2 years of getting overdrafted at least once a month and sometimes twice a week... never thinks to pay for overdraft protection? business finance degree printed on toilet paper

Do you normally even have to pay for that? As far as I can remember, all my banks have simply given you the option to not allow overdrafts, meaning that any time you would overdraft, the charge is rejected.

Reminder for when Phil is begging Monday and beyond, he's getting a ~$2000 check from Twitch.

Try ~$2900.

He brings up overdrafts all the time but never mentions bouncing checks. He either has protection or he's lying about overdrafts take your pick.

DSP is still overdrafted and it will affect him for months. Overdrafting is the new tax situation.

Also, because he told everyone to tip him, cheers and subs are lower than ever now.\

Edit: DSP says that every single fighting game sucks online; that's why his complaining is justified. The FGC will never admit it because they just want to get views on their videos.

Can we have @actually give us a tally of this week's begging segment?

Which one?

Assuming you mean this past week, from June 7th through June 14th (EST), I have $595.38 in cheers (with $150 of that from nihilistic_goldfish's 2 big cheers), I have $331 in subs (31 gifted subs from thelastrambo in there, accounting for $82.50, I think), and $1,221 in tips, although that number is based on Phil's total tally, which is usually unreliable. Tonight, for instance, he was so busy being a pissy little bitch that he didn't update the tip total with a $10 and $5 tip that I personally saw.

So total over the last week (7th-14th) is at least $2,147.38, with $1,221 of that being immediately available.

I've never had to pay for overdraft protection personally. If you opt in for overdraft protection, you're bank will allow the payment to process and pay for the item(sometimes they will decline to pay though), then charge you a fee on top of paying back the balance you owe, so I guess that's paying for it in a sense. for instance here's Wells Fargo's overdraft terms:

Our overdraft fee is $35 per item whether the overdraft is by check, ATM withdrawal, debit card transaction, or other electronic means. You will be charged no more than three (3) overdraft and/or returned item (non-sufficient funds/NSF) fees per day for Consumer accounts. The overdraft and/or returned item (non-sufficient funds/NSF) fee for Wells Fargo Teen CheckingSM accounts is $15 per item and we will charge no more than two (2) fees per business day. You must immediately bring your account to a positive balance. The payment of transactions into overdraft is discretionary and the Bank reserves the right not to pay. For example, the Bank typically does not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing or you have had excessive overdrafts.

I have to believe his account is at least starting to get in the "not in good standing" area at this point, if what he claims is true.

You would imagine overdrafting your account several times a month every month for two years would be considered "excessive".

"Even with all the money coming in from the Twitch payment, I've been so overdrawn for like multiple days that it's gonna end up being a big detriment to what normally I'd spend money on" is what he said about getting his almost $3000 from Twitch.

Re-read that quote and try to figure out what it could possibly mean.

It's pure fucking nonsense confusion speak for his wheelchair symbol fans who don't understand money and their disability checks are converted automagically into food and ramps and not being dead.

I would guess he's trying to say he's so fucking dumb he just kept using his debit card while overdrawn, racking up charges so when his twitch payment comes through, a lot of it will go to the negative balance he's accumulated.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to pay his bills with one of his dozens of credit cards and then when he gets paid, pay the card company? Why does he have the bills set up to take from his checking account? Set up all the bills to go on the card. The credit card bill comes once a month. Pay the credit card bill. Instead of paying bills everyday, pay one bill once a month. Problem solved.

I mean, you nailed it, but that's not a thing that banks do. You can't just go more and more negative on an account and expect to keep getting away with it.

It's pure lies.

I may be thinking of something some banks will do where they will automatically transfer money from a linked savings account (or maybe other checking account?) at the bank to cover the overdrafted amount.

Some things you may not be able to put on a credit card (mortgage payments, for instance), and you're assuming he has enough room on his cards to allow him to do that. There's a non-zero chance he actually can't do it.

Yeah I don't know how it is these days as I haven't overdrafted in years and years, but when I was young and broke, if you fucked up and didn't check your account before the weekend, you could wake up Monday morning to being -400 bucks from 5 transactions from the weekend and 35 overdraft charges on each one. I think the government has cracked down on it since then so I'm sure you're right and he's lying, but I have had it happen before.

ETA: This was before the days of smartphones where you could find your balance anytime.

According to posts on this thread from 6 years ago, Phil will be done soon.

Others think he will be done if his YouTube monthly views drop below 1 000 000.

Some say if pandalee leaves he will disappear in a depression.

If Machinma drops him, Phil will be over.

The masturbation ruined him, the end is near.

If Phil's patreon drops below 1 000 he will be done.

His Twitch suspension will destroy him.

His permanent adsense ban will end up being his ruin.

...they don't call him the Pigroach for nothing.

People underestimate the spending power of forever alone NEETs getting allowance from mom/government and are so desperate to have friends (or even just the facade of having one), they'll gladly pay a stranger online to act like they matter for a minute or two. Twitch's genius is in being able to monetize these users and preying on their need for attention/validation and making it seem like they're interacting with celebrities, but for far cheaper than backstage passes to concerts or movie premiere tickets with the cast on-hand.

Twitch won't ban DSP. E-beggars are very much welcome on the platform.

I guess this is the new scam, keep saying your bank is overdrafted despite how much money people keep throwing at you.

Yup, this is the new tax begathon excuse. He even floated the notion that the overdraft issue might become a recurring monthly thing or something in his "chill" stream earlier tonight.

God damn this is the first time I’ve watched him play Mk11 and I forgot just how toxic he is with fighting games. Literally everything isn’t his fault, and every single fighting game ever released has been unplayable online, the mental gymnastics he so casually makes are quite impressive. It’s also funny that none of his chat believes him, and he just ignores it all until he sees one toxic enough to ban an mock.

He’s also got this newer excuse I think from when he started playing SFV again, he suddenly can’t fight characters he’s never played, he’s literally crippled by match up knowledge now

It's very funny when you consider that the logical end point to all of his complaints is always, "then just stop playing".

Persistent online lag. Don't understand the matchups. The game is all about rushdown combos (I love this one because he said it all the time in reference to DBFZ, a game based on an anime of which he's intimately familiar - nigga that's exactly what all the fighting is like in that show). The AI reads inputs. The camera is bullshit.

Not only are his supposed problems never anything to do with him, they're so pervasive and irreparable that he might as well just stop playing the game if they're really that bad. I'm very surprised that people don't tell him this more often in his chat. Maybe it's because they think he actually will, and that'll just be it for that day's/night's stream? I don't think that'd ever happen; he's far too up his own ass about his schedule so he can maintain the illusion of a work ethic. But this was a point raised often in the SoK's Let's Endures; if things are so untenable, why doesn't he just play something else? It's not as if he's Joel Robinson and the Mads turned off the life support to the rest of his house and he must keep playing that particular game. And short of the first initial twinge of humiliation I honestly don't believe he's bothered at all when he ragequits a game. As long as he made money he absolutely does not care. But he's struggled time and again through games without significant payout, complaining the entire time. Why not just have a small set of enjoyable fallback titles you can resort to when your scheduled game just sucks?

I know, I know. Autism. But even retards will pull their hand away from a burning stove. To hear him tell it DSP does it so often it's almost knee-jerk at this point. Cf. those times playing the SF Anniversary Collection when he slipped up and bitched about online lag...while playing against the computer.

And Phil is supposed to be a veteran on fighting games? First order of business when you get to a new game is to try all characters a couple of times to see which one favours more your playstyle and to know more or less what they can do. But i wouldn't be surprised if he forgot about all of them after 10 seconds.
