I forgot the details, but I remember seeing a mention (probably in the main weeb wars thread) that she resurfaced under a different Twitter handle.

I think he jumped on because he wants to be a bigger player in the con scene, based on how he likes to present himself and his past roles as far larger than they actually are. He probably figured that he could get in good with Monica, Jamie, and the others and get them to attend cons he's associated with, or more likely (and pathetically) just have some people who might act like he's the hot shit that he wants everyone to believe that he is.

There's probably some of what you say in there as well, but he wasn't on anyone's radar so there had to be some other reason for him to insert himself into this. He's a little bit like the Twitter lawyers seeking validation to fill the gaping holes in his miserable existence.

You might be getting people mixed up, i don't think Allison Rapp has been mentioned all that much except for a small sidebar such as the one above. Allison Cooke (Hanleia) has resurfaced with a new twitter handle and it can be easily found in the 'weeb wars' sticky thread. Allison Rapp was a Nintendo employee (community manager? or something similar) back when Gamergate was in full swing. During that time it was found that she had penned an essay about downplaying paedophilia and was working as an escort on the side.

See, the thing is, Shane has to live with being Shane and attempting to defend indefensible bullshit like TI and deplatforming.

If Vic is really the monster everyone says he is and it comes out in court, nearly everyone on this fucking forum is going to go just as hard on him as we have on everyone else.

Unlike Ron he'd probably be telling the truth about not remembering though. If I had to guess he hasn't been particularly careful about not eating the polish with the shoes and you just know that he's the type of degenerate that likes to take a giant whiff before sinking his teeth in.
