You're making me nostalgic for "spot the reddit", where you go to literally anywhere the navy seal copypasta was posted and looked for anyone huffing their own farts and saying "uh, akshulee, it's spelled guerrilla warfare". Guaranteed with a little google fu you could find a reddit account linked to them somehow.

According to Geekdom, other dubbing production companies have been given details on 2per but not FUNI. Which is pretty weird given that Funimation is probably the biggest dubbing company for Dragon Ball.

Interesting...wouldnt be due to a certain company being full of assclowns would it? I'm hoping Sentai or Viz get the license.
 
Y'know, ironically, out of all the characters in this tragedy, I'd say mall ninja was actually the smartest dude, despite making an account here and pulling off the Navy Seal copypasta variant himself. While still a sperg, at least he had the sense to fuck off after a while.

The chances of Funi losing the DBS license is non-zero but I still want to get confirmation before I break out the good whiskey. Having said that... Dear god, that would be hilarious.

That I find a tad arrogant of a statement tbh. Unless there is actual evidence he was the first to use it in this movement, I will continue to doubt the claim. Also does he mean standwithvic or istandwithvic. XD Cause that would be hilarious if people thought he meant ISWV.

But is it really? It's not exactly a secret that FUNI landed the DB license thanks to Gen's uncle working at Toei, but Gen has a foot out the door. Some one over at Toei has at least sniffed around this Vic crap so it's not like they're totally unaware.

I give it about a 20% chance right now of them losing dubbing rights to the next series, what happens in the next year or so will probably seal it one way or another. I just want to see the shitfit Sabat and Schemmel would pull.

Not saying you have to believe him, but the guy has been claiming he started ISWV since as early as January 18th. It hadn't gotten much attention at that point.

@RWBY_Fan10000 made a similar claim on January 18th, however, a Twitter search shows that they had been pushing #SaveVic the day before. They were the only person using #SaveVic and they soon switched over to the #IStandWithVic hashtag that other people had been using.

Given that literally no one used #SaveVic expect for @RWBY_Fan10000, I don't think they can claim that they started anything.

Didn't somebody point out that the #istandwithvic hashtag is several years old, and has been used for something like a half dozen causes?

There are no court dates. A few documents are due to be returned in June and a few depositions should take place in June. We're still a long way from the main event.

Twitter shows a handful of people using the hashtag as early as 2012 in support of various Vics. One of those was our Vic, in regards to his Star Trek Continues series back in 2016.

I lost track. When are the interrogatories and the discovery documents due? The clock has got to be running down on those as well. (Gee sure is a shame MoRonica didn't want a Confidentiality Agreement limiting release to only those things used in court filings? Isn't it?)
