Actually, I think this is a good thing. Number one, because you’re going to have to actually fucking HAVE pots to get in the study. Number two, they’re going to actually find out whether it works or not and see whether it helps, instead of these doctors giving it to all the munchies off label which I see as a waste.

I did have a question about this. Do people running trials like these double-check any diagnoses? Eg. I know they're trying to find the genes that cause h-EDS, but with so many munchies claiming that or getting crappy diagnoses from bad doctors... does that pollute the data significantly?

Curious as well, I just watched a documentary not too long ago about a few people who call themselves professional guinea pigs, one guy said you just flat out lie - but they were doing drug trials and most of the lies were about their medical history and of omission, ie; "no I've never had an illness, surgery or taken medication."

For a phase II you'd have to have POTS charted but the clinical researchers not going to double-check it. So I guess munchies could creep in.

The study is a double-blind crossover though and that's a good methodology that eliminates munchin'. They love toobz and I imagine they would get the same placebo effect whether it's IVIg or albumin or saline or Myer's.

So, I guess one could falsify the diagnosis for some clinical trials. I hadn’t thought anyone would actually go that far. Thinking about that is fucking terrifying, knowing people in the clinical trial world. As for the HEDS gene, this I have intimate data of from people involved in the collection of it. In order to submit genetics to the research, an individual is required to obtain a clinical summary and a 2017 criteria checklist. The researchers are categorizing the data based on what type of doctor diagnosed it. Then, as they collect the data, they have a team of people at the collection point to review both the patient’s submitted record AND a doctor present who is there to both make notes on patients but verify their physical manifestations of the disorder. There is a way for them to flag cases as questionable. But, this is not the way a clinical trial for drugs is done. Companies have an obvious interest in selling a product. They are not this thorough when it comes to drug or product trials.

On a related note, I've been trying to poke into @bendwithitrockwithit Dani Nicole, Ally's friend, but I can't find shit on her past her IG and Youtube (she only has one video left up on there, the rest are all private). She's got a looooong list of claims that she doesn't talk about until you look at her IG highlights- Chronic Lyme that she claims was diagnosed at 4 (!), Nutcracker Syndrome (a weird renal blood supply thing?), Intracranial Hypertension, demyelinating neuropathy, MALS, MCAS, hEDS, POTS. She has a port, gets saline at least 3-4 times a week, IVIG, IV benny.... I really can't get a read on her. I can't decide if she's just genuinely really fucked up and OTT about it or fakey faking. That said, munchies are kind of the least of the LGB communities' worries right now. Blog nazi carried on the grand tradition of contacting me with gossip the minute she was betrayed by IF mods. First off she reads here. Hey, akolada.

What happened was one of the mods (didn't specify but lol) wanted her to give second chances to people who were long-time posters and friends of the mod but hand out bans indiscriminately for minor infractions otherwise. She wanted to be fair and impartial and say a broken rule is a broken rule, etc. (if anyone hadn't noticed she had also been giving warnings for blogging and giving people the opportunity to remove the powerlevels and repost their comments, which is cool. She seemed to really want to make the joint suck less.) Mod also wanted to control what other subreddits she was allowed to post in. In retaliation, she unbanned every single poster they had ever banned and told them to have fun deciding which ones deserve a second chance. Which is absolutely magnificent and I might be in love.

So now PW, MBI, and the new mid had to manually reinstate all those bans. In the meantime:
TruthPixie was added to and apparently subsequently removed from the mod team
someone "approved" kittenbread as a topic. This is the poster that the burger spergers thought was kittenbread.
a bunch of losers came out of the woodwork to cry about boollying.

I have been participating less and less in IF and I’m about done with it at this point. I thought Akolada was an absolute step in a correct direction and they were really making a positive impact on it. I would like to know what infraction the “long-time poster” did and how long the ban was for. Most communities don’t give out a permaban unless it is for something serious like threatening harm to someone.

I googled around for woo eye diagnoses or really rare diseases that cause dry eye but alas, couldn't narrow it down. She never mentions a name. Hopefully someone or something will bait her to finally explain a year later.

Irlens Syndrome is the only woo eye diagnosis I've heard of. It was made up to shill coloured eyeglass lenses and falsely claim they had a bunch of different vague health benefits. Thank you sincerely for your important work spreading Morgellons Disease awareness.
