Zero. His clients will have to settle and almost admit that what they did was bullshit. They will never do that, same way Oberlin refused to admit wrong and got whacked with the maximum in payment. They will pay and pay and pay until the matter is dealt with in court.

Okay, 's all around, but if they ever made good on their fees, Casey would probably wring out their last bit of mortage-money and trust-funds they had left to appeal. Imagine a Vegas dealer suggesting "double or nothing" after the loan-sharks break your legs and get your grandmother's etsy password.

The names are particularly interesting. The way Casey is trying to obfuscate them, especially names that are already a matter of public record: these are probably going to be names we know.

And if that's true, we either already have the stories or can easily guess their value to the case.

The veracity of these affidavits must be jellybean-tier if Casey was trying so hard to keep them protected. Ty was willing to play ball and keep the names anonymous.; there's no reason for Casey to object to that other than them being utterly embarrassing for Moronica's case when they get out.

Ty would demand nothing less than admitting to false allegations and giving up info to sue other people. She would be better off losing in court, not admitting guilt, and just refusing to pay whatever damages the jury hits her with.

My concern is more like Vic/Ty being too generous in their settlements. It may well be the case that Vic will take the legal fees + a slap on the wrist. And they will STILL SPIT IN HIS FACE when he does. Even if they specifically have to apologize, one time, on twitter, that they conspired to interfere with his contracts using defamation.

They'll be back two weeks later saying the same exact shit, and then Vic gets to decide if he wants to sue them TWICE.

I really hope he doesn't put himself in that position.

It was like "I'm not going to say Vic let Ty off his leash, but a surefire way to piss someone off is being an asshole to them in deposition" or something along those lines. Hopefully Vic tosses the "turn the other cheek" part of his Bible the same place he tossed the "don't be a slut" part.

Of COURSE Vic was uncomfortable during depositions. Can you imagine a single person who WOULD be comfortable?

Sadly, I trust Vic to be consilliatory durring depositions. But that doesn't mean he should roll over and die. Which is what these people want. To quote:

Lawyers have to follow their clients' wishes, and you may be underestimating how nice Vic is. Imagine being the guy who tells Ty Beard and the Amazons not to go all out on the offensive.

His demeanor at the post-lawsuit cons alone is amazing. If I were in his shoes, I could hold up fine and fight for myself; but there's no way in hell I could show up and be nice, smiling, caring, and compassionate to a thousand strangers for days at a time. I don't have that in me. Most of us here would go the Lenny Bruce route instead, given a stage and a mic during this kind of stressful, continuing attack.

Someone else said it previously, but Vic needs to come out of this with enough of a cash settlement to handle the worst case scenario of never working as a VA again. I just hope he has that as his personal goal as well, and not mere vindication.

I, among others, were saying this.

If you are a lawyer representing your client, I would think you are doing a disservice if you do not seek restitution for the worst case, because while it's nice to think 'oh Vic will get more work' you as his representation do NOT KNOW THIS. Therefore you have to plan for worst case (or among worst case as worst case is the client is driven to minecraft him/herself), given that you have to take his likely lifetime earnings projected from prior to the acts and seek that.

If you win, then overall it doesn't matter if he can get work again as he has been compensated, if he gets work great if not.....

Just my thoughts.
