There isn't really a situation where it's a loss for him, he either gets awarded damages and/or some sort of public apology or he doesn't. He doesn't lose anything by not being awarded damages since the status quo will always be maintained between people who think he got screwed and people who think he screwed somebody. I suppose you could consider it a loss if he has to pay for legal fees for the other parties but that'll be more of a loss for neets than for Vic because it'll come out the pot and maybe some drop in the bucket amount from Vic.
I think this lawsuit is more a principle for him and for the people taking his side. We live in a world where people like targeting and ruining the careers of whoever they feel like with impunity because they can. They need to be shown there are consequences for that or it'll only get worse. The anime industry shouldn't be under the control of people behaving like gangsters and trying to take people out because of jealousy or because they refused to smash the wrong person and they decided to make them pay.
We still have psychos out there like Emma Sulkowicz making money on lies after ruining a guys life because she didn't get her own way.

Just that he had hired Ty Beard to represent him. Nothing yet filed as I would assume Nick would talk about it on his show. But I think if the timeline is similar to when Vic's papers were filed, I should be later this month? But could be any number of reasons for it to be slower.

You start out with a liar, Casey, who was actually there, and had motivation to portray it in as favorable a light as possible to his client, Ron, who is a liar and also a complete moron. So it got garbled and distorted twice, before being filtered through Shane, who is possibly the dumbest man in the world, and then shat out onto his Twitter feed.
Honestly, if you're waiting for information at all, you should entirely ignore Shane, because by the time it gets to you it's literally fourth-hand and every single hand along the way is either a liar, dumb as dogshit, or both.
