Let's see how long it takes before deer easter eggs begin appearing trying to find their way home out of his shitty fetish simulator

He deleted the tweet and posted a typical Alex "apology":

>claims that he never attack other devs
>used to attack Mike Z for criticizing his poor coding

The funniest thing about yansim to me remains the fact that most of the problems he’s having aren’t due to his code as much as his complete refusal to actually learn how to use the tools he’s given. Remember when he refused to turn on occlusion culling because it might make the game not run on certain ancient intel onboard videocards? Or the awful, awkward way he implemented animations/cosmetics by stacking thousands of unused objects on a character and disabling them? Both of these situations are ones I’m pretty sure unity would cover in their basic handholding tutorials on how to link together objects and create basic behaviors. These are the easy things that Nice Tomeetyou and I are able to fix with some simple code injection and it’s astounding he hasn’t fixed them yet. He really is the Dobson of the coding world.

My prediction for the future of yansim is that he gets really frantic and hires someone and they fix a couple of the basic things like this that can resolved with some simple code or altering settings in the editor. Maybe they buy an actual proper threaded agent simulation and replace the pathfinding with it. As a result the framerate goes up a bit and so does the Patreon, but then Alex’s horrible code gets its time to truly shine when he starts implementing rivals and running hard into the limitations of his unmaintainable clusterfuck of an architecture.
His reputation precedes him. No one with half a brain cell would pick up this hot mess and recode it.

Okay, that is a terrible explanation for that joke. Who the hell even pronounces it "Yan-deer?"

Honestly, the orginal tweet wasn't even that offensive. If Alex had just said, "I was just promoting the game in a tongue-in-cheek manner and didn't mean any offence," I might of bought it.

But, no, Alex decided that he should pull a non-existing in-joke from out of his ass, because that won't raise suspicion at all.

Once again Alex blames his fanbase for his shitty coding.
Yandere Sim is graphically intense? The damn game could probably run on a Dreamcast at a solid 30fps if it was coded properly

Gotta love how the best thing he could come up with was fucking "Deer Simulator". Almost like Simulator games are the only things he has ideas for.

My first thought when I saw the trailer was “The Last of Us:Bambi Edition.”

.... Nobody bought that. Please, for the love of God, tell me nobody in the replies bought that. Holy fuck please no. Nobody can be THAT stupid.

Also something I saw on twitter. This seems to be gaining some traction. https://twitter.com/planetpyuru/status/1137907213694099456?s=19

...He actually did that. He actually made the same argument that South Park did as a joke, and even then they had to follow it up with "Dude. You have sex. With. Children." And he's making said argument completely serious.

Congratulations, Alex, you have somehow found a way to make my opinion of you even worse than before.

Once again Alex blames his fanbase for his shitty coding.
Lol I asked shit about blaming his fans like that while acting all innocent, then claimed that i'm overreacting from just a "Minor and Trivial" phrase, yet his later messages also tells me the opposite

I don't follow this guy, so I was blown away by the sub-zero self awareness I just read.
And then to turn the topic around to "muh haters"?

Typical cow.

If there's one thing I loathe about Alex the most (pedo shit aside), it's that he has to spill his spaghetti in the most whiny and hysterical way possible. Suicide-baiting teenagers are less melodramatic.
If an ordinary person makes a bad take and the Internet jumps on it, the normal thing to do is say "shit, sorry lads, didn't mean it to come out that way, I'll be more careful with my words in future" and leave it at that. Even if you don't think you did anything wrong, it's too minor an infraction to be worth sperging on. But Alex has to write a whole damn essay about how only idiots and haters could possibly misinterpret his words, and how it's all a giant conspiracy to make him look evil, and how persecuted he is, and if you don't like what he said then you're a bad guy, and so on, and so on, and so on...

EDIT: I'd just like to point out that the only people defending him in those tweets are unironic zoophiles and furries who are likely pedos themselves. Go figure.

I checked out the post he linked: https://yanderedev.wordpress.com/2019/06/09/answering-a-fans-questions/ archived: http://archive.li/cbeI9
(Yes, the first image doesn't load. Beats me why.)

