TGWTG Linkara / Lewis Lovhaug - HMMMMMMM? (Dead Gay Muppet Gangbang)

Since people are talking about Linkara's audio drama, and nobody uploaded the whole thing, here you go.

In regards to Linkara’s audio drama, he and ERod both compared it to CA’s canceled tenth anniversary movie.

So I gotta ask, since I'm dense or didn't watch much CA back in the day.

How did the characters "differ" in the Anniversary movies as to who they were in their reviews? I only watched Lindsay, Doug and Linkara back in the day, but I thought they all acted like they usually did in Doug's crossovers. Even in Moulin Rogue's most of Lindsay's dialogue was pretty in character.

The only one I can give an agreement would be Phelous tho. In the anniversaries he always comes off as a loon, but in his reviews he just doesn't seem to take himself seriously.

Since I watched all the anniversary movies back then, they were all pretty much the same other than Phelous, Film Brain and Luke Mochrie (though with Film Brain, he didn't really have a character, just reviewed movies as himself). They're just more spergy in them. If anything, the Walker Brothers actually got most of the characters down pat. It's just that the characters were awful to begin with. I'm betting good money the reason Linkara didn't like his lack of input on the anniversary movies is because of his ego. He hates the fact that he wasn't the one who saves the day all by himself. I kinda wonder if the Walker Brothers knew this. And considering that the AT4W movie turned out to be worse than the anniversary movies, this was one of the few good decisions they've made.

I've never understood Linkara's formula, anyway. Is he supposed to be Dr. Who? Why is the comics reviewer also this magic-gun-wielding space traveler? Are these intrusive adventures of his just leftover Lightbringer stories? (Actually... Yes, they are!)
He stated that he puts in the storylines due to how story-heavy and silly comic books are, which isn't too bad an idea for a parody. However, Linkara's not really doing a parody, rather he's playing it all straight which adds a layer of cringe to his stories.

It's more of an ego problem as Erod blatantly pointed out that the anniversary special didn't showcase his cool powers.

And it doesn't help that these "characters" have names like Nostalgia Critic, Nostalgia Chick, Cinema Snob, Film Brain, Spoony, Linkara, and Obscurus Lupa AND have to refer to each other by these names.

Most of the Channel Awesome people thought they're minor e-celebrity would be there ticket to TV and movies. I think that's what broke Spoony, he didn't want to be making a reasonable living producing a niche online product, he wanted to be the next Bill Nye with Dr Insano.

I think that's where most of them lost their audience. Before they became liberal loons and really plummeted at least. They sold themselves as this new media expansion of MST3K, where they were mocking bad art, and the low quality was a bit of the charm. No one wanted to watch their shitty fan fiction films.

Yeah back in the day, I thought the CA troop were just people having fun and doing parodies of overly blown nerds. Eventually I realized “oh shit! They are serious about this!” and I jumped out of there as quickly as I could.

The CTC crowd all suffered from the same problems and hence they never made their internet "fame" substantiable unlike others like Cinema Snob, NC, AVGN, Angry Joe, etc.

Now the first one Linkara does succeeded in and it's why he's top of the hep with views when it comes to the CTC crowd and that is to have success you have to be a work horse putting content out regularly like clockwork.

Now part two is where Linkara fails like the rest and that's diversifying content on a regular basis you have to put out regularly more than just your core character to expand you appeal outside of your own niche fan base.

Well he sorta did, they both spew sjw nonsense

He would have if Linkara was ever a normal human being. But we wouldn't be here right now, would we? Also, I think I remember him saying his last name isn't pronounced "lovehog", but I forget where.

I think it's even sadder how linkara is struggling to make content if you take into account how common bad comics are these days.

I've seen a lot of channels, out of nowhere, mocking the sjw comics. And Linkara, who should have the advantage of being around for years before them, and with superheroes being more mainstream than ever, his audience should be growing in no time. If anything he should have more content than he could ever know what to do with. So many bad comics to complain about.

Some of his competition are literally boomers just talking while they are in their cars without any edits or skits whatsoever. And Linkara still falls short.

Let that sink in

I remember Linkara being a pretty vocal feminist. He would go on about male power fantasies, sexist depictions of women, etc. in his reviews. Is that still a thing? If so maybe that's why he isn't too keen in talking about more recent comics.

No idea. Still, a bad comic is a bad comic regardless of politics. So, I think he has no excuse of lack of content not to branch out and seize the chance now that superheroes are more mainstream than ever.

Lol, I wish he started to shit on SJW comics. For more than a decade he has been growing a fanbase of easily triggered spergy fedora lovers, who will attack everyone critical of him (I've seen that with my own eyes, especially if you mention his lust for tranny cock or dead gay Muppet gangbang). Imagine what would have happened if he went against things, that he was standing for all these years? This would be Anthony Cumia vs. his subreddit all over again, only more wimpy and autistic. But this is too good to ever happen.

Linkara hasn't done anything of note in ages but one positive I can say is at least he reads the stuff he talks about. We can do with more people who don't treat comic stuff as some arcane knowledge you need Wikipedia for, especially when they're a google search away if you know what you're doing, for the sake of doing their one billionth galaxy brain take on Twitter about how Bruce Wayne is totally an evil rich white man who beats up the poor and mentally ill.....despite the source material showing that's very much not the case.

I don't know what Bizarro Linkara would look like but I imagine they'd be dreadful in that department.

I never understood that take on Batman, Bruce Wayne is a guy using his wealth to give back to and help the community he's a part of rather than live above it all, he's doing exactly what the left think wealthy people should be doing.

But yeah, he beats up the "poor" and the "mentally ill" in order to.... prevent them from hurting innocent people, usually other poor people, what a right wing blowhard.

This is the same guy who unironically likes Muslim Marvel and called her comic great Muslim representation so expecting Linkara to have actual taste would be naive. Besides, considering his generally awful taste in movies, I don't think it's a stretch to assume his taste in comics is equally bad. And what the hell right does Linkara have to criticize bad comic books when his own writing is almost on par with the actual bad stuff he reviews?
