The tl;dw is while he is not against merch on principle, he feels squeamish about doing it himself. The most hypocritical bit is criticizing youtubers for using print-on-demand services like tee spring (specifically named lol) and advises them to "not be lazy fucks" and have the merch printed in batches upfront for pennies on the dollar. This either supports the theory that he only suddenly decided to do merch (most likely from a fear over the montagraph thing), or that he is a lazy fuck.
