It was W.T. Kellogg, a Christian, who set it all off, and it wasn't for Jew reasons but because he was obsessed with masturbation and for some reason thought circumcision would discourage it. I'm pretty sure it doesn't.

Nobody gets their appendix removed without medical reason, but the foreskin is also not any more important to the immune system than any other bit of integument

Some people get their appendixes removed preemptively if they're going to some shithole where they're not going to have access to medicine, especially if it's for a long time.
