There are a lot of theories, some of the most promising having to do with prenatal hormone and antibody exposure for males. But in general it is pretty clear that there is not a genetic cause (twin study results have been quite weak) and it is not fixed at birth. You can be born with a tendency to be more likely to be gay, but not born gay.

There is some studies made that say lesbians are the product of too much exposure to testosterone in the womb. Whether they're conclussive or not, I'm not sure, but it's a start. That would also explain why so many lesbians are so manly, in the same way why so many are feminists (lack of empathy can be associated with high testosterone).

I could be wrong, but I think it was (in)famous John Money the one who helped change the definitions of homosexuality from something that isn't a "choice" or a "preference" to being "born this way". Of course, we all know Money was a sicko.

They were right, the people warning us about "slippery slopes" and the "gay agenda" were 100% right all along.

I hate that fact, but there's no denying it at this point.

It used to be so easy scoff at that, it really did seem like bullying, but I used to be a member of a forum back in 2006 and 2007 that had a lot of gay users and frankly even back then a lot of them were self centered, obnoxious, irritating people.

There has never been a de facto "LGBT community", even pre-internet age. Typically gay men and lesbians each had their own local communities with very little overlap. They have decided to join forces on certain ideological issues over time, but there has never been a uniform "LGBT" community. Lesbians and gay men "tolerate" one another, but have very little interest in each other's recreational activities. Bisexuals were a part of either the gay male or lesbian communities as long as they were dating or having sex with same sex people. If they married a heterosexual partner (which most do), they would usually phase out of the cultural sphere of the L or the G. As for the T, it kind of organically grew into the LGB because back when the notion of transsexualism as a medically recognized phenomenon emerged, trans people were practically always same-sex attracted and had been a part of the L or G before transition (and often continued those associations post transition).

Heterosexual fetishists (aka autogynephiles) are the loudest screechers of "LGBT" but they have traditionally never been a part of it.

Growing up one of my best friends was gay and I asked him one day about why that's even a thing. He was always super laid back and honest, not like the rest of these obnoxious cows. He told me that it's mainly a way of making their sexual preferences openly known, basically who the "bottom boys" are. He was never like that, just your regular average joe so it was very insightful coming from him. And if you think about it, it IS almost like taking on the wife role so to speak. The twinks are always the ones who don't want to work and want to be taken care of and pampered. I know scientists have thrown out different theories on homosexuality, the most convincing one (to me anyways) is the fact that in utero, men who go on to be gay later in life are exposed to higher levels of estrogen and women who go on to be lesbians are exposed to higher amounts of testosterone. Pretty compelling, but ya definitely wouldn't cause a natural lisp lol.

I might have mentioned it in this thread but it's interesting how gay stereotypes have existed the exact same across cultures and across time, you can go back to ancient China and they'll be talking about homosexuals with feminine characteristics. I think you got the right idea that there is a biological/genetic component to it, as well. Like all things there's a biological aspect and a cultural aspect but they're inexorably intertwined.
