Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

While the credibility of some of the accusers is questionable, it should be noted Vic has been shadowbanned from a lot of conventions in previous years due to his general high maintenance behaviour. It was just never announced because his fanbase were so huge and quick to anger.

Also, unsure if this has been linked yet, but this was leaked on Twitter and if this is real, Vic's lawyers are fucking incompetent.
"Leaked"

This is a document we've known about for 2 months almost, with a single cherry picked line out of 400 pages. We were told the same week it was sent out and even saw a picture of them putting this document together.

If these cons never said he was shadowbanned, how do people know he was shadowbanned from them?

How is it noted? Which conventions have "shadowbanned" him? What evidence is there that this has occurred? What evidence is there that if this had occurred it was in any way related to "sexual harassment or sexual assault" as stated and implied by the defendants?

As for Shane's posting. That is the Retraction demand letter sent to Ron Toye, which Shane misrepresented as having received himself. It's cherry picked. The real thing includes 400+ examples of defamatory statements. Some stronger than others. It also skips over the direct communications with the cons, such as Kamehacon, whereby Ron is outright attempting to extort the con to break it's contracts with Vic in exchange for a $25,000 sponsorship.

What the hell is up with this thread and having one sped from PULL or Twitter show up, spew tard cum all over the walls, then when they're BTFO'd they vanish only to have yet another one show up a few days later? Is it actually multiple people who fade into the woodwork after realizing this isn't their favorite hugbox, or is it one faggot making alt accounts over and over again trying to A / B test talking points to see if they can somehow turn KickVic's arguments into something not absolutely exceptional?

It’s the normal pattern. It’s like the SJW White knights have a little red handbook on how to do this, and they follow it to the letter. They used to pull this exact same drill on Kotaku in Action and over on The Escapist forums back in the day.

The @Noya sped at least tried to blend in for a few months in other part of the site before spewing their retarded opinions here.

You just have to go and look at the original thread at the bottom of weeb wars to know there are retards on this site who believe anything they're told.

Shame there isn't a rich anon out there that would push it to over $900,000 so more defendants can be invited to the party. Would hate for some people to escape the... LONG ARM OF THE LAW.

Now I'm not going to name names, but especially the person with arms longer than the Cloverfield monster.

If ArmzGurl settles a part of the settlement should be we can borrow one of her arms to serve people in other countries.

LMFAO imagine being this fucking exceptional. @Noya get back here and lets see what you have to say for yourself

Lol as usual. Everyone loses their shit for an hour or two. Lady Furry stops posting when her like counts get below 50. Then when the debunking and critical thinkers show up to have real conversations, they backpedal on their unicycles again. 🤡

well done, you fell for shame's garbage disinformation op. might want to consult a therapist.

So this is what y'all are going for now then? A couple of cherry-picked responses that sound absurd out of literally hundreds of other, much more clear-cut and reasonable examples? One bad apple doesn't spoil the bunch. Even if the courts decide that these few examples are absurd, there are still, again, literally hundreds of other tweets that aren't absurd.

I'll admit, I'm not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure that this is similar to making affirmative defenses in that if you don't put it on the table, you can't use it as a possible defense. It's why Monica and Ron's original answer listed many ridiculous, contradictory, or even flat out incorrect claims as defense to the defamation claims, like saying that the statements were meant as jokes.

No credible evidence has ever been shown he was shadow banned. Suggestions of such have been for specific years of specific cons, which wouldn't be a shadow ban, so until anything credible is shown it should be treated as fiction.

The tweet is of the documents sent to Ron, of which all defamation must be answered to under Texas law. I find the response funny, and the tweet is defamatory. Under law they have to describe why it is and they did so. I'm sure there are several like this out of the 400 tweets like this. I'd suspect that Ty and co would focus on the most damaging statements and not all 400+. This doesn't make them incompetent, it makes them lawyers that follow the legal requirements.

even if he was shadowbanned for being "uptight" with his work, what does that say at all besides what everyone already knew, that competent people have to put up with the incompetent very often, and feathers get ruffled to ensure the job gets done right?? you're not even claiming he was banned for sexual misconduct, just that his coworkers whine about having to do their damn jobs right. how is that remotely bad for his reputation?

There are literally HUNDREDS (plural) of anime conventions just in the US, not counting comic or other genre shows, nor counting any non-US shows. I can totally believe Vic has been "shadowbanned" from a half dozen or more. Guess what, so have many other people. Ignoring the allegations that got him fired, let's accept for a moment the claim that Vic is generally an assholic diva, he's FAR from alone in that. Hell, there are random weeb-trash "fan-celebrities" that literally haven't done ANYTHING aside from shuck&jive at cons that're prima-donnas. So, some of the people that have actual credits and have truly worked in the anime industry are a bit of a pain in the ass to deal with? Here's my shocked face: 😐

And this is why people here, including me, and including Nick, have been very careful when we are criticizing Casey's filings to point out that things like affirmative defenses might look silly on paper, but also point out that any competent lawyer would make these defenses, even if they look silly.

Most of the dumb shit PULL says is combining their general bias with their general stupidity that they don't even known why people are doing things, because they're socially retarded.

Can you name the conventions he was shadowbanned from and what year the ban took place?
The only one I know of for sure was Anime North, back in 2010. I used to work at it back then, and I remember hearing how rude he was to guest relations despite them meeting his demands.

Calm down, I just linked a tweet relevant to the thread, albeit late.

Also, once again, Divaish, assholish behavior is not the same as being a sexual predator. He's high maintenance? So fucking what. He's being accused of sexual assault and pedophilia. Proving he's a high maintenance asshole does not prove sexual misconduct.
Yeah, but calling him a homophobe for 10 years didn't work for the wahmen who were slapping each other with "Yaoi" paddles (literal wooden paddles), so gotta try something else.

You drank the Shane cool-aid and then act shocked when you're told to stop being a spastic. Pretty sure the anime north stuff has been talked about at length was mostly all hearsay bs by the same little circle jerk or "I heard it from a friend's cousin's dog that Vic is a meany poo poo head to some con slave".

And again, you can find this is true for ALMOST anyone. There are VENDORS (people that PAY hundreds to even thousands to come to the convention) that have been "shadowbanned" for being assholes. That's just a short way of saying someone with authority doesn't like you. And that swings both ways, there are guests that won't attend X convention because some of the people running it are assholes.

EDIT: Honestly, if Vic wants to play big-dick-daddy then he should talk to a vendor about signing autographs at THEIR table in the vendors area. Get a badge and slap down and go. As far as I know, Vic has only been "not invited", assuming no one has a restraining order against him, they can't stop him from buying his own ticket and just showing up.
