Militant Vegans - MEAT IS MURDER, YOU BLOODMOUTHS

That's why the joke exists; "How do you know if someone's a vegan? Don't worry they'll tell you".

I am lucky enough to not know any vegans. It's bad enough I have to interact with people who think Trudeau is infallible and have a severe case of TDS, I don't need to add vegans to the mix.

I've encountered multiple people in Splatoon 1 and 2 who include some variation of "vegan" in their screen names. Even when they're supposed to be having fun they still insist on announcing their "cruelty-free lifestyle" to everyone.
I always see that or dumb political shit on people's drawings. Why can't people keep their shitty opinions out of a game intended for literal children?

Because they can only hope to get across to literal children, I suspect.

Australia recently had a plague of vegans descending upon random farms to vandalise and steal animals. You'd think this shit is classified as domestic terrorism, but here we are.

Everything about this image is insufferable, and should be uploaded to the farms.

When I was in middle/high school, there were two types of vegans.
1. Skinny, malnourished kids who didn’t do any of the reading about nutrition.
2. The fat ones who found out that Oreos and shit count as vegan and were probably cheating on the diet anyways.
They did not convince me it was the most healthy idea in the world.

Background: earlier this year I went vegan. After being a lactose-intolerant vegetarian for 20 years, it didn't seem like a huge leap. I went looking for recipes, and after getting tired of seeing stuff like this vegan gluten-free avocado nacho toast, I asked a friend for suggestions, and I was directed to the Facebook group "What Broke Vegans Eat." In theory, it's exactly that, vegan meals on a budget. And sometimes that's what it is about--as I'm writing this, the top post is a vegan meal from Taco Bell where the person recommends subbing the cheese dip for guacamole at no extra cost. But posts like that are honestly the minority. One of the rules is that every post must contain a picture of food, I think to try to steer it away from politics and focus on recipes and meals in general.

However, it's weirdly political in way that is mildly frightening to me. A lot of people on there are weird anti-vaxxers, and even more are super obsessed with circumcision, which lead me to discover that whether or not circumcision is vegan is an actual ongoing debate in the vegan community. The posts are so weird, and it just seems like the strangest platform to use when there are communities out there specifically for discussing politics.

Anyway, here are some screenshots. I only am attaching 10 posts because I'm not sure how much of this people want to see, but this stuff really goes back years and years and is constant.

... I just want recipes that aren't avocado nacho toast, for christ's sake.

The vegetarian community is so much more chill and this makes me honestly want to go back.

Let this be a message to you: going vegan rots your brain. Eat some salmon or something before your frontal lobe craters and you end up slapping big-ass dicks on disgusting fake gingerbread men.
