This is particularly amusing given that one of the tales Phil shared when trying to shit-talk Machinima was that someone from Machinima asked him about doing some Street Fighter casting. Phil, in telling the story, turned him down because it would be stupid to do anything that would take time away from pumping out as many videos as possible. Note that Phil didn't tell this story as an example of a mistake he had made, naturally, but as an example of the ineptitude of Machinima's people.

That was an amazing story. I wish I could remember where I watched it, but I think it might have been a random SOK video or something.

"Dood, Machinima wanted me to diversify my skill set. How fucking stupid is that? Why would I do anything other than what will make me the most money today? Today is all I care out; not some distant or short-term future!"

Edit: I might have found it at least in one of Tevin's old videos (it's probably other places too). Start at 26:25 or so. DSP sounds exasperated that someone in Machinima asked him what he wanted to do outside of Youtube.


Double Edit: Here is the "raw unedited" video from DSP himself. Relevant part starts at 15:20.


Triple Edit: I forgot my favorite part. 41 minutes in the Tevin video, DSP starts complaining that Machinima was paying him too much money as proof of our incompetent they were.

You just described the majority of YT'ers and Twitch streamers who branch out to do commentary for eSports or other types of media once their channels die out a bit.

Bottom line is, Phil had opportunities and fucked all of them off. Instead of learning from his failures or owning up to his mistakes, he deflected any type of blame in every conceivable way. This has made him bitter and isolated to become the internet persona non-grata he is today.

You reap what you sow.

Yes. When Phil was playing the last Yakuza game, Tevin was illegally restreaming him and told his viewers to post words in Phil's chat. One I remember was "goon" and it wasn't long before any chat with the word goon was banned. Also anyone posting a single "1" was banned.

Hits a subscriber goal for a "Viewers' Choice Playthrough", says it's something he's never done before and EVERYONE can submit games for him to play.
Requires the viewers make an account on his forums to suggest games.

Limits it entirely to downloadable games on consoles he owns, completely ignoring ROMs or any older games.
Gives Patrons PRIORITY nominations for this "Viewers' Choice" event, something I don't remember him ever mentioning before.

He did actually mention it before as a throwaway bone to the remaining Patrons and a half-ass attempt to get more Patreon money. Basically, the game they choose is guaranteed to get on the final list or something weak like that. Basically, no incentive to be a patron.

So as usual he's gonna end up with a giant list of a bunch of random shit and the winner will be a 10 hour long nothing game and get something like 6 votes on his forum.

Then Phil won't understand why attendance was so low for a game only a fraction of his small fanbase wanted him to play.
 
A lot of the nominations so far are metroidvania games which he usually refuses to play. He's going to be begging extra hard if something like Hollow Knight wins, which he also won't be able to cheese until past the half way point.

I want his regular schedule to be a meme. In fact the shittiness of it is already a meme in itself, I never get tired of laughing at it. Too much information, begging, EST/PST mistakes, "Live Stream" sprinkled all over it, a visual mess, written in Microsoft Word and sometimes you see the cursor (uuuh no, it's Open Office, DEBUNKED).

You have to be purposefully bad to keep up this garbage for way too many years. Like water bottle crunch, lean in deepthroat snort after each angry rant, mocking his fans for hours the moment they make a suggestion, scamming everyone behind the scenes. Oh wait, he is just a sociopath.

I don't think he's going to have a reeemergency that details any specifics whatsoever ever again. He doesn't need to, and it requires the effort of thinking about lies, and then at least trying to keep said lies straight. The last few weeks have proven all he needs to do is cry about overdraft fees and make vague references to troubles "behind the scenes" and retards will open their wallets to buy him whatever he wants. It's the magic bullet for people who would otherwise go looking for cheaper alternatives to whatever he's begging for, and I'm sure in his mind he's justified it as it being no one's business.

I don't really see him doing this, though watching him get wrecked in Hollow Knight would be kind of funny.
