Yes. Zed was talking about some developing circumstances that further prove he got the right name. I'll let him post it when he's ready.
If Jim accidently calling Jade "Jem" on stream isn't a confirmation, I'm not sure anyone who doesn't believe it at this point will be convinced.

I dunno how much I would trust the word of someone who rants psychotically for 24 minutes about he's going to take someone else down especially when they're cornered.
His rant at Nick was mostly that he's going to do weird Internet shit to ruin his SEO, which Nick is fine with because his SEO is already obliterated beyond repair. It's crazy and funny, but it's not dishonest when he's doing it.

Montagraph's main gripe has always been calling him a pedophile. I've dug through all the videos the boomers post to present him as such and I remain unconvinced. If Jim really wanted this lawsuit to come, he'd keep calling the guy a pedophile, but it'd make the lawsuit more complicated than a simple motion to dismiss.

Why would he want the lawsuit to come?
As far as the Monty/pedo thing goes, in reality the guy just covered for a suspected pedo, right? I'm assuming the Boomers took that and ran with it calling him a pedo afterwards...

Why would he want the lawsuit to come?
Morphonios defended himself pro se and got the case dismissed in his first answer. It cost him next to nothing and propelled his grudge against Montagraph into a huge arena, him being the good guy and Montagraph being the bad guy. If Jim got sued with an equally incompetent suit, he would make thousands of dollars streaming about it.

But he could make thousands of dollars streaming about literally anything else without having to to ever step foot into a court room.
Why bother do that when you can just commentate on Montagraph exactly the way everyone else has without doing something retarded like baiting a boomer into suing you?
It just doesn't seem like a great plan for Jim. Idk.

Morphonios did not 'step into a court room'. He sent precisely one document, 23 pages long, and that's all that it took. He probably could have done it in a single page. "Colorado does not have personal jurisdiction in this case."

Maybe a few times you can do a milquetoast stream on things your audience doesn't care about and get money for it, but those are diminishing returns. Montagraph is a strong story arc, strange and new. It's not Ralph. It's not SJWs. It's a good, honest-to-god crazy person who you can get to say funny shit. Combine that with the implicit value of a lawsuit and talk about it once a week for as long as it goes on with a freshly re-engaged audience.

I don't think Jim would do that, not really out of some sense of self-preservation, but because he usually doesn't make shit up about people. Even when he strongly insinuates something he usually has pretty good evidence for it or will lay it all out.

I don't think most people care about the merchandise. People forget that he said the same thing about Patreon for years before he signed up for that. I doubt he'll make very much money from it anyway, or at least not enough to afford a lawyer for a prolonged legal battle. There's less profit on a mug or hat than a super chat or a Patreon donation. It'll definitely be weird seeing people wearing that shit out in the wild though.

Not really, no. People give him shit for it all the time, but he gets a pass for it because he claims to be chronically ill. Now he launches the merch store under the pretense of needing to bankroll a lawsuit.

To clarify, again, I have nothing against making money, but I don't understand this veneer of needing it to be for something that hasn't happened yet.

Jim made fun of the idea of selling hats as recently as a few months ago. "If you want a cap, buy a baseball cap and draw stars on it with markers."

This sudden reveal of a merchandise store seems based on an imminent, unavoidable lawsuit, but in my call to Montagraph I asked specifically about the lawsuit against Jim and he repeatedly said he had no intention of suing him, that Jim was funny, that Jim wasn't pressing the pedophile accusations that Morphonios had been pressing, so he had no reason to sue him. When this got brought up in the stream, Jim dismissed it as Montagraph lying and him being an unreliable narrator for his own intentions.

SS in the thread are saying that "there's nothing wrong with a man making money", but there is something wrong with lying. He pitched that store as a way to help him foot legal expenses. Maybe it was a joke, but it didn't sound like a joke, and him calling Montagraph a liar at the same time makes it seem less like a joke to me.
You realize its pretty normal for Jim to suspect people of doing something underhanded, right? Like the skeptic drama was largely founded on a suspicion of Skeptics doing gay ops despite their protests. I don't see a good reason to believe that Jim is lying about it being for legal fees given his nature and Montagraph's seeming instability.

You know what I mean. You don't have to get personally involved to follow a cow. Jim wouldn't need to insert himself into the story on purpose to create an entertaining stream imo.

The sarcasm doesn't do it for ya, eh Null?
Maybe it's just not your kind of comedy. That's okay. I still love you. Seriously though I don't see the big deal. Either:

A) it was a joke to institute the shop, or
B) he's actually worried about being sued, or
C) He's lying for some unexplained reason

I'm sure you'd trust Jim regardless of what he says Goku. The real question is, what does /cow/ have to say about it?

It didn't sound like sarcasm to me but whatever you need to tell yourself. Keep being a condescending fag and see how far that gets you.

It was planned long enough in advance he's had correspondence with Teespring to get special product accommodations.

That's exactly it. Montagraph's legal threats seem like an excuse for something he's had planned for a while. And if that's true, then this is disingenuous. If he wanted to sell merch, he could always just say "hey I like money, here's some merch", but because he's tying this in with legal reason, it raises questions and comes across as dishonest. Which also makes his health claims the last time he asked for money equally suspicious.

Unless he's just joking. I'd have to see if he keeps maintaining the justification going forward.

Christ you're touchy today. Can't even take a joke through text lol.
Idk man. It sounded like sarcasm to me. If you disagree, you disagree. But all that, "Oh no, the scary qboomer who can't even properly dox people is coming for me, plz, Pay me, I'm so sad! I agree with Rahm Emanuel who said "Never let a good crisis go to waste!". This is DSP shit. But you've gotta buy my merch!" shit? That seemed pretty sarcastic. I just don't see how you don't see it that way too.

But that's okay.
if you have to ask, they say you're just salty that you can't merchandize
