holy fuck
they love spending money
are they going to pay for 3 firms with IOUs?
Do we need anymore confirmation that they really, really for realzees are hoping beyond hope to put all their eggs in the TCPA basket and stop this case from getting to trial? They have now brought in a consultant/atty who specialises in TCPA's.
Throw more money at it, maybe it will all go away.

This honestly feels like Karmic justice. Ron and Monica attempted to ruin Vic financially and publicly until he was driven to the edge and I wouldn't be shocked even slightly to find out in deposition they contacted his current girlfriend to try and tear his relationship apart. They're now seeing all their money get pissed away by hiring 3 different law firms not to win, but to stall for time, in some stupid plan to bleed Vic dry by spending 3x as much as he is if we're being generous, and that's not accounting Superlawyers definitely charging an extra premium. They're definitely splitting up after this, especially after Soye is bled dry, and Monica has made herself so toxic that publicly interacting with her is damaging.

This is definitely Monkey's Paw/Devil collecting dues: "You get exactly what you wanted, enjoy the fatal/crippling consequences."
"Vic will be seen as a sex offender, fired by Funi, removed from all Cons, and see his life in tatters. Btw enjoy your lawsuit."

Oh? I wonder what this is? MoRon hires another law firm on the day of the depositions?

Edit: A glance at this new guy's practice areas:

....The implications of this are kind of terrifying. -Casey- said to the court that he wouldn't file the TCPA after Vic's deposition. What then, of this new guy, especially with him being a TCPA specialist?

Might they have brought him on just to get away with the TCPA shenanigans Ty's been combatting?

Also, where the hell are they getting the money for this?

Casey was representing the client before the court. Not simply himself. The Judge will almost certainly view Casey’s promise in court as applying to them all. Even the new guy. Which should be fun. Since I suspect the new guy is going to drop the TCPA at close of business today.

Is the judge in any position to do something if/when that happens? Other than verbally spank the defense?

Please God let this happen

This is not an organic uprising of fans, VAs, and women from across the industry. Every remotely identifiable allegation comes back to the same tiny knot of people.
Exactly. While the rumors and gossip had been going on for over a decade now, it had never, up until this point in time, been so bad that Cons had canceled on him, that people made a fuss about refusing to go to the same conventions that he was invited to. It wasn't until someone started to call up Con Owners and tell them that criminal charges were going to be pressed that this shit happened. All conveniently after Vic had been fired, and Funi let everyone know that they wouldn't stand for harassment.

This behavior is disgustingly transparent, and obvious to anyone with at least a half working braincell. Or with a head that isn't firmly shoved up into their own lower intestine.

Cam someone explain to me why these morons feel the need to hire superlawyers? What's wrong with normal fucking lawyers?
Because Soye has a tiny dick and is trying to over compensate for it?

Stalling has to be the stupidest fucking thing they could do. They need to stall $180,000 worth of lawyering out of their own pockets before Vic has to spend a penny on this case.

Nick speculated that the reason Casey didn't file the TCPA right away and was hoping to fish for soundbites in Vic's depo is that his case could be seen as so anemic that the judge might look at the TCPA motion, see they have no defense, and just go straight to damages, but the 90 day discovery stay would hopefully wear Vic down enough to get him to settle, ignoring he's the defendant and Vic has little reason to NOT go in hard and dry.

I can actually see the judge immediately force MoRon to back up their bullshit and answer in a hearing ASAP why the judge shouldn't immediately rule the max on punitive damages.

i said nick being deposed would be an optimistic play. but with this new super lolyer, i feel foolish in hindsight. these tards just keep pulling unpredictably dumb moves, god. how many times can the average kiwi have their expectations of stupidity consistently surpassed before being at risk of depression?

I'm ecstatic to see what new, uncharted lows they might sink to by the time the trial is over.

that's just what i was thinking. it's getting harder and harder to give contemplation to things like these recent moves happening, but also keeping the possibility of one of them being violent out of my head. and i don't like saying that because it sounds edgy, and they love to pull the "call the other side school shooters" card but these leaps in logic are horrifying. how can they be okay being in eternal debt?
