From what I experienced, this is a sign that the blood is not being pumped properly down to the feet. It is mainly caused by old age, not working kidneys and diabetes. It is also a side effect of dialysis, since you let the machine do the blood cleaning/pumping for you. They need to do an andiogram and ct scan to see if the blood still flows properly down the veins. though I think the andiogram will do the job.

Since he said the ankle is blueing, I would say, based from what I witnessed, blood completely stopped flowing there. I give it 1 to 2 week before the whole backside of the feet turns gangrenous. They need to cut the whole leg off upto over the knees, because the gangrenous feet carries so many wonderful sthap infections that risk spreading to the heart, due to being blood pumped by the dialysis machine. when the infection goes to the heart, it will cause septic shock, and with that, the heart gets so weak, its 50-50 chance even with modern medicine.

so if anyone interested, I can storytime what I dealt with when that happened to my mom.
