if they could get some money and then they learned from comic cons that they could charge individual fans, so they made a deal with cons that they'll charge the fans directly instead of a flat fee to the con and the greedy con runners said "hey, less money from my pocket", and bam, new revenue stream for F-list "celebrities".A lot of people are turning around and selling these on ebay or some shit, or would be if they were free. Also the studios probably want them charging for these because it means they can pay them less and expect them to make their own money at the cons.
Considering how insular and incestuous this animu-licensing industry is, I'm surprised we haven't had an incident like this years ago. These ""entertainment"" people always seem to have the same politics/ideologies don't they?
To add some context to the Captain Manning post, the person who said he hadn't had a problem with Vic was Jim Vowles, a longtime staffer with Otakon who dealt with a lot of guests and industry. The person asking the question was Jessica Hodges, an exceptional individual who tried to start a convention (and failed):I mean we had a (former) con staffer here. @Captain Manning gave us some good info, but also pics of con-staff group messages. I'll look for his posts.
EDIT: Ah, found it

So here are (allegedly) cons that have banned Vic.
Went to tekko again in '10 and '18
Never went to an Acen in 05 or ever apparently
On and off at ohoyocan seems to mean he was never banned
Can't find an Anime Detour anywhere there
So that leaves Anime expo 14, Otokon 17 and Anime boston 05. Considering he hardly goes to the same cons every year it will be hard to say 14 and 17 are even suspicious.
Hey maybe he was banned from Boston 05, or maybe he decided not to go back because they fucked something up that one time, or maybe it's something unrelated that has nothin to do with anything.
Evidence seems to be that Vic hasn't been back since ergo must be banned.
Thursday can't come fast enough.
Yes.Is this an unlucky lawyer who is only working with what he has, trying to get out of lawyering for lunatics, or a fucking clown? It's getting harder to tell.
Yeah, I remember seeing this back when it was first posted. Props to @Captain Manning for being able to provide the goods.I mean we had a (former) con staffer here. @Captain Manning gave us some good info, but also pics of con-staff group messages. I'll look for his posts.

You'll have to be more specific Nick! Which Lie are you talking about? We have quite a few. Casey also fails at 4th grade math, although I am not sure that counts as a lie? "Stupidity does not always equal Perjury while perjury always equals stupidity' is how I remember it.
If that's true that has to mean Funi has finished settling with The Beard right?Has anyone else seen this going around?
Its being parroted by SGSami. He can be a bit exceptional...weakest link of the ISWV Youtube bunch IMO.Has anyone else seen this going around?
