Reddit admins have a weird God complex. Do you remember when the Nomansky subreddit was deleted because the founder hated everything about it. Most of the people at the time believed after a certain point that a sub should become public domain and admins should have all the say. Leaving the founder as a weird puppet mod.

Frenworld was a meme subreddit that posted rare Pepes. There was a deliberate facade of wholesomeness and being kind to everyone, while quietly putting in as many so-called dogwhistles as possible. It was frankly hilarious, and thus the usual suspects wanted it shut down. Anyone who knows anything about subreddit shutdowns saw it coming a mile away.

Still funny though, because the stated purpose of the subreddit was to be "frenly" to everyone, and now reddit has shutdown the "frenliest" subreddit around. Why do the powers that be hate people being friendly?

Oof, hot takes over at reddit. I'm guessing their conditioning has worn off or thats just the apathy setting in. Usually these types of comments get downvoted into oblivion too.

My guess is that the ShareBlue drones are currently waiting for direction from above as to what opinion they need to push. It was always funny during the 2016 election to watch as big news stories hit on the weekends when the drones with offduty and reddit was semi-sane, then monday would roll around and everybody would be back in lockstep. With the chaos that is the Dem primary season, ShareBlue or whatever its called now probably hasn't figured out which horse to back and is holding off.

On top of there still being some non-left redditors that the admins haven't gotten around to purging yet, Obama's reputation among the modern left itself isn't the most secure. Let's not forget that as the Democrats continue to lurch farther left, Obama's center-left NeoLiberalism begins to look more like right wing wrongthink to them from their socialist bubbles. They can't outright disavow him entirely for now (because melanin), but they can continue to pick apart his policies without directly pissing on his legacy for the time being, at least until they get a 'real left wing' black guy to be their mouthpiece (think a darker, younger, much more left Bernie Sanders and you have their wet dream).
