I think something magical has happened, and I'd like to present it as a "what if"

First, Casey underestimated the autistic fortitude of his clients. He went into this assured they had proof and binders full of women. These people were whipped into a frenzy. Casey was pretty sure Vic would back off when the depositions started, or he'd cave at the mention of evidence.

That's why he was using generic responses and easy reference material at first. This was minimum effort maximum payment. He was pretty sure the case would be over before discovery.

Fast forward to the deposition hearing, Casey is now in need of the evidence his clients have and he knows Vic isn't quitting. Citations from his early documents now point to boards that no longer exist. Soye gives a list of at most 5 people besides Monica, all with the assurance that they want their story heard.

Casey approaches these people, and gets a lukewarm response. Let's say half of them don't have cold feet at this point. He has at most 2 women willing to go forward. But they want paid and total confidentiality.

I think if Beard gets his wish, the narrative these women have been willing to back will fall apart. None of them are willing to become infamous or lie under oath. The 'everything public' line already has them nervous.

This was supposed to be a slam dunk for Casey. Too bad he got human soy as clients

Does Cohen even practice in Texas? Also, what makes Ty's approach different or worse than Casey's here? Neither of them brought this shit before a judge, and Casey is the one who's holding discovery hostage, despite explicitly saying in court that they want the names public? The judge so far has only expressed frustration as to being brought in at all over petty discovery issues.

Also, didn't Ty go to the fucking judge about the confidentiality order in the first place? And what the fuck is a motion to compel if not trying to get the court to sort out a confidentiality issue? Didn't Ty schedule a hearing about this shit.

Cohen is a New York Lawyer operating out of Nassau County, Long Island. He has no apparent knowledge of Texas law, Texas Judges, or Texas rules of civil procedure. By and large New York Lawyers just assume that everyplace else follows New York Law. He’s a Corporate intellectual property lawyer. By all accounts a good one. But certainly not someone who has had any experience with retail level litigants, ever, beyond to drop a questionable C&D on some normie plebe. He graduated Columbia Law and went straight into corporate IP. He’s likely never sat across the desk from a client that was paying their own way.

First thing that came to mind, though I have no idea if they have Ouendan-type stuf in the US.
