Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

Does anyone have the identity of that asshole who got butthurt for not getting an autograph from Lexi Rabe?

@FROG You are the Mundane Matt of Comicsgate you generate outrage over Star Wars, and Brie Larson you have sacrificed being a legitimate comics pro for being an e-celebrity.

If all of RenFatAss' ranting at @FROG hasn't convinced EVS to give her the dick she craves, then it's not going to work for you either buddy.

They're Jim and the Homophobes.
So ever consider doing an inverse? Like making Street Sharks into a Barbie's Adventures style gossip mag or something?

Also if possible, I might actually get a Rainbro Brute copy, it sounds weird enough I'd be willing to give it a shot.

LOL, So, now I just noticed EVS has joined KF.

Hey thanks! We'll launch in a month or so, when everyone has their CYBERFROG BLOODHONEY books in hand. You'll hear about it.

The idea of doing an inverse is kinda the situation that caused REIGNBOW BRUTE. We're parodying the fact that IRL feminists are fucking up boys properties. Except when boys fuck up girls toy properties...it kinda works. You'll see.

Letterers work almost entirely digitally now. And sure, they have creative input in how they do word balloons and fonts, etc. The letterer on CYBERFROG BLOODHONEY put his own spin on everything. The characters are mostly aliens, and he interpreted my script with colors, fonts, and balloons in a very unique way.
Interesting, thanks!
When I re-read a comic little details like that interest me. Sometimes when a word has two of the same letter next to each other "feed" "look" etc I notice the letters look slightly different and I wonder how they did that...

Most comic book letterers get their fonts from Blambot. They offer TONS of fonts for free and also fonts for purchase. The letterer basically is responsible for not fucking up the art with bubbles, choosing appropriate text (like Thor's speech in the comic) and sometimes action words If the artist doesn't draw "KAPOW". Very rarely the letterer will draw the actual letters especially for covers or chapter titles.

If you want to try your hand at lettering download some of the free fonts and practice on blank pages.
A bad letterer ruins a book. Even Frog's art would look like shit in times new Roman or the wrong orientation of letters.
You'll see a lot of people saying "credit letterers". I agree, it's a difficult job. The don't are the tools of their trade. The more fonts you have and understand the more successful you'll be.

Cool, thanks! I'd not heard of Blambot, it sounds like a good resource.

I'm looking for artists on various freelancing sites, are there any particular red flags I should look out for? If someone responds to my post with a copypasta "cover letter" doesn't mention comics and their profile/attached pictures don't include comic stuff, I know they're just responding to everything that comes up without reading it, but I wouldn't know what else to look for when whittling it down...

If you're trying to hire a letterer the first question to ask is where they source/buy their font from. Give them a sample page and review it. Ask them what their rate is. Unless it's someone with a lot of experience inserting text (advertisement work for example) you should give them a few sample panels to see how they balloon and font.

A letterer can ruin a comic with the wrong or unreadable font. The words should also change sizes, reflect the character speaking. If theres an Alan Moore level of dialogue each character should have their own font so the reader knows who is talking.

Blambot is the most common company for pro letterers to use unless they design their own fonts. A Google search for "open source free font" should give you everything you need to letter it yourself.
Comics don't pay money so unless you can front the cash or know someone who will work for comps or free, do it yourself. Teach yourself plenty of tutorials on the font websites.

:story: I like how YaBoi stops to stare at big breasted black woman drawing and then goes back for another look(31:00):

I’m guessing Diana (youngest child iirc) is gonna get a little brother/sister named Jamal/Shaniqua soon.

AlL kidding aside, another great topic. @annnanovichova is gonna like this video considering how hard he’s been covering the UnionizeComic gang.

@FROG

How hard or easy do you think it is to get into the comic book industry nowadays?

Specifically, what are the qualifications for becoming a comic book writer now?

Step 1: Get wig.
Step 2: Get a dress.
Step 3: Put pronouns in bio on Twitter.
Step 4: Tweet non-stop about Trump.
Step 5: Tweet non-stop about how persecuted you are.
Step 6: Be a raging cunt.
Step 7: Get hired by Marvel/DC/IDW/Oni Press/BOOM/Dark Horse Comics.

Considering how grossly evil and CLEARLY racist Oni Press is, I mean... Lionforge downsizing extra jobs? Those madlads.

Do you think Lauren will disavow Scott Pilgrim's publisher? After all, everyone associated with them should be held accountable for the actions of something, something racist sexists. Oni Press were bastards enough to not make any money off their..... (What even do they publish of value besides SP [Not that I even count that shit either]) But to let Bisexual Lightning get fired? And by her accounts, the place was sexist too!

Lauren, prove just how much you care, throw away all your gay little Pop vinyl figures and whatever else you have associated with Scott Pilgrim and Oni Press. Show your support for marginalized PR disasterhairs!

When has that plan ever failed?
