I think that this is a thinly-veiled attempt from a major media corporation to incite harassment against a citizen. If they thought the person responsible was a Russian agent and discovered that he wasn't, the story should have stopped there. The fact that they pushed ahead anyways with a clearly defamatory intent behind a "story" that had no reason to be written makes it pretty obvious that they're putting it out there for the sole purpose of trying to intimidate him.

They could have framed the story around how the source of the video had nothing to do with Russia, as Pelosi had claimed. They could have centered it around the video not being sourced by a Republican Super PAC or any other foreign entity trying to interfere with public opinion, but they didn't. They just sat down to make an example out of a normal, everyday American citizen for slowing down a YouTube video. You can't criticize a Democratic Presidential candidate over lying about her heritage, you can't report on a journalist's class at NYU being cancelled because only two people showed up, but if you target a guy for posting a Facebook video then journalists will line up to pat you on the ass.

If I was this man, I'd want that journalist's head on a pike.

Most of the left wing media is too busy dealing with Maza's temper tantrum this weekend (and the pushback towards THAT shit show), probably to care that some criminal hacker found the identity of the Pelosi video. Which might have the effect of making the lunatic left tell Maza to fuck off, since they would probably much rather be writing hit pieces of the guy behind said video, than Crowder.

Same with Twitter; I've noticed they've been going overtime protecting Maza from the consequences of his bullshit (and I myself have been subjected to two 12 hour "time outs" calling him out). A lot of responses calling him out have been deleted and the powers that be probably haven't gotten around to dealing with banning/time-outing people calling bullshit on the guy who outed the video makerm since they are having another louder fire to put out.

That's the most insidious aspect of the Democrat's Russian Red Scaring. They aren't even making being Russian a terrifying prospect; they are outright channeling ALL of the anger and evil acts from the public not at anyone who is Russian or has Russian heritage, but at actual fucking American citizens who's own crime (in the eyes of the lunatic left) is being born poor or in the middle of the country/some place poor and anyone who stands between the lunatic left and their coup (IE Flynn).

It's the Red Scare on steroids....

The left's obsession hating on Russia, comes from a couple of reasons. Most of which is the fact that Putin is part super-villain (an easy target to hate) and the fact that Putin is the only thing standing between the Fourth Reich (Angela Merkel and the EU) from enslaving not only all of Europe but also, all of Russia's vast territory in the East.

But mostly the later. The globalists at the EU and Merkel fucking hate the fact that they can't create their EU super state, disarming all of the countries in the EU's military (and replacing it with an EU army that will gladly enslave all of the nations of Europe in the name of the Fourth Reich), and begin the full-on population replacement program they've already partially carried out so long as Russia exists to serve as a sort of nefarious liberator who would wipe out the EU and their fascist leadership in a heartbeat and then, forever be seen as the heroes of Europe (allowing Putin his ultimate dream of a Europe 100% in debt to Russia as such, under it's influence in terms of rebuilding Europe once the EU is destroyed).

But for the US, the biggest reason is that they prefer the EU Fourth Reich because it would weaken Russia and marginalize them. In the last 19 years, Russia has been slowly becoming a player in terms of cornering sections of the oil market that the US didn't have much access to. And worse, Russia and China both together and separately, have been exploiting the way in which the US blew up the Middle East politically with their wars. They have made friends with several of the dictators (most notably Syria) that the US wants gone, along with increasing their presence in the region in a way that makes the US nervous that they may be planning to take over the entire Middle East the moment we leave for good.

And Putin's own use of false flag terrorism, killing reporters and rivals, fanning the flames of homophobia for political purposes, instituting national program of doping athletes to win Olympic gold, imprisoning SJW feminazis like Pussy Riot, and other acts of super-villainy make him the perfect target for getting dumb SJWs to hate as the new mastermind behind all of the worlds evils. Especially since he's "not a real communist" and just a KGB thug with dreams of creating his own Russian empire, in the eyes of the communists/socialist sect.

They're afraid that the US to going to steal the UK away from the Europe Union and turn it into subservient influencer of American Values like Japan or Israel.

Imagine the UK getting gun rights and an end to hate speech laws because America being their primary trade partner can impose such harsh freedoms and liberties upon people.
