Which is why the Whigs are still a force to be reckoned with...

You're making my point for me. Anytime an actually successful new party arose in the US, it was not because it started as a third party but as the result of an existing party going defunct. This hasn't happened since 18 fucking 60 when the Whigs dissolved. What actually happens is that internal wars within either the Ds or Rs gradually replaces old ideological leadership. What is actually happening in the DNC is that people like Pelosi are on their way out, the youth members of the Ds are all woke. Centrism is dead in this country, get over it.

If centrism is dead in the US the US is dead.A multiracial multiethnic continental sized country cannot survive without any common ground between racially supported political parties.
Everyone thinks centrism is dead and everything will get more extreme, then the largely silent center gets fed up with the idiot extremists and pushes them away.

The US has been slowly growing more divided since 9/11 and largely as a result of the attacks. The War on terror created a permanent siege mentality to take hold among all americans. This has created increased fear of anyone that isn't considered acceptable.Add to this the recession which was to an extent a result of the War on terror and you've got a perfect storm of events all resulting from 9/11.This is the biggest mistake that Bush made he made the War on terror open ended no actual end point meaning no victory meaning no purpose beyond survival. And this doesn't sit well with american conceptions of what war is supposed to be.In such an environment extreme ideas have started to flourish.

A course that will be offered by the University of Michigan to consider whether or not President Donald Trump is the “new face of fascism.” Based on the tone of the class description and the political climate of campuses around the country, it is likely the class and its professor will argue that Trump is “fascist.”
According to a report by Campus Reform, the University of Michigan will offer a course entitled the “History of the American Right,” which will explore various political topics through the recent past. A promotional flyer for the course suggests that President Trump might be the face of a new brand of “fascism.”

We begin with the early nineteenth-century defense of slavery and the political mobilization of nativism; move on to the ideas of race behind immigration restriction and through the twentieth-century ‘red scares’; continue by studying the revival of an anti-labor, anti-welfare-state business ideology of laissez-faire absolutism since the 1980s; and arrive at the ‘MAGA’ rallies of our time. Only with a sense of history can we try to answer the question that has stirred great anxiety in some quarters: Are we seeing what one scholar has called a ‘new face of fascism’?
University of Michigan Professor Howard Brick, who will teach the course, says that it was inspired by his research into American “radicalism.”

Over the last thirty years, it has become common in the everyday language of the press to refer to “left” and “right” as if they describe the Democrats and the Republicans, on “either side of the aisle” in Congress—a practice that responds, perhaps, to the apparently dogmatic “ideological” differences that have arisen between the two. This course, however, adheres to the older discourse where Left and Right referred to “radical” or “extremely conservative” (reactionary) currents, respectively.]
Breitbart News reported this week that the University of Michigan will offer a class on “media ethics” course in the fall taught by former CNN correspondent Anthony Collings.

Anyone who thinks about paying money for that course should skip college and go right to waiting tables. That way they avoid the crippling debt that'll come from learning shit they could read on Twitter for free.

Listening to Nick Rekieta's stream last night, they got to talking about what the future may hold for the Internet, but especially the electoral college. With the shit the blue states have been pulling, they're saying that Trump winning 2020, plus having an all-red House and Senate will be the breaking point, and we may lose the electoral college as a result. The only way to save it would be to have a constitutional amendment or it's gone during Trump's second term.

The Dems are literally insane, and really, what better way to be BTFO'd than to permanently establish the electoral college as an abso-fucking-lutely necessity. I'm assuming they rearrange the numbers each state gets every like ten years with the census or something, so if California's 55 electors drops, the state's gonna have a bitch fit.

I was more focused on the third party being created because of extremists in an established party thing, which is basically what CUK was to the Labour Party.

There won't be a viable 3rd party in the USA until the memories of Ross Perot and Ralph Nader are gone. Voters over 30 still remember Perot "costing" Bush Sr the election by pulling 19% of the vote, and Nader "costing" Gore the election by pulling a mere 2.5%.

Political defeats scar voters, and parties change their configurations based on the perceived cause of their last defeat. So the Democrats, who were fully behind the 1999 anti-globalism WTO riots, nominate a globalism-promoting Obama only 9 years later, as a response to the nationalist "cowboy" Bush beating them in 2004. And the Republicans, who nominated "the next guy in line" for 3 decades, break and go Trumpian populist after Romney gets blamed for being too stiff, too elite, too inside politics in 2012.

More radical and controlling Radical left becomes, more unified and empowered Radical right will become. You will definitely get a Nazi-American party, but who knows how powerful they will get. Honestly this is just flow of history and people will lean towards right once economy plummets (recession) and Radical left start going nuts over the economy. Things will get worse before they will get even worser. After that, you get moderation.

I predict...like....3 billion dead.

This is just human nature wiping out the weak and starting over. It is a good thing. We need some mass extinction event like these. There are too many of us.

The "centrists" in US legislature FYI are all neoliberal deep state CIA niggers who are totally on board with wokeness.

Also they are already attempting to do away with the EC

They are 70% of the way there.

This leads to a civil war btw.

There won't be a viable 3rd party in the USA until the memories of Ross Perot and Ralph Nader are gone.

There will never be a viable 3rd party in the USA unless the Constitution is changed and we switch to a Parliamentary system. 3rd parties mathematically cannot have success in winner take all electoral systems, they always end up splitting the vote instead. This is PolSci 101.

If you have any evidence to show that political polarization is decreasing, you're welcome to post it. All of the trends, not just recently but for the past 15 or so years, show that polarization has only continued to ratchet up. The DNC leadership is in total agreement with the radicals over everything but fiscal policy, if you've been paying attention to their discussions with each other.

LOL no they are not. The Party is currently tearing itself apart on whether it should embrace socialism or not and months ago Kamala Harris openly admitted Reparations are utterly untenable and just the DNC paying lip service to batshit Millennials. You know like how Bush gave lip service to the Fundies in the 2000s?

The only thing uniting the Dems is a hatred of Trump and they are already fracturing hard.