TL;DR: If you're complaining about framerate, then you are a foolish child with a $200 laptop.

Here's my response, I know you're reading this, Alex:

As the years have passed, it has become increasingly apparent that this goal is incompatible with Yandere Sim’s design. It’s simply not feasible to build a graphically intensive and processor-heavy game that can be played at max settings on a toaster.
Bruh.
Bruh.
Play the fucking Sims. It runs on toasters pretty well and looks better than YS.
Alex said:
You may look at Yandere Simulator and say, “This game doesn’t look graphically intensive at all!” but this judgement would be made in error. A significant number of Yandere Simulator’s aspects are actually very taxing for a graphics card.
Bruh.
It's just a bunch of low-poly models.
Alex said:
The only times I’ve ever heard someone complain that Yandere Sim has a low framerate, the complaints were coming from a young child who was attempting to play the game on a $200 laptop they got for Christmas. I cannot devote myself to catering towards that demographic.
Bruh.
This is the only demographic that would ever consider buying your game.
Don't trust Youtube Analytics. Kids either just lied about their age when creating accounts, or watch your videos without logging in, or watch YS content elsewhere.
If you look at Youtube's most watched YS videos, your videos are deep down, and the list is dominated by nanny youtubers like Markiplier, Fernanfloo, KubzScouts, Jackspeticeye, PewDiePie, Azzman, DeGoBoom and so on.
In other words: there is little overlap between people interested in YS and people watching your videos, so your viewer data are worthless.

One of the reasons why it’s graphically intensive to render the school is because your graphics card is rendering hundreds of models instead of one. Once the school’s layout is complete, it will be converted into one complete model, and then the framerate will improve. So, attempting to judge the game’s framerate at this point in time is actually kind of foolish, since the framerate you’re seeing now is not at all indicative of what the final framerate is going to be like.
Bruh.
Play the fucking Sims.
It's hundreds of models placed by the player themself.

Christ, how has he still not figured out yet that it's the polygon count and not the number of models? He's hopeless.

Converting the school into one model makes no difference if all the extra unneeded polygons are still intact.

Doesn't help that he has a stupidly high object count because of how he animates or works with things.

Polycount on static models really isn’t an issue anymore to the extent it was a decade ago. Now it’s all about bindpasses and the complexity of your shaders. It’s analogous to painting if you only have one brush - every time you need to change colors you need to stop and clean the brush, which takes time you could be using to lay down more paint. Every time you change shaders or textures bound to those shaders (or any other asset that the GPU needs) you’re going to get a tiny amount of lag. Multiply this by several hundred different objects and it can add up to a few actual milliseconds and the game might wind up waiting for the gpu and manifesting visible lag.

Eta :I should probably mention again that this isn’t actually the problem with yansim right now - the game is entirely cpu-bound so the gpu just sits and spins most of the time waiting for the game to update animations and pathing.

However, if you know about this and reuse assets between models (condensing all the textures into one huge atlas and drawing everything with the same shader, for example) you can get away with pushing absurd amounts of geometry per frame. Here’s some guy talking about it on YT - no idea on the quality of the video but if you watch the first 30 seconds you’ll get an idea of what can be done with clever shader optimizations.

Also, that whole idea about condensing it into one model is laughably bad for several reasons. One is that unity hard-limits all models to 65k vertices. The other is that it will completely defeat most of the culling stuff unity does for free since the camera will always be inside the bounding box of the model. Third, it means that props won’t be able to move at all since they’re part of the base model..

And fourth, the process of condensing a static map made of multiple objects into one optimally renderable one is such a common task that there's a 'static' flag on every single object to specify it's part of the static environment. When the game runs, unity automatically bakes everything with this flag into the minimal amount of objects possible, atlases all the textures for you, and transparently breaks the whole thing into chunks so it doesn't break the occlusion algorithms. There's basically no reason why this shouldn't already be set on every part of the school environment aside from Alex being Alex.
