Erick's side is also posturing hard WRT the confidentiality requests, only they're doing it backwards: "We have nothing to hide!" blah blah blah. We know that in the end, this is going to be very ugly, but for the sake of posturing, their entire case is built around a bunch of baseless public libel, so this is consistent, and they're not going to change their position without being forced.

When the Amazon’s step into deposition and start dragging the most intimate details of their sexual history, particularly their workplace and industry sexual histories out of Monica and Marchi, which they will. They are the defendants and no Rape Zshield laws apply. Just remember that not only was it Ty that was seeking to keep such things confidential unless needed at trial, but that it was Monica’s and RonRon who campaigned against such reasonable confidentiality. Also remember that Vic goes first. That means Casey will have established the overall tone, which will then come back to savage Rial and RonRon. As others have rightfully pointed out, you can’t do anything more to Vic. You’ve already ruined his career and branded him a pedophile rapist. He’s already hit bottom. But without a confidentiality agreement those depositions are going to destroy the careers of every other person attached to this. Even the ones who are not yet litigants.

Sure. While I can appreciate the brevity, it still feels like a weak defense. It's probably the best she's got, but still weak.
I was really hoping Marchi /her lawyer would pull the "truth is not defamation, and I know it's true because he assaulted me!" defense they all played in public. Not saying that's a better defense at all. Funnier though.
I expected that almost, but no one has. Really makes you think...

That's what these idiots * and the Pulltardettes * fail to understand Vic literally can not lose this because he has nothing left to lose.

But Moron,Marchi,Funimation and whoever else gets dragged into this they have so so much to potentially lose it isn't funny.

It's just their answer. They shouldn't try to argue their case in their answer. It's just a heads-up to the plaintiff and the court about the defences they'll be relying on.

Deposition under oath by a hostile is not like the HR investigation. It really is very very hard to get away with lying. You don’t know what the interrogators know. And you will fuck up.

It wouldn't, though, unless it's a Rule 11 agreement signed by both counsel and filed, or unless the attorneys agreed to it in open court and it's part of the record (which very well may be the case).

No, it's what you're supposed to do. You aren't supposed to just put a bunch of rambling nonsense in the record. It generally denies every single factual allegation the plaintiff made as well as asserting all reasonable affirmative defenses (and some unreasonable ones too).
